Pruett's Food May 22, 2026…read more (2/5) I want to start by being completely fair to this store, because it absolutely earned it on first impression: Pruett's Food has one of the most striking and genuinely unique interiors I have ever seen in a grocery store. Walking in, you're greeted by a dramatic cluster of glowing red orb lights suspended over the snack aisle, a massive artificial ivy tree built right into the center of the floor as a centerpiece, the word "HEARTY" spelled out in hedge-style topiary lettering, glowing neon department signs over sections like the juice area, and lush greenery, ferns, and floral displays scattered throughout. There were even framed western-style portraits lining one of the walls, giving the place a real sense of character and identity. The seafood case was beautifully arranged and generously stocked with crab, salmon, shrimp, and more, all garnished with greenery and presented like something out of a high-end specialty market. The fresh marinated meat case was just as impressive, with variety marinade chicken drumsticks at $1.59 a pound and a whole spread of seasoned wings, kabobs, and skewers that genuinely looked fantastic. The produce section was bright and full, with watermelon slices, blueberries, and seasonal fruit on attractive curved wooden display racks, and sale prices throughout the store were strong. On atmosphere, merchandising, and presentation alone, this place is a 5-star experience, and you can tell real money and real thought went into the design. That is exactly why what happened next was so disappointing. I picked up a jar of Miracle Whip during my visit, and when I got home and looked at the packaging, it was stamped "Best When Used By 14MAY2026." My visit was on May 22, which means the product I was sold was a full eight days past the date printed right on it. Selling something already past its labeled freshness date isn't a tiny oversight to me, and it stings even more in a store that has so clearly invested in looking fresh, abundant, and premium at every turn. What really drives it home is the company's own slogan, printed right on their shopping bag: "Home of the ProFRESHionals." When a grocery store builds its entire brand and its gorgeous interior around the idea of freshness, and then sends a first-time customer home with an out-of-date product, the polish starts to feel like a façade. All the orb lights, topiary lettering, neon signs, and beautiful display cases in the world don't matter if the basics of stock rotation and date-checking aren't being handled on the shelf where it actually counts. A single jar slipping through wouldn't end the world on its own, but as a first impression it immediately made me wonder what else on those shelves isn't being checked, and that doubt quietly followed me through everything else I'd already put in my cart. It's a genuine shame, because the bones of this place are excellent. The atmosphere is fun and distinctive, the meat and seafood departments looked top-tier, the produce was inviting, and the pricing was competitive. If the freshness and stock practices matched the presentation, this would easily be one of my favorite stores in the area, and I'd happily make it a regular stop. As it stands, the gap between how good it looks and the expired product I actually carried out the door is just too wide to ignore. My honest advice to anyone shopping here is to enjoy the atmosphere, but check the date on every single item before it goes in your cart and again at checkout. Freshness should be the store's responsibility, especially for a place that puts the word right in its own name. I walked in genuinely impressed and hoping I'd stumbled onto a new favorite, and I walked out, unfortunately, with no plans to return.

First of all, I must say that when I walked into the store I inhaled deeply because it smells really great from the essential oil scented products. The fruits and vegetables are arranged beautifully and are generally priced well - some are a bit high but we do have a lot of choices about where we buy these items. Most are typical pricing. It is interesting to see the variety of products available: bulk nuts & grains, large selection of meats, canned goods, fermented and pickled items, and all the other products you'd expect from a grocer. There are many new-to-us products which pique curiosity. The BEST section is the HUGE supplement area! WOW! No more hunting online for X, Y, and Z....Natural Grocers has everything stocked. There's also a large selection of personal care products and makeup. I love visiting this store. ***Sign up for the customer appreciation emails. The deals are terrific!

This place has it all from fresh produce to an area in the back for classes or what not to all the natural vitamins under the sun. Though like any organic place you will pay for it pretty good, though that's up to you to decide if it's worth it. I simply love the location, and the service is always friendly when in need. They also have weekly deals in their magazine at the door. Y'all need to stumble in if your around and give this a try at least. I think you'll like what you see!

I would say this grocery store is better than Uptown, Kroger or any of the "General Mills" chains. I still like the OG TJ's better than the cheap short-cuts and ruthless business practices they have now. It only means I've moved a majority of my shopping to Whole Foods and Costco. Now this location - The staff is so helpful and friendly here. I really like they offer buckets for flowers - they have a great selection. Personally, I find the berry produce to go bad very quickly. Still find great quality & low prices on meats, cheeses and produce! I buy canned goods and sauces here too. They offer a great selection of wine as well. My dog loves their chicken treats. Over all - great shopping experience, fair prices and good quality. Just don't let the parking lot experience ruin it for you. Most Nichols Hills parking lots make you want to tear your hair out.

They have a lot of really good frozen dinners that look high-quality and they have a lot of organic options as well. Had a bit of their frozen foods and pretty much all the Asian dishes are amazing. One of my favorite chips is their lentil curls. I love getting that. I pretty much can eat that whole bag on my way home. They are so delicious. They usually have all of their cashiers open, which is nice. You can usually get in and out pretty fast. They also have a lot of really interesting things around the holiday time. Around Thanksgiving they have a delicious maple popcorn that's bomb. I wish they would open one in Midwest city because I would go literally weekly. Store is always clean inside and employees are very friendly and helping you with whatever you need.

After having shopped at Pruett's (formerly Buy For Less) for many years, it has become clear that the prices at WinCo cannot be beat. Yes, Crest has some great deals, but that location (NW 23rd & Meridian) is awful to visit for several reasons as well. I prefer to go during off-peak hours, because it can get very busy and crowded. I really like the bulk section as well having more options than many other similar setups at other stores. They don't have everything I want all of the time, but overall their selection works for me. Their WinCo brand products have super low prices as well which I often opt for over brand names. Happy this store is in OKC!

The only recurring issue we've noticed is with the dairy department. Expiration dates don't seem to be monitored consistently. On several occasions, we've found entire pallets of milk with expiration dates that were the next day, leaving customers very little time to use the product. The same issue applies to yogurt. We've also found expired yogurt still being sold on the shelves instead of being removed. While we understand that an occasional item can be overlooked, this has happened often enough that it appears to be an ongoing problem. We truly enjoy shopping at WinCo and hope this feedback helps improve an otherwise outstanding store.
