Their diesel pumps are located out behind the station, but well lit at night, no worries. Family Chevron also has propane. Their pumps work by credit card 24/7, even after they have closed the store part and turned out the lights. One gripe- Their gasoline pumps don't work right on my Jeep. They work fine on our other vehicles, but on the Jeep, no way. The problem is, when you start the pump, it immediately shuts itself off, as if the tank was full. I have to hold the nozzle part way in and hold the foreskin on the nozzle back with the opposite hand, and run the pump as slow as possible just to fill the Jeep. Does it on every pump at Family Chevron, but the Jeep fills just fine at every other station in or out of town. Never had the problem filling it in Stockton or Lodi, or anywhere, just at Family Chevron in Valley Springs. I have no answer, neither does the dealer. Must be something they do at Fam Chevron. So, when the Jeep needs fuel, I just go to one of the other gas stations. We have a Shell and a 76 in Valley Springs real close to the Chevron. Usually, they're a little cheaper too. But I still fill my truck at Family Chevron since it's so close to my house.

The real gem is the people. The employees are all so friendly, and the owner and his two sons go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They treat everyone like family, even if you're a stranger. Walking into the store feels like coming home--it's warm and welcoming, and you can tell they really care about their customers. Oh, and seriously, don't miss out on the burritos. They're made fresh to order, packed with eggs, hash browns, cheese, and your choice of bacon, ham, chorizo, or sausage. In fact, one creeper guy (to be clear, not an employee) was loitering and came closer to me while I was gearing up to ride my motorcycle. Within a couple of minutes Louie was out there asking the creeper if he needed any help aka, "I have my eye on you" in a polite way. I appreciated that. They have a fried food and hot/cold sandwich counter, Burson 12 Market. Simple, good menu with reasonable pricing. If I'm in the area again, I'd like to try their food! He had to crawl under the RV, and disconnect the driveline before he could tow it. He faced many bolts that had not been touched in 11 years. Within about 90 seconds they could tell my AC compressor was blown and told me. The quoted me for the entire system replacement (because you have to because of the debris and warranties), didn't charge me for this visit and asked me to consider things and call them back to setup an appointment to get it done, if I wanted to. This shop is AMAZING and the team is fantastic! I'm still debating on the work to get done, but no matter what, this is a stand up shop and honest mechanics.
