I went in for a bag of cat food. They didn't have the larger size so I decided to buy two of the smaller size. They were on the shelf with a tag $14.50 directly under them. I did the math and after tax it was only a couple of dollars more than the price of the big bag so I went to the front to pay. When she rang it up she came up with $37.90. She tried to say it was because of tax. I said there isn't $18.90 in tax. She said "fine, I'll check with my manager but that's what you're going to pay" in a hateful attitude and headed out to find her. I followed in case there was some misunderstanding. I heard her say "there's some guy arguing with me about the price, what do you want me to do?" They checked the shelf and the girl was right about the price, but wrong about where it was stocked. Where it was stocked had the price that I said. The manager said "just give it to him" and the girl went off to the front in a huff. As she made the correction she said "I'll do it this time but next time you're going to pay full price" as if the decision was hers to make. I asked her why she was so angry that I wanted the price that was on the shelf where the product was stocked. She said "because someone probably moved it." I replied that I could believe that if it was one bag, but did she really believe someone moved ALL of the bags? I continued that she had no reason to be mad and that if it was her on the other side of the counter that she would want the advertised price and not just whatever they came up with at the register. She threw down her keys and told the manager that she refused to help me. The manager finished the transaction, but rather than apologize for the girls horrible attitude and customer service, did so in a huff. I wasn't upset when I went in. I wasn't upset when it rang up wrong. I wasn't even upset when the girl lied and said that I was being argumentative. But I was very upset with the fact that the manager allowed her to pitch a little baby fit and refuse to help me. Any responsible manager would have demanded she finish the transaction and made her apologize for her rude behavior. read more
