Took my son's 56 chevy into Tools Garage in Valley Springs for a front end alignment, while talking with Ray and a mechanic (sorry can't remember his name), I mentioned the car was leaning about 1" lower on the drivers side, the focus immediately went from the alignment to finding the lean issue. After troubleshooting, their diagnoses was worn out rear leaf springs. After the leaf spring replacement and front alignment was complete, the car now sits level and drives perfectly straight. Here are my take aways: 1) I was shocked how reasonable the price for all of this was! 2) They had the car for a few days to get all the troubleshooting and work done, I must have received six phone calls from Ray and Dave (owner) keeping me posted on the statis of the work. 3) After the job was complete, we took the car home and got yet another call from Dave in the evening asking if the work on the car was satisfactory. I can't express enough gratitude for that. 4) All said and done, I have never been so taken care of by a shop. If you are thinking of having work done I would not recommend this place. Over priced , & sneaky. They pulled my tail light relays and then sent me a $170 bill to diagnose and replace bulbs. Little did they know that I worked on my own vehicles & know my stuff. Tail lights were fine before I went in , & all of a sudden my fuse is completely missing. I would give them a 1 star but I must say there customer service is good and overall shop is neat & professional looking but they are not as trustworthy as you would think. Appointment only service station, they do not take walk-ins. Francisco has a piss poor attitude and they are very overpriced. I had to ask more than 3x for the price of brakes then finally went into the station to get a quote and was told they only take appointments, all I needed was a quote. They are an over-priced auto-service station charging over $600. for brakes with Francisco saying they were in line if not lower than other area stations which is a bald-faced lie. As they are the most expensive service station in the county. From their negative attitudes to their incorrect information to their refusal to give me a quote on the phone. terrible customer service to say the least. Every auto station within 30 miles is less expensive than this station so beware and check your prices beforehand. read more

Needed my rear rotors/brake pads replaced. Checked the car in at 7:30am and they told me I could access my work order online once they registered me which I received a text shortly after checking in. That part was cool. I got a full inspection report of the car along with pictures. They stated I needed a lot of replacement service but I declined all since my husband can do a lot of it and just approved the rear rotor replacement for $535. The work order was updated with ordered parts with nothing else....I also didn't receive an alert that the WO was updated with that info but I kept checking it every 30 min or so. I finally messaged asking when the car will be ready and I got a response back, still waiting for parts to arrive..::this was about 1ish and said they hope my car will be done by end of business day which is 5:30 for them. My husband had to come pick me up at 3:30 and we had to go past Toole's anyway on the way home so we checked in. As we drove up, my car was parked in the customer parking lot....my husband checked the rear and he said it was done.....we walked into the lobby and spoke to someone at the check-in counter and another guy shouted from the back stating the car was done. I never received any follow up that the car was ready but as long as it was done, I was good. Once I paid, I received my receipt via email that I checked when I got home. It said that my windshield was cleaned and car was vacuumed......it wasn't but whatever too. The main work was done to my satisfaction and it was a good price for it. As far as communication goes.....not so great and I didn't get my windshield cleaned and car didn't get vacuumed as stated on the receipt.....will I be back?? Of course, they are really the only repair outfit in Valley Springs and did a good job. read more

Again another great experience at Tooles Garage. Had to have rear shocks replace on our SIV. Kate gave us our quote which was every completive with other garages. The big difference was the parts Tooles Garage where going to use. Since my SUV is a Ford they where replacing shocks with ford products. Other shops where not! Tooles has become are go to Garage for all our cars needs. And addition of Kate being there its a plus. She's very good at helping explaining things. Thanks again Tooles Garage!!! read more

I just had my 1986 Ford Van serviced at Toole's Garage and, while they were a bit pricey for me, there's no doubt you get what you pay for. They were honest, communicative, and prompt. Francisco, contrary to other stated opinion, was helpful and direct. Kate was excellent and the mechanic who actually worked my van came out and spoke to me about his findings.
