There are also a lot of treats and candy that reminded me of a Pier 1 or World Trade Market. And you can find some European brands of things you just can't find in regular stores. I see Lidl as someplace to go occasionally since they are out of the way for us but if we lived closer we would shop more regularly. Ok last thing, lots of people compare this to ALDI. I don't they really are different, the bakery is far better than anything at ALDI, they also sell lower end oddities like a Dollar store, and many German or EU food products. They do carry some of the low-end brands that ALDI sells and for both stores that's part of their value. Some folks are ok to have 3rd rate quality to save a little money. For us we are selective and I don't mind hitting several grocery stores to get the best that each offers.

I love getting my spices here (reason for the stop) but I noticed the prices have gone up and the ones I like were no longer there. I ended up getting a few other things I had not planned on since the prices were good. It seems to be a hit and miss with the prices. I know everyone has been going up but I am disappointed when I go in for a specific item and it is not there. I don't live close so I only get here once or twice a year. I will continue to stop in to see what they have and hopefully pick up my favorites. 4/18/26

I was very excited to stop at the Piggly Wiggly in Beaufort. There was one in my town when I moved,…read morebut it closed soon after, and I always liked the store. This is a smaller grocery store that is clean and well-organized. I thought the prices were pretty good and was planning to stop back to shop on my way out of town, as the prices were less than I was used to, and I wanted those deals. This store carried items I hadn't seen before. But as it is smaller, the brands they carry are fewer than I am accustomed to, with a lot of the products. And other products had more selection than I could imagine, so maybe they order just what those who shop there want. I wanted to try the breakfast in the restaurant inside the store, too, as I really enjoyed my burger and fries. It will be my first stop in Beaufort on my next visit.

Pretty much dining hall ambience, nothing fancy. But nice. Comfortable. People are super friendly. Yes,you can get fried this, and French fries that if you want, but I opted for baked chicken, mustard greens, and fried okra. I think all for around $10. The simplicity, health, and value set this lunch counter apart. It's like going back in time. Don't change!

The produce section was not as plentiful as what we are accustomed to. Do Coastal Carolinians eat veggies? If so, I'd like to know where they shop for them. There were only 2 people running the check-out lines, both lines were wrapped all through the front of the store. We opted for the self-checkout, despite having a crap-ton if items. As expected, we were quicker than the folks in the line, even with a register that help needing assistance "your item does not match the weight, assistance is on the way". Geez! I heard it a million times. Some calibration may be needed on their scales. Nevertheless, we got most of what we needed and didn't kill each other before leaving.
