While in TN, we stopped by TJ's...as I always have to stop to see if I can find something at one that I cannot find at others. I had been liking those cornbread crisps, and I was able to find them here. Just like on any Saturday, TJ's is packed. People are everywhere. The lines are typically long, but you are in and out. I love Joe's their products are awesome saucing! I have been going to Joes for years!!! This Joes is a bit small, and in a busy spot, but it truly is worth venturing in. And what a pleasant surprise! Lots of seasonal surprises, whipped sweet potatoes, pumpkin and spice items, cranberry goodies,wines, arrays of nuts, seeds,cheeses, florals, scents, doggie Advent calendar, cards, samples, chocolate, mints, and on, and on and on! Trader Joe's is super crowded but when they have what you want it's great. I have been to a ton of different TJ's and for some reason they are all cramped and don't always have tons of the items you may want because they have so many different things. I loved the peanut butter Joe Joe's they had back in the 90s-early 2000s (they used to make them in CA), but they have never heard of them out here - this TJ's is newer than the ones back home. The people who work there are nice and will show you where you need to go if you ask (and know what you are looking for before you go in). read more

I've been here a few times since I moved to the area. If you like candles they have the best candles that you can actually smell when they are burning. The employees are always friendly. Makes sue you know when you buy breads and baked items that they don't have preservatives in them, so they will get moldy. Their hummus and pretzels thins work great together also. read more

Should you go here? Yes. Not much more to say. :-) Unique products at good prices and friendly service. They often give my kiddos suckers or stickers. The parking lot is being redone and unfortunately it was left a mess on a day it was pouring rain. However, the staff went above and beyond to help people to their cars. Loved this TJ's enough that I came back twice in the same day (never mind that's because I forgot something the first time). But seriously, who doesn't love Trader Joe's? Anyone? Anyone? Didn't think so. This location has easy access, good parking, spacious store, good produce, nice wine & beer selection, excellent variety of nuts & seeds... all my TJ faves. I even bought a Blarney Scone Irish Soda Bread after a complimentary sample served with Irish Kerrygold butter. Yes, I'm a sucker. I'm sorry one bit about that. Oh... Trader Joe's is awesome. They have so many delicious foods and snacks. It's always clean and bright and the workers always seem happy. I wish there was one closer to a farragut, but it's worth the 15 minute drive. Points points that this one has a real parking lot - 5 stars for that alone. So I was 21 and at this Trader Joe's with my fiancé. He turned 21 in like 3 weeks. I was trying to buy some beer for cooking. Only one can. They still wouldn't sell it to me saying it was a law because he wasn't 21. It's definitely not a law. If they had said it was a store policy, I'd have been fine. I will never be returning here because the staff and management are liars. I had no problems purchasing such things at other grocery stores. What they said would be unenforceable as a law because it would bar parents with children from buying alcohol. They couldn't even think through their lies with logic. Just overall, their incompetency makes me question their ability to handle perishable goods safely. read more

Great organic food and products. Their prices on some stuff is a little high for my taste - but I get it. It's higher quality stuff, so it costs more. I am always shocked by the bill after I leave though - especially on trips where I get most or all of my groceries there. They're taking the pandemic very seriously and only letting a certain amount of people in the store at one time. It kind of annoyed me only because no other grocery store is doing this anymore, and I drove about 30 minutes to stand in this line. But, again, I get it. It's a small store and having a ton of people in there would be bad. When you're done with the line, an employee hands you a sanitized cart and you're good to go. The employees are very friendly, talkative (especially when you're checking out), and helpful. Glad we have a Trader Joe's in Knoxville for those special and unique items they have. It's just not my thing. I think prices are a little high, and I'd prefer to just go to Kroger or Aldi to not have to stand in a long line to get in the store. read more

I go to Trader Joe's for flowers, cheese, and frozen stuff. They have a very large wine assortment, and the cheese selection is one my favorites in town. If you buy some of the fruits and veggies you need to eat them within a couple of days or they will go bad, fyi. I also don't trust their meats, just my opinion. They have some pickled veggies that I enjoy, I also love their trail mix. They also have an everything bagel seasoning that you can sometimes find in the stores. So basically what I love here @ Trader Joe's is: Cheeses Flowers Trail Mix Pickled Veggies Frozen Stuff Wine Love this place and on Sundays it's a damn mess bc they stay packed, so avoid on Sundays but check them out. They usually always have an assortment of seasonal stuff, like pumpkins on Halloween, wreaths and greenery around the Holidays, etc. Hope you love Trader Joe's as much as I do!! While I can't get everything I shop for, they have absolutely amazing things they make that you can't get anywhere else at incredibly reasonable prices. The staff are very kind and helpful, and TJ's own chocolate is amazing (i.e., you'll never eat a Reese's again)! They also have beautiful cut flowers and plants. I'm only bummed because there's only one in town and it's not convenient for me to be in that area of town very often; we definitely need one in the west. read more

Don't come here for Coke and Velveeta. Trader Joe's isn't a "regular" grocery store. Sure, it has bread, milk, and eggs. But, it's mainly a place where you can find original items (primarily their own store brand) that aren't available anywhere else. Want a microwave Bimibap bowl, spicy dried mango, and fair trade coffee? They have that and more. Most of their prepared foods are really good. TJ's is not afraid to introduce unusual flavor combinations and styles of food. Most of it is pretty healthy and/or organic. But, some items are more in the realm of gourmet or interesting. It's as if you combined Whole Foods, an international market, a wine store, and a Kroger. The produce section is decent. Sometimes it is a good deal, other times it isn't. They don't weigh anything. So, each fruit is priced by the piece or container. Meats are good too. Again, no custom weighed meats. It's pre-weighed. Some people love the "two buck Chuck" (an insiders name for the cheap Charles Shaw wines). I'm not a wine person. So, I couldn't tell you if it's good. Also, It's not two bucks anymore. I think it's closer to $4 these days. Cool things: (1) Free samples -- usually a food item and a brewed coffee; (2) New items every month (look for it in the far left corner near the cheese) and nice seasonal items; (3) they have games and fun stuff for kids. Overall: Trader Joes is AWESOME. It's a game changing business in the grocery category. It makes buying food way more interesting. read more

This TJ has all the usual things I love about TJ: great prices on produce, lots of vegan items, and fast service. They have great prices on TJ brand vegan frozen items like veggie patties and meatballs. They also have some great vegan frozen dinners, appetizers and ice cream. Their cinnamon rolls are vegan and delicious!! But this is also one of the few stores that are strictly enforcing COVID policies. There was a line because they were limiting the number of people inside. It moved fast though! There was someone outside letting you know which carts were clean and to enforce the mask policy. Trader Joe's is the only store, on the planet with fresh red roses in the gal's bathroom. The Gals bathroom is always spotless and clean with fresh cut dozen of red long stem roses. Call me born again. Those snazzy hawaiian shirts did me in. I've finally found my way back home to Trader Joe's. And I'm better for it. But truly, there is no other store that offers all those quirky things I like. For example, why on earth have I been cutting up my own butternut squash this whole time? And why did I ever forget about their huge assortment of nuts? And I love having several different varieties of salmon to choose from. The best part is uncovering that my favorite tamales are sold here...they were here the entire time! The staff are great. I love their quirky-ness and the community feel inside the store. I have never reviewed a grocery store before but I had to this time. Every experience in TJ, the whole staff is friendly and happy. Always ready to help in whatever way they can. Today was a little different though. I was leaving the store and it was rainy and cold. The main manager was outside with a customer trying to help a disabled customer get their motorized chair back into their van. He went far above his requirements and way beyond his responsibilities - to be kind. In today's world, this is worthy of recognizing and focusing on. My daughter and I went to your store for the first time and it did not disappoint the guy outside the door was friendly and kind I'm really sweet to my daughter Abigail and there was a girl outside who was cleaning off the cards and got one ready for me to put my daughter in and that was before we even entered the store seriously impressed. We get in the store and staff members were kind enough to help me find where toufayan cookie butter which was the whole reason I went there in the first place. I was a little disappointed that you were sold out of cookie butter but we did find some pumpkin soup and pumpkin and squash pasta sauce so it wasn't a loss. I go to check out and the two girls standing there were outstanding friendly and also really sweet with my daughter. I will definitely recommend Trader Joe's to everybody now read more

A great place that my family and I grocery shop at! The team here is always energetic, happy, and pleasant to work with! The shelves here are consistently full and rarely are they out of something. The parking lot is very large and plenty of room to park. Easily accessible to get in and out from the main street. They have a kids section with healthy fruit that each kid can take and munch on as your shopping! We travel here once a week to get our groceries and will continue to do so! read more

Before they came to Knoxville, I didn't have much experience with Trader Joe's in any way, shape, or form. About the extent of knowledge was a hipster friend telling me about Two Buck Chuck wine. When they finally got here, it was kind of a madhouse out there for a few months. Now, it's become a regular stop any time I'm on that side of town. Their selection of a variety of quality foods is kind of amazing. For such a smallish store, and limited selections in each product, their batting average is pretty high. I cannot go there without walking out with a variety of cheese and wine...and Cookie Butter. Ohmylord that Cookie Butter. Our local store is great in that the service is always spectacular. Being an artist, I also love that they have a staff member on hand that does custom signage, window treatments, and price tags. That adds an element of localness, which is greatly appreciated. read more

They have a nice area that will allow you to try anything they sell. How great is that you try before you buy. No need to throw away foods you bought and didn't like. What a joy shopping here! After living in NYC for years where I had a TJ's nearby, I miss having many of their great quality staples in my pantry and freezer. I always like to hit this location before leaving Knoxville to stock up. This Trader Joe's is clean, easy to navigate and cheery. Two separate employees asked me if I needed assistance while I was shopping and the lovely gal at checkout told us all about the yummy things she'd made with some of the items we'd bought -- I love that kind of service! Additionally, this store is conveniently located and super easy to get on/off of I-40/75. 1.5 hours + one insulated bag= a fridge full of yummy food at home My only complaint is that this place isn't in Chattanooga! read more

The favorites get low on stock and the weekends can be crazy busy here but it's worth the trip. Unique organic options, fresh produce, and free samples! From the fresh flowers that greet you to the reasonably priced organic produce, the meat and dairy (and meat substitutes and non-dairy alternatives), the cool snacks, creative frozen foods, and wine... all the things you expect from TJ's. (And recently, an expanding selection of craft beer, too.) The staff is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. And I LOVE the way they carefully and efficiently bag groceries! (It's almost painful to watch as other grocery stores throw random items into soooooo many plastic bags.) Very grateful, too, for the way TJ's has handled pandemic protocols. I'm a west coast girl and Trader Joe's makes me feel right at home! Sure, I wish they served wine, but it's not their fault. Let's talk about things I love: *Prices are always reasonable. They have a great selection of organic products that don't cost as much as my car. I appreciate that. *The staff - It's true what they say. Bird of a flock do stick together. I love the people that work there. They are snarky, fun, and helpful. You can tell that they like their jobs and that makes my experience even better *I LOVE their pre-made salads! They are creative and make packing my work lunch so easy. *Samples. Do I need to say more?! Now aside from the wine issue that I mentioned, the only downside to this Trader Joe's is it's size. It's pretty small and the only real issue with that is that it's always packed. It's not the end of the world, but some days it feels more like a game of frogger than I'd like. Maybe the next Knoxville Trader Joe's will be bigger....hint, hint! Being from California, I am a fan of course. I can always count on TJ's to have the items that I am already accustomed to buying. Yes, this is probably considered as a bias review. Too bad they do not sell liquor or wine here. Beer, yes. I do miss their special liquor sales and wine tasting area. Hopefully a new legislation will pass and we can all drink and be merry. This is a good place to get your packaged power greens at a decent price. Especially if you're not feeding a huge family. Large frozen section, if you're into that. No deli as usual. A particular experience I would like to give a positive shout out for is I was there with my 3 kids on July 9, 2022 and had car trouble, needed a jump start. My love for Trader Joe's runs deep. I often find myself frustrated and overwhelmed by the number of choice at a standard Western grocery store. Trader Joe's gives enough variety but maintains that small feel. There is stuff for ingredients as well as premade meals. While the produce is a little more expensive, many other items are exponentially cheaper than other grocery stores in town. It's fun to invent dinner as I walk the aisles, plus it's my favorite place to shop for fresh flowers, seasonal fruits (gooseberries! - I haven't seen them anywhere else) and yummy snacks (the olive tapenade and smoked salmon dip are my favorites). With attention, I can put together a complete healthy meal, 4 servings, for less than $15 using fresh and frozen products. Also!
