From now on before I buy anything elsewhere I'll be checking here first. They are expecting frequent deliveries so stock will change quickly and they plan to expand into the space next door soon. I walked around the area on the left and saw some cute baby clothes and outside table. The prices weren't great. I then noticed a customer scanning the price of the outside table with her phone. She was nice enough to explain that I needed to download the app and then scan. Well - I don't need anymore apps so I walked over to the right side of the store. This side had large bins full of stuff. You name it, it is probably there if you want to dig. On this particular day, everything was $2. I did purchase a Fanny belt for my iPhone. Upon returning to my car, I washed my hands. Maybe wear gloves if you want to do some serious digging! Not a place I'd race back to.

I appreciate that they have color tag sales but the colors are confusing. Yellow looks just like orange, for example. The store itself could use some improvements. It's typically pretty dirty and they racks of clothes just pushed into random spots around the store so it's very cluttered and difficult to navigate. There's also very little rhyme or reason to how most of the Knick-knacks and books are organized. It's just kids books and adult books, not separated by genre or even fiction vs. nonfiction. The service is always pretty good. The people are friendly and say hello and goodbye. It's still not anywhere close to the best thrift store in the area but they have improved a little bit. I do think it's terrible how much prices have gone up in the last several years. The point of thrift stores is for low-income people to have the chance to buy good quality things secondhand for an affordable price. A lot of these places are forgetting that.

Their prices were good compared to other thrift stores. I did not look at the clothing prices which tend to be ridiculous at most thrift stores. We did not have to wait long at all to check out and the woman was friendly. I have been to the other Blessings Abound thrift store in Overland Park, but not this one. We prefer I shop locally whenever possible. This is our store now. My wife's diamond tennis bracelet had some issue with the safety clasp. I don't know about that stuff. But these folks fixed it while we waited and it cost less than $10. The next time I need a watch battery or jewelry for my wife to purchase or clean her existing, we'll be coming here. I was so impressed with the store that I did some thrift thing for the first time in a couple of decades. The staff was super helpful and kind, most folks there are volunteers. I was able to find a pin striped suit that fit me for $30. All I have to do is get the pants hemmed because I am short. I also got a couple of shirts, including a KC Royals shirt for five dollars because I didn't have one. Students and teachers get discounts on Friday and seniors 55+ get 25% off on Wednesdays. I love that this store works with people who are transitioning from being unhoused to housed and they let them come in and select whatever they need for their new place with no charges. For this reason, we will be making all of our donations at Hillcrest thrift store from now on.
