The only thing UPTOWN about this place is the Price. The bakery is 2nd rate at best. The Deli is lack luster and they leave cut meat out in the open, every day on display. The produce was always the worst, they are finally starting to get some USA produce (thank God for tariffs). Prices are way higher when compared to Crest and WalMart. This review is for the bakery. I ordered a Cars themed birthday cake for my son's birthday. I placed the order in person and gave them a picture of what I wanted. I also sent my order via e-mail with a picture, as asked to do so. One difference that I wanted from the picture is that instead of a round road, I wanted a straight road, from the back to the front of the cake. I also stated in my e-mail that if my requests were not able to be done to please let me know before they made the cake. A few days after I sent the e-mail, I didn't get a response, so I just wanted to follow up and make sure they received it and called them. I spoke to a very friendly young lady and went over every aspect of my order with her, especially making sure they knew how I wanted the road. Well, I picked up the cake today and not only is it obvious that it was quickly decorated (very sloppy) but for some reason the road doesn't go all the way to the front edge of the cake. Not only that, the width of the road is uneven. To be fair, I didn't notice the road didn't go to the edge until I got home. When I called to ask why the hadn't made the road to the edge of the top of the cake I was told, "He had to write the name so he couldn't make it to the edge." The name is on the FRONT of the cake, not the top. When I told the woman on the phone that that answer didn't make sense to me because the road wouldn't be anywhere near the name if it was finished all the way, she just continued to tell me it couldn't be done. That's when I pointed out to her that I asked in person, and said specifically, in my email that if they couldn't do what I was asking for to let me know ahead of time. Then she told me that they did the cake to the "best of the their understanding." She, rudely, told me to bring the cake back and they'll make it to the edge. I told her that I didn't have time. But also, if it wasn't possible to do when they were making the cake how would it now, all of a sudden, be possible. She just repeated that they did it to the "best of their understanding." I was so upset over this being made out to be MY fault and being spoken to so rudely that I told her that they don't have very good understanding and that it's not rocket science. Because it's not. It's a strip of frosting to the edge of the top of a cake. I'm not a professional baker or cake decorator but I know it is possible. So, if you need a cake with a design, like a strip of frosting, that you want to go from edge to edge on the top of a cake, this isn't the place to order it. I've ordered all my cakes from Uptown Bakery in Edmond for the last eight years but this is the end of the road for me. read more

This store is fantastic. So much variety, very clean, great service and amazing meat section. The only thing I did not care for is their cakes, pastries, tarts etc...in the bakery dept. they did not look good or pretty to the eye. possibly ordering a custom cake would be much different? However, what they had available without an order wasn't really appealing. Look and flavor wise. I have always loved fresh fruit tarts. The ones here looked awful. We ended up getting one of their cakes in the cooler section right next to the bakery counter. Up town did not make the cake, it was shipped in. it was good, nothing fancy, but tasted good and was cute. I highly recommend this store for all your needs, even flowers. read more

I wanted to like this store, because I loved the Uptown in the village when I lived in OKC. But my first few visits here have been less than impressive. It looks good, but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. At the OKC Uptown, you don't have to look too closely at the expiration dates; I never found anything there that was even close to spoiling. Maybe they just have a bigger clientele and turn things over more quickly? Maybe they do a better job in general of turning things over? This Edmond Uptown I learned pretty quickly to check each expiration date, or you'll be buying food that's within days of it's expiry date. And I feel like that's one thing. But what's worse is what went down at the meat counter on my first ever visit to this grocery store. I bought chicken on a Sunday, to cook on Monday. I ordered directly from the butcher, the nicest chicken they sold. I got it home and put it in the fridge. I did not make any stops or run any other errands before I got home and put my groceries up. The next day, my husband was starting to cook dinner when he came and asked me how old the chicken was. I said I got it yesterday, and he said, well, then they sold you chicken that was already spoiled, because this chicken looks and smells old AF. I went to take a look for myself and I was shocked. It was not just a little bit past its prime. It was completely rancid. It's hard to imagine they pulled that chicken and packaged it for me without realizing something wasn't right. I should have taken it back, but this Uptown is so far from where we live. I couldn't just pop back in the car and run it over there at dinner time, with two small kids at home, while also having to come up with something else to cook on the fly, since I had to throw the chicken out. I usually give managers the chance to make something right before writing a bad review, but in this case, they had the chance to check the chicken before they wrapped it up and handed it to me, and they didn't. I'm not saying I will never go back, but it's not my top choice and I won't go out of my way to shop here as I did at the OKC location. read more

On New Year's Eve I went to this location off Covell in Edmond for a great birthday cake. Dec 31st is my birthday and also a friend's birthday. I was cheerfully greeted and assisted by a young woman, brunette hair working behind the bakery counter. I purchased pie-sized fruit tart and a white cake with fruit and chocolate on top of a whipped white cream frosting. Both were to die for. Next I saw a special sale on fresh roses and went to the floral department where I was expertly and wonderfully cared for by very pleasant Shea! She designed and wrapped the 2 rose bouquets so well she made me look brilliant in presenting these later that evening. This definitely was a 5 out of 5 Stars shopping and customer experience! 10/10/2022 Went to the deli to order dinner for evening. It was a long day and I wasn't in the mood to cook. I ordered the Chicken Scallopini and the Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The chicken was the driest thing I have ever eaten and the "Roasted" Brussel Sprouts were just blatantly raw and uncooked. I also had left over homemade, by myself, red potatoes. The potatoes were great and had absolutely nothing to do with Uptown Grocery. Here is a picture of the food I ordered. The chicken is inedible as so is the Brussel sprouts. What a horrible experience. I'd rather drive further and pay more for better quality food. Odds of me returning to patron this company is.... Slim to none. read more

Prices here are slightly above average, but not terrible! Their deli department is absolutely lovely, and their bakery side looks very extensive as well. They have a little florist section inside as well, which I haven't ordered anything from - but it looks pretty decent! They have a huge sushi and cheese selection - and while the sushi rice wasn't seasoned as well, the fish they used was definitely good. Nice big rolls as well, for a decent price so props to them for that! The groceries in general were alright, they seem to have a pretty good selection of many things - especially the spices!! Some international things can be found here too, but it's not as extensive as the one in South OKC. Still, people here are friendly, interior is nice, food was decent - we'd come back! read more

First impression: clean, organized, and well-stocked. Do they have everything? No. There was a wall of yogurt options, but no Chocolate Coconut Krimi Skyr to be had. Siggi's blueberry was the sub. Still, I did like browsing here. The confectionary display has some real eye candy. The produce area is small, but I found my sugar snap peas. They have a large cafeteria area with prepared soups, hot dishes, deli, and a small, comfortable looking seating area adjacent. I went too late to try it out. The rest of the store has the standard Meijer/Kroger type aisles. Bought the ingredients for a riff on a salmon sauce. Was so good it's now known as ridiculous sauce. We owners are rude and short with shoppers and staff(which are mostly kind). They pipe in church music, which is extremely inappropriate and weird. The prices are the highest in our area so get ready to be paying even more at checkout. They took out all the wine, so you can't even get a bottle there to go with dinner. They don't have a plastic bag recycle box and refuse to put one up even when asked. I'd say very backwards and snobby without reason. read more

I love this grocery store. I like how they carry both "regular" and organic options in both foods and hygienic items. We typically come here for last minute items since, it's pretty much a one stop shop for us. Prices are competitive, and they have sales on certain items regularly. I like how they carry Kicking Horse coffees and Dr. Bronners soaps. Taking one star off, because we can no longer get wine here after the transition to a new owner, but the store is clean, and you'll probably find what you're looking for! read more

When I walked in I was excited to shop, it looks like a Market Street with a nice layout and lots of options. Avoiding this one at all cost. Lots of spoiled produce on display, unusually higher prices than Sprouts or Natural Grocers even Whole Foods. Couldn't find blueberries that didn't have mold growing, avocados were all super bruised and old. Not sure what's going on here but steer clear is all I can say. I want to start this review off by saying that I love the donuts from the Uptown Grocery, especially the glazed cronuts. The reason for my negative review and not recommending it is because the past three times I've gone to Uptown in Edmond they have been sold out of the glazed cronuts as well as a few other popular donuts. All three visits were at or before 8:30am (they open at 7am). I cannot fathom why the bakery consistently makes so few of their obvious most sought after donuts that they sell out at such an early time. If I were coming in at 10am or later then I could understand the selection being more limited but to be sold out within an hour or so? That comes off as incompetence and poor inventory management. And I get that sometimes someone will come in and buy more that you were expecting and it leaves your stock lower than desired, but for this to have now happened three consecutive times? That no longer is an outlier but a pattern that should lead to them correcting the issue at hand. And before the "you should have called ahead" comments, I did try and call ahead before the third incident but their phone systems were either down or they were not picking up. So because of the bakeries inability to supply the consumer with their product, I cannot recommend Uptown Bakery for your morning Donut needs. read more

Good place to get fresh food. Nice selection on pre-made lunch and dinner items. Soups, salads, fresh veggies. They have an eating area to rest your feet after the exausting chore of thumping fresh melons and picking out fruit. My favorite part is they have to-go packets of sushi ginger! Way coool! Uptown is a locally owned and operated grocery store in Oklahoma with one location in Edmond and another in The Village. I initially stayed away from this place because I was told it was super expensive. I checked it out for myself and found the prices to be very reasonable. On my most recent trip I came from the gym. I was tempted by the 55 cent doughnuts but managed to muster up the willpower to walk past them. This is a unique and vibrant grocery store. As you walk in and walk down the aisles, you get a sense of just how fresh everything is. While the store is spacious on the inside and has an open feel, it's never taken me a long time to find what I'm looking for. The cashiers are very friendly and checkout lines move fast which is a big plus for me. They also offer an online ordering service where you can order your food and pick it up at the store once you get there. read more

I LOVE this grocery store!! It has a great feel and layout and many of the prices are very competitive. The best thing to do if you shop here frequently is to get their app. They give FREE food items EVERY WEEK!! It'a almost too good to be true. They also have tons of coupons on their app and you get $5 back for every $400 you spend. Another incredible find ag this store is their donuts/pastries. They are some of the best I have had (especially their almond cresoint) and more affordable than any other donut shop. It's a no-btainer. If you want until after 530pm you can get an end of day box, which is a dozen pastries for under $2. What a steal! I only wish we had one closer to our house. I have been here too many times to count and only had an issue with a return once and that was primarily with management. I ended up talking to the company itself who did an exchange for me without any hassle and told me Uptown should have done it without question. Aside that issue I've had very pleasant experiences here. I even ordered a cake for my fiancés mother to celebrate her 60th birthday and everyone loved it. The cake was done to perfection and the price was reasonable. Between their hot lunches & dinners (I've yet to make it to their brunch) and the bakery, Uptown hasn't failed me yet. I'm from out of town and was extremely happy to find this place.. it definitely has the feel of a Whole Foods but better! The quality and freshness of the produce was spot on.. that's something very important to me.. I shopped here during the corona pandemic and was pleased to find the shelves nearly 90% full.. I'm From the west coast and friendly cashiers are hard to come by.. every cashier here is friendly and had a good sense of humor despite the issue at hand.... In terms of selection and quality this is the best grocery in Edmond. While they have a superior selection of prepared items they also have a strong focus on organic, sustainable and local items. It's possible to find better prices but it's really hard to beat the quality of this store. The staff go out of their way to be kind to my father who due to some difficulties isn't particularly mobile or articulate. They are particular to greet him when he comes. I find it somewhat touching that they do so. The also do holiday meals which has become a real aid to my mother. for a fixed price they will provide a complete holiday meal for pick up. read more

I love coming to Uptown! Always fresh and clean. I enjoy the bakery and sweets area. By enjoy, I mean I enjoy walking by and mesmerizing the delicious looking desserts. I haven't bought any desserts from there because I've been very good at having self-control to eat better. I have tried their cranberry kale salad and baked potato for side items we bought for a party, and they are amazing! If you go on the weekends, they have samples of different things each week. I love to come here for vegetables and fruits. I have yet to venture to the other side because I've only recently made my discovery. So far, I love what I see! read more

Went there for the first time tonight. I was extremely disappointed. The store is very small, and the product selection is very limited. Several items I purchase on a regular basis are just not carried. Their pricing is outrageously high. For instance, the standard price for Hunt's canned tomatoes around town is around $1.00 per can. Uptown's price? $1.38. The groceries I purchased would have cost me around $110 where I used to shop. My bill tonight was $145. Assuming that the other store is running an 18% profit margin, Uptown has to be around 35%, close to convenience store pricing. I just simply cannot afford to give my money away.
