Love Raley's in Jackson for a variety of reasons. The store is always clean, and if I need help finding something or reaching something on a top shelf, there is always someone wanting to help. Also loved how when I had not been to the store for a couple of years, due to moving away, and we returned to the area, and I went to the store, a number of clerks who were so excited to see me and actually went out of their way, to say 'Hello Beth, so nice to see you'. Some people think Raley's is expensive but they are not if you follow their ads and sign up for their emails, which highlight weekly specials. read more

It's fine. It's mass produced bakery products. If you got a sweet tooth craving it will do. Their buttercream is decent. Pretty much the only frosting I will get whenever I order a cake there. The single slice cake, cheesecake, or pack of cupcakes are so ridiculously overpriced now though. Pretty sure they're not importing bakery items or ingredients, so I think it's ridiculous. read more

While the staff is always nice and attentive, the store has really lost its charm. I've mostly stopped shopping here, but was in a hurry and dropped in for a few quick items. Brownies sounded great, picked up this box, got all the way home and saw it was past its "Best By"date. This happens at this store far more often than it should. I am so frustrated with Raleys website. Its terrible! Most of the time it does not work for "Weekly Specials." I now shop at Save Mart or Safeway (don't like it) but at least I can plan my trip and know what the specials are that week. These two websites work just fine, all the time, so I know it's not me. Today I phoned in a pickup order for two different sandwiches. These sandwiches are usually made with rotisserie turkey, that's what has always been used each time I go in and order. Today I was in a hurry and decided to get them to go and just eat when I got home, 30 minutes away... I called and talked to someone who works there, probably new, but definitely didn't sound enthusiastic about taking an order... which is fine... he probably had a long day... no worries... but after I picked up my sandwiches... drove 30 minutes home and unwrapped my sandwich and saw that instead of rotisserie Turkey... it was the sliced/processed deli turkey. And both sandwiches were made with the same ingredients. Nevertheless, the sandwich was meh, I just wish it was made the way it was supposed to be. Store groceries are alright but their pharmacy is the absolutely horrible. I had a problem a year ago and gave them another chance again and again. Now they lied to me. Yes, LIED. Went to get my new prescription and told me my doctor canceled it because my insurance didn't cover it. I no longer go there and YES my insurance covered it and my doctor DID NOT cancel it. read more

High priced produce has been consistently bad for months. Particularly apples and (see photo) these potatoes that I just got. Pharmacy has gone down hill in some regards, as has their fish department. The customer service has never been great, just so-so, a mixture of indifferent employees but it's always been countered by some very nice ones. I hope they can pick things up again. As crazy as this sounds, look to Savemart as how to stock produce and fish. They do have the best Kombucha. I'll continue to shop here for select items, but it's no longer my go-to. read more

This is based solely on the sandwich counter. I came in at 1:00 pm Friday, Jan 28. The guy at the sandwich counter did not look at me, did not acknowledge me and seemed to be in a bad mood. I stood there a few minutes, 'cause I was hungry, but when he cleaned the knife he was using by wiping the blade on the counter, I left. He wiped mayonnaise of the blade into the counter and then used it to spread avocado. I usually eat lunch at Raley's as I travel all over for work. This was most negative experience I have ever had at a Raley's. read more

Thank you Raleys for saving us over the weekend. Came here to pick up camping food and hot wood. They had everything I was looking for including my favorite chips (Maui sweet onion) and Kings Hawaiian sweet bread hog dog buns.... which was nice to see. Also picked up organic brownies from the bakery section. Big parking lot. No problems. In and out. If you're ever passing through the town and looking for a grocery store stop here! This is a very nice clean store with a really nice team of people. Deli is always great. Produce is outstanding, nice organic section and wine selection it's a little more pricey but definitely worth the visit. You will also be able to find specialty products you may not find at the other grocery stores. Pharmacy is great usually no wait or very short wait. Pharmacy in particular has gone waaay downhill; old staff left (gotta be a story there), and new untrained staff aren't up to speed after months! Then there's the reshuffling of ingredients with little logic. Somehow the Old hometown feel is gone, and the overall managing isn't working. I now do anything to avoid, and there are many shoppers in there who can't find anything! And the corporate mentality of making customers go through whole store to get to basics is not disability friendly; in this community that's a huge disservice. read more

What a great grocery store! We are visiting from Monterey and just popped in for a donut and a coffee while we waited for our tire to be repaired at Jackson Tire. The cashier was a hoot!!! Love love love the Raley's store in Jackson. There is nothing I do not LOVE about the store. Had moved from Jackson in '07 and then started going back to the store in '12 and low and behold the clerks, checkers, deli, meat, produce folks ALL said 'Beth its so nice to see you, we have missed you'. After 5 years they still remembered me. The store is always so clean. ALL their electric carts for the disabled work. They carry every thing I need and for a better price than most stores in the area. They have a HUGE natural food section which such a great selection of food. And I can use my own clean cloth bags for bulk items like nuts, grains. They also carry organic milk in glass jugs, Starbucks VIA packs, Lunberg rices, and huge selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Their deli is fantastic and they have good vegan and vegetarian choices, with a nice sit down to eat area. The have a nice floral section of both cut flowers as well as a nice variety of potted plants. And the folks at the pharmacy are very nice. Their baggers are clean and neat and very polite and helpful. Thank you Raley's for making such an effort to know your customers, rather than treat us like a number. read more

Stopped by today and was immediately put off. You'd think that if you have to charge $ .95 for a lemon it would not be rotting. Felt that bins could be cleaner also. The prices are definitely not why you come here but when I'm at Raley's I would expect a cleaner store, and produce which is not past it's use by date. Left and went to Cost-Less. read more

Store is absolute garbage. Overpriced, they close the meat, Chinese food, etc to early. By the time a person is off work all the hot food opinions are closed. The pharmacy is down right dangerous. I was given another person prescription twice and no longer go there. They don't answer their phones and you prescriptions are never ready. read more

The staff is friendly and helpful and I wish them the best, but the place is really going down hill. I shop at all the stores in the local area and I've been doing some of my shopping there since they opened a number of years ago. But, I'm more and more disappointed with them. They used to have a small number of really good prepackaged deli items in their takeaway section. But a couple of months ago there was this explosion of items most of which I would never buy. I tried one of my favorites (Verdi Chicken Enchiladas) and I was disappointed with them. In the past they were nicely filled, but the last time they had about 1/2 the normal content. Earlier this evening I was in the store and a deli worker was standing there taking inventory and I told her I hated the new packaging because it hid the contents. I complained about the enchiladas and said that I really missed the Florentine Lasagna that they had this time last year. She said it had been discontinued and that the corporate management really didn't care what customers thought. She said they just did whatever they wanted to do without listening to employees or anyone else. I also needed to pick up some ham shanks and they didn't have any. In order to get the kind of things that ordinary people might want I need to go to SaveMart or Safeway. I guess that's the reason I only spend 10 cents of every food dollar at Raley's. I have nothing against the people who work in the store--they are very nice without exception. But, the corporate management sucks. read more

This is for the Asian take out in the "food court." We got the chicken chow mein, bbq pork fried rice, broccoli beef and pork pot stickers. Everything was surprisingly good except the pot stickers. When we got home and tried to eat them, they were so hard, they cracked at the edges, which became sharp little pieces. It actually hurt to eat them, so, we threw them away. We went there about 4pmish, so I don't know if it was close to the end of their day and they didn't want to throw them out. What bothers me is that the guy who picked them up and bagged them must have felt how hard and old they were. I'm glad I threw them away instead of serving them to the kids. read more

After a long day of work I stopped in to grab Chinese food and was shocked by how rude the management of this Raleys is. I stood in front of the food for 15 minutes while 3 managers talked with an employee behind the counter, completely ignoring the fact I was waiting to order and never said a word. After contemplating finding somewhere else to eat the hefty manager with a full beard and no beard net said we'll be right with you as they all walked into the back. I'm a typically patient person and this is the first place of business I've actually taken time of my day to review. It's no wonder Raleys is the armpit of Amador County grocery stores. read more

WAY too expensive! Safeway has the same union so I don't understand why things at Raley's seem to be priced around double.... I get a Raley's card for Thanksgiving and Christmas, I usually just buy Visa gift cards, and then go spend them where groceries are priced more realistic. read more
