Better discounts and targeted coupons than most stores and in general less expensive. If you want cheaper gas buy the food and gift cards at Kroger. The gift cards routinely are for every dollar spent two dollars in gift card points. When they run specials it's 4-1 for gift cards. I am on average getting 50 cents to a dollar off gas at every fill. Service has always been good and I like the ambience of the store. The staff does a good job of getting expired food items off the shelf.

Disappointing Experience at the Alcoa, TN Walmart…read more I recently had a frustrating experience at the Alcoa, TN Walmart while trying to buy the new Flip and Sip Cirkul cup as a Mother's Day gift for my mom. I had purchased one for myself a few weeks earlier and wanted to get the same item for her. When I arrived, I checked the area where I had originally found the cup, but it was no longer there. I searched the main aisle with other Cirkul items, but there wasn't even a spot labeled for the Flip and Sip cups. I used the Walmart app, which directed me to a seasonal summer section--also incorrect. After struggling to find the product, I asked a worker who had no idea what I was talking about. I then found another employee who genuinely tried to help, but with all the confusion from the store remodel and clearly undertrained staff, he was just as lost. He reached out to a manager who told me they must be out of stock. I politely mentioned that the app showed over 11 of the color I wanted in stock, along with several others. The manager then said they must've pulled them and sent them back to the company because "11 isn't a lot." That made no sense--especially when there were only three of a different style still sitting on the shelf. He directed the employee to check the back room where items are staged for return, saying they were probably pulled that morning. When I mentioned that, as a Walmart+ member, I could still order the item for pickup, delivery, or shipping, he said it would likely be substituted or delayed. I told him I believed the item was still in the store, but he insisted they were definitely gone. Sure enough, after I finished shopping and went to check out, I spotted a display end cap with dozens of Flip and Sip Cirkul cups--in every color imaginable. The exact product they insisted wasn't in the store. I'm happy I was able to get the gift for my mom, but it was incredibly frustrating to waste over an hour searching because no one knew where things were or how to check properly. Even worse, I was misled--whether intentionally or not--which made me feel like I wasn't being taken seriously. I understand that remodels can create temporary confusion, and sometimes items truly are out of stock. But please, train your employees better and don't tell customers something is gone when it clearly isn't. It's frustrating, disrespectful, and wastes everyone's time.

I paid for the cake on July 21 and specifically verified that it would be delivered to our wedding venue at 3:00 PM. I even had the bakery double-check the order, and I was assured 100% that everything was set. When the cake hadn't arrived by around 4:00-4:30 PM, we had to start calling to find out what had happened. We were then told that someone had supposedly called on the 18th and changed the order to an 8:00 AM pickup. That explanation made no sense, considering I didn't even finalize and pay for the order until July 21. How could someone have changed an order before it was even completed? What was even more frustrating was that if the bakery truly believed the cake was supposed to be picked up at 8:00 AM and no one arrived, why didn't anyone call the contact numbers on the order? Instead, no one reached out, and we were left scrambling with only about 30 minutes before guests arrived, wondering if our wedding cake would make it to the venue. We were even told they weren't sure if they could get it there in time. As for the cake itself, the decorations were beautiful, and I do appreciate the decorator's work. Unfortunately, the cake was noticeably lopsided, and the cake itself was dry, especially considering the price we paid. It simply was not worth the cost. Mistakes can happen, but this was a wedding--an event that can't be redone. The lack of communication, the confusion surrounding the order, and the stress this caused on such an important day were unacceptable. I sincerely hope Publix reviews its procedures so that no other couple has to experience this on their wedding day.

So, this is a funny little place in rural Tennessee. We were just passing through (though in years…read morepast we lived nearby) and stopped for gas. It's one of those country markets that sells a little of everything. Hot food, smokes, packaged snacks, beer (lots of beer), automotive supplies, ice, bait and tackle, cold drinks, etc. The interior is cleaner than I expected and does not reek of smoke (a big plus in this type of place). There are two benches out front. One is an old church pew bolted to the wall. The other is a more conventional park bench with a live chicken in permanent residence. If you want to sit down for a bit, eat your moonpie and drink your RC Cola, and watch the stereotypically colorful locals pass through, I recommend the pew. Contrary to the pictures in google street view, it is a Marathon gas station and their gas prices are reasonable.
