Walmart is like a magnet it will draw in customers from the worst to the best. I suggest that if you are concerned about that simply go to walmart.com and actually purchase the items online, after comparing the item with its competitors, also online, and then the store employees will put it in your cart as a completed purchase. Don't be hesitant about asking an employee for assistance or even going to Customer Service for assistance. The perennial scam in all Big Box stores is excessive returns and misuse of the self-payment registers. Be assured that all stores have the same security methods and they are quite good at catching the bad people. If you just want to walk around and shop another suggestion is to call the store and ask them if they have a specific item, and to actually hold it for you. There is an excellent free Walmart app for your smart phone to make shopping much easier by actually locating the item and current price. Walmart still has a policy of meeting the cost of all other "local" competitors with the actual flyer listing prices. The pizza and Italian-type foods are the mainstay of many college people. During the winter months, its short staffed, due to low traffic volume. Cooperstown is a seasonal place, busy in the summer and dead in the winter. This store is much busier in summer, and the quality of help, the amount of stock, and level of service improve, since more business = more hours to run the business. Plenty of parking, next to other businesses, so its a nice little shopping center. You can get a lot of things in one trip without driving all over. Not crowded or congested like it is driving into town, where one cannot get around easily in the summer months due to the tourist influx.

Even that late, there were still many bakery items and prepared foods. This was around the time of the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction, so I came here and got some prepared meals for the busy weekend ahead. The manager who was helping bag the groceries was very nice and friendly even though it was pretty late then. I would definitely recommend this Tops! Don't know why it has such low ratings.

I went through the self checkout and selected "print my receipt". The machine made printing sounds but no paper came out of it. I told the one cashier that the machine was out of paper and all she did was to shrug and walk away. I wasn't sure if I should leave or wait around for assistance, since she wasn't clear in her intentions on helping me. After a moment she came back and said she couldn't find the person in charge of that. I asked her if I could have the receipt emailed to me but never finished the sentence because she cut me off. She assumed I was asking her something else and couldn't be bothered to actually listen. Wow! I am really not used to being treated so rudely by a CVS employee. I guess I took it for granted that living in a small town, I would always be treated with courtesy. Was I wrong. CVS needs to step up their game.
