I have been a loyal customer of this retailer this I moved into this area in 2015. I am a 58, soon to be 59 year old disabled woman, struggling to survive on my SSDI income. I usually either bring with me various shopping bags or my own shopping 3 wheeled shopping bag. This trip I only one canvas book bag, and and a shop bag from a previous store purchase of water and a snack bag of cashews. Upon my first entry into the store I noticed there weren't any available shopping carts or baskets. I went back out into the parking lot and even behind the store and still didn't find any shopping carts. Since I have been shopping there for long and I have been always putting my intended items of purchase into my own shopping bags without any problems. I began doing so again. I will add that for the first couple of years I would announce that I was about to do this activity but that I would be purchasing these items at check out. Finally one day the store manager, a very nice gentlemen said to me that it wasn't necessary for me to announce it every single time because they knew I wasn't there to steal. So I was doing my normal activity. Only this month my purchases were going to be very limited because I installed a high quality security pick and bump proof lock on my door at my home due to frequent thefts. It cost me nearly my entire SSDI check. I had been attempting to get my landlord install it but he refused. I couldn't afford to support the neighborhood or it's drug and alcohol addictions. I hadn't been shopping long. I put two 12 pack Romen noodles in one bag, one 5 pack Romen noodles in another bag and one chow main noodles and was about to go head for the toilet paper aisles when this woman approached me screaming at me for stealing and demanding that I throw the items in my bag on the floor. I complied. When I mentioned to her that I had that a) I was shopping not stealing that I would have to be actually leaving the store with the items to be stealing them but since I always take them to register and pay for them that doesn't constitute stealing and b) that I searched for both shopping carts and baskets and found none c) and that's a frequent problem here which is why I bring my own bags, and it's never been a problem before d) and the only other option I had was to bring every single item up to the register to be held until I had gathered everything I had wanted to purchase that's when this woman went off on me and said that she didn't like my attitude and grabbed the bags from my arms nearly pulling me to the floor at that same time! I had to scream at her to stop! That some of the items were my own personal property and my $1,200.00 Samsung Galaxy S10+ cell phone nearly came our crashing to floor. Thank heavens I was able to catch it in time. I just got it in April. This incredibly most ridiculously histrionic women's name is Candice. To cause such a scene. To make certain that the entire stores customers were completely aware that she was throwing out the white woman and accusing the white woman of stealing. She wanted the entire store to hear her and to hear her say that I was banned from that store for life. Well, if this is how you treat your law abiding customers who have loyal to you and think this is going to help you with your P&L? Think again. Because I would seriously reconsider that plan if I were you read more
