I have lived in Bear Valley for 25 years, and Sam Berri's have saved-my-bacon so many times. I have met many of their people and they have always been incredibly prompt, usually way-early than the quoted time, always friendly, super efficient, with a no job too small or large attitude. They have jumpstarted my vehicles innumerable times, They've towed my vehicles and even my RV to wherever they need to be serviced. When they recently towed my RV from Bear Valley to Angel's Camp, it was a real pain for the technician, but he worked tirelessly and with a smile. He had to crawl under the RV, and disconnect the driveline before he could tow it. He faced many bolts that had not been touched in 11 years. Watching him, I could see it was miserable, dirty, cold work. But the technician was assuring me "It's all in a days work". From Lynn assisting me immediately upon receiving my AAA breakdown emergency request to the delivery from JJ of my vehicle destination back home. This all started when we were on our way with our two dogs to meet up with family to stay in a rental cabin when the breakdown occurred. Unfortunately, we were still an hour away, sun going down shortly and not in the best location off the side of highway 49. Then here comes Laighton, to rescue us off and get us safely back to their shop to secure our vehicle. Unsure of my next steps, he was able to connect back with his office, helping us figure out some options so we could continue on our trip. Joey there went above and beyond for me, my wheel was stuck because the lugnut had gotten stripped and we attempted to cut it off and couldn't get it out after calling for a tow Joey came out and looked at the situation and helped come up with a solution to getting the tire off. I am not sure really where to start! So I'll start with Zac. Zac is an operator at Sam Berri Towing and has provided me hands-down the best customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life From his great communication style, to his deep knowledge in recovery operations. Zac was pivotal and helping me recover a very large fifth wheel camper from a tight camping spot. But the customer service did not stop there. Due to the trailer, being extremely old, the tires on it were flat. Zac took an extra step and brought his own personal wheels and tires to mount while I install new tires on the original rims. Due to some complications he had to leave his rims and tires on the trailer for about Two weeks. Zac, and Sam Berri Towing never once hounding me about this favor, they gave me an extremely fair price for this service and we're understanding of my situation the whole time. Zac's communication and professionalism didn't stop there. Zac explained to me every single step of what they were doing, why they were doing it, what the safety reasons were for, etc. Zac also gave me some advice on where to bring the trailer, how much to sell it for, and other pieces of information that were outside of his job duties. In my personal opinion, Sam Berri Towing, specifically, Zac. Has dedicated their professional services and upholding high levels of customer service to an extremely high standard. After not hearing back the day of the service I contacted them again and was told they were not able to help me at all that day or any other! DO NOT USE SAM BERRI TOWING, unless you are willing to pay for more than what was performed. I had the option of taking another tow truck for my vehicle, but since Al (the driver on call) was the first to arrive at the scene and was really courteous, I picked him over the CHP towing company. AL took my vehicle back to my home, upon completing the service at 4:21 pm he confirmed with Jason the time of the call, 3:15 pm. Al got off the phone and quoted that he would only charge us for 1 hour of service. So we went to grab the payment, when Jason called him back and said No, you need to charge them for 2 hours. I was willing to actually pay for 1.5hrs because I knew Al had to drive back. The extra half hour that Jason was demanding was uncalled for. Specifically since Al was not the CHP company in line and would have lost the service call. I didn't think it was fair for Al, so I pick him, not the other guy. In conclusion, Jason has cost Sam Berri towing an additional $550.00 (a 2nd trip for us to fix the vehicle), so that he could make an extra $150 today. What a shame! As a small business owner, I know the value of repeat customers. Clearly not Jason's concern. He doesn't own the company, he just collects a paycheck. read more

Sam Berri towing company helped me with towing car from Bear Valley resort down the mountain. The initial call was with their office and the person helping collected all the necessary information within 5 minutes. She also provided me an ETA. However it took more time than ETA and I was unable to contact their office which made me nervous as I had small kids waiting for the ride down. However it was later learnt that the delay was due to bad weather and i responsiveness was due to their lines going down during the snowstorm. Finally, our driver arrived. Bradley was courteous and explained the process and very friendly. He was professional while loading and unloading the vehicle, and drove safely down the icy roads. Do NOT let Sam Berri Towing know if you're in a desperate or vulnerable situation. To do so is, blatantly, a greenlight for them to price gouge you with zero care or concern for the well-being of people in their community and showing the empathy of a slug. I needed (still need) my new, bumper pull, RV TRAILER to be TOWED approximately 14 FEET, from space 21 to space 20. Being only 4.5 miles from the Sam Berri Towing office, I almost choked on my root beer when called back and told it would be $195... CASH. And yet, my friend, not in a bind, was told she could get her car towed 60 miles for $149. Please explain that one to me without the term "price gouging" coming into play. It seems my mistake was explaining I was in a bind and they were pretty much my only option. Moral of the story? Do NOT let Sam Berri know you're in a bind, or that they're your only option. Be forewarned, I was informed the "other" towing company in the Murphys area is also Sam Berri. If a rating of ZERO STARS were possible, that would be my rating. read more
