I just wanted to update my review because I still continue to come here…read more I prefer Food Lion prices to another local grocery store chain because I feel like Food Lion is a little less expensive. I have come here and they are very low on pretty much all of their produce and vegetables. I have also came here and they are fully stocked like today. I was able to find everything I needed. I really love that they had a section of baked goods that were made in a peanut free facility since I do have a child with an allergy. Our cashier was very friendly and I I really appreciate that. I would up at the five stars but I do come here frequently and there are days where they are very low on everything so I will keep it at 4 stars.

I'm only here temporarily for an internship (4 months), so naturally I needed to get some food and basic necessities for my apartment. Food Lion was the closest grocery store to my location (don't have a car), and based off the current 3 star reviews, I was expecting a limited selection, high prices, and bad service... Not the case. Food Lion has a very wide selection, from food to house maintenance (even tupper-ware) it carries a high variety of items that any common household might need, and it also has loyalty reward system (free - called MVP). I recently turned vegetarian and to my surprise, they even had meat substitute products (Tofurkey, and Morning Star). Got me some Deutsche beers (good variety available), produce, and necessities; it's a full-on grocery store. Lastly, I talked to two employees - one to inquire on availability of vegetarian substitute products, and the other the cashier - and both were friendly enough and helpful (my cashier was very amiable, shoutout to you Dillon, great attitude). If you're from the West Coast/California, this store is comparable to Pavilions//Vons, Ralphs, Walgreens. Not bad. I hope people with a good experience will rate this place accordingly; it deserves better ratings. Hope this helps to anyone new in the area. Cheers.

I've literally never had a bad experience. They always are so polite and go out of their way to help! They have a wonderful selection of flowers that have only gone empty on Mother's Day weekend. I get flowers from them every 2 weeks, they last pretty long. Unlike the majority of the fruit from regular grocery stores, theirs doesn't go bad fast. Despite all of the viral foods that make all of the random ppl come here to record, it's not bad if you come at the right times. Their selection of products are the absolutely best. I had my favorite items and look forward to the new finds. The store is always clean and there are always good vibes. Corey the manager is pretty awesome & always goes out of his way. Amani is one of my favorite associates that I look forward to seeing And my "wine guy" Phil gives THEE best wine recommendations. He hasn't failed me in the last 3 years. Overall, I simply love this place.

Who would have thought with a name like Uncle's Farm, that it would be disguised as a Korean…read moregrocery store or in Korean "hanguk shikpoom"? I was told by some trusted sources that there were two other mom-and-pop Korean grocery stores other than the Grand Mart and E-marts of the area! I happened to be in the Peninsula and decided to pop in for some goodies before my next appointment. When you walk in, to the left, they have the refrigerators with the produce and the wall in the back is lined with more fridges and freezers to store all the cold, perishable and frozen items. I saw things like fresh perilla leaves, kongnamul (Korean bean sprouts) and what I loved about this particular mart was that they had a good variety of ready, grab-n-go banchan in smaller sizes. I was told by the nice lady who worked there that they make kimbap on the daily (if you didn't know, the best and cheapest way to get kimbap is at almost all the Korean grocery stores). She also said that the owner makes all the banchan and usually makes them on fridays. I picked up things like purple potato starch noodles (say what?! The noodles used for japchae are purple...maybe the Koreans are getting on the ube train...), a box of Bacchus-D (Korean energy drink that was the inspo behind Red Bull), Banana milk, Coffee milk, and some Korean ssuk gae-tteok, which is a chrysanthemum leaf rice cake (or muwgwort), coated in a bean powder! It was SO GOOD and so fresh! It's a Korean version of mochi, if you're familiar with that. All in all, I can't wait to go back and stock up on banchan that I am too lazy to make and try their kimbap. Things to note: I was told that this is strictly a Korean grocery store and not an "International" one as most of the Asian grocery stores label themselves. There are no other products related to other Asian cuisines, just Korean. Enjoy, Friends!

Food Lion is the only grocery store of Cape Charles and basically the main hub for everything in the town. Cape Charles doesn't have a chain drug store like a CVS or Walgreens (which nearly made this city girl pass out), so for anything you need, you can count on going here. The makeup section is quite literally just a very slender few rows of items that's heavily picked over. But, again, this is a Food Lion. You're probably here for food (but if you forgot to pack something, pray to Jesus you can find something here to suffice). We purchased some groceries for our few days in Cape Charles and were able to find everything we needed, including a few housemade pasta salads and a fried chicken. The store is very organized and clean and surprisingly big for this tiny town. This grocery store will get you through your weekend trip the way it did for us!

First off, yeah, they know lots of folks are going to want alcohol, and I think half of the aisle endcaps displayed something alcoholic. While they had a lot of classic and domestic products, they do offer a decent amount of local beer, wine, and pre-mixed cocktails (even though the Untappd app said the local beer I was looking for wasn't sold anywhere in a 25 mile radius, Island Foods had it!). We came the week of Pony Penning, and the store makes a couple dozen cakes (see picture) to celebrate the occasion. The produce aisle is small, but they have enough that you could get a decent variety of fruits and vegetables for your stay. There's a pretty decent selection of meats here. I don't remember seeing too much non-frozen seafood, but I imagine it's hard to compete with the fresh catch with specialty fish markets on the island. I was pleasantly surprised to find several Gardein products, which meant vegetarian Child #1 could have some imitation meats and seafood if he wanted a protein similar to what the rest of his omnivorous family would get. Things are pricey. Inflation's here to stay and it's a touristy beach town. Considering that, it's not too bad. The folks at the register were very friendly. Whatever foodstuffs you're looking for, it's a good bet that Island Foods has it.
