you will spend more time waiting in line at the self service checkout. Then you do in the store…read moreitself, even if you're buying two carts full of stuff, be prepared to wait because there's only one real cashier and half the self checkouts are always down and a poor person running the self checkouts always have a look like they're in need of trauma therapy The door greeters are always super sweet though and their automotive department, although grungy, is quick, efficient, and the workers are kind and seem to know what they're doing. Other than that, there is almost always stock pallets on the floor, there's never anyone in electronics (the one place I would actually need staff as what I need is locked behind a plexiglass case) and add in how dirty it feels in there, how disgusting the bathrooms are (I've walked into them twice and turned around and noped right back out), and the fact that any produce you buy will mold within 24 hours (seriously... you'll be lucky you get 24 hours. I start buying my produce at Aldi within a few months after I moved here, because anything I bought in the produce section went bad within 24 hours). None of what I've listed above. Is the reason I quit going there though. After all, I can get produce at Aldi and I can deal with a little grunge to save some money, but I cannot handle seeing people treat their staff like animals. And I've seen that in this store. I've actually seen a manager tear apart an associate, for more than five minutes, but less than 10, he just screamed at this kid, and the poor guy couldn't say anything back, because even when the manager yelled "answer me" and the kid started to, the manager just interrupted and continued yelling at him and pointing his fingers in the poor kids face, who looked like he was gonna cry because obviously everyone was watching (unfortunately, including me... which I feel awful about). Thankfully, shortly after I saw that manager chew up and spit out one of his workers on the floor,(tall, pudgy, bald, old guy, who kept wiping sweat off his face//head/beard with his hand and wiping it on his obviously unwashed clothes, associate he was chewing on, was more put together and looked more professional than the manager on the power trip, did! Not trying to be mean, but the manager looked very unclean, was wearing an ugly green cargo shirt that he had rolled the sleeves up on and had a tattoo of a skull with a knife or sword through it that was bleeding that covered his arm, and had on jeans with a hole in the back pocket, with what looked like a beige, vinyl/velcro belt that they make for preschoolers holding them on. So not only was he acting extremely unprofessional, and seemed like he was on a power trip because he's a Walmart manager, he looked extremely unprofessional as well. I was shocked when the sweet old man who was the door greeter on the grocery side entrance, told me he was a "coach" and when I asked where on the totem pole that was, for employees, he said just below GM. (yes this all happened in the very front of the store, and I saw it when I first came in. He was so loud and belligerent towards this poor kid that it immediately drew attention, so I asked the door greeter). He was just downright cruel to that poor kid who didn't deserve the dressing down he got. I don't even know what he did, but as long as it wasn't murder, he didn't deserve the dressing down. he got. That was my final straw with this store and why I will not go back. I was able to overlook everything wrong with it to get a cheaper price, but that was where I drew the line. Plus, it's nice to go to different places to get my groceries and household items where the Collinsville Police Department blotter isn't filled with nothing but calls to that store, to the point, there's almost always a cop car sitting outside of it, and they have personal security that Walmart has hired! (slight over exaggeration, about the police blotter, but only slight... as 85 to 90% of what calls they get are to the Collinsville Walmart). I'm giving it two stars because of the automotive department and the door greeters and they do deserve recognition for working as hard as they do against such odds. If I could review them separately, I would give them five stars and give the Collinsville Walmart supercenter as low as I could.

I'm the only one here" sarcastically she says " Yes you do before I can help you" wow i said "No I don't" and left the store Never ever shopping at Schnucks again

Schnucks has made a lot of changes since the last time I was here. Some good, some not so good. I do love that they have Boars Head meats and a very nice bakery too. The store was laid out much better and very clean. It felt more organized. Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly. One thing I don't like about Schnucks is you have to wait in line to be checked out. Then you are designated a lane to go to. I find that odd. Another thing that really surprised me is they have monitors on their carts. If you leave the store without paying I guess the wheels lock. I guess that's one way to curb shop and runs. Hubby thought it would be dangerous if it screwed up and for some reason thought you hadn't paid when you had. That would be embarrassing. I'm not sure about that, I think I 'll carry my groceries out by hand just in case. lol Has theft become so much of a problem they have to do this? I find that a bit scary and sad. However, very nice store!

The record store portion of the business featured a very good selection of alphabetically- sorted used rock vinyl, including many import pressings ... as well as a few new LPs (including recent RSD releases). Budget-priced discs were in crates below and behind the primary inventory. They also had some jazz, blues, folk/country, and a few classical records. They even had two different releases by my favorite 60's band, Moby Grape!! While the records alone would have brought me back to this store, fully half of their location is dedicated to high-end hi-fi equipment: turntabless, CD players, amp, speakers, etc. I have been wanted to rebuild my home audio for over 30 years ... but after several major geographic relocations, I no longer knew where to start. Well folks, this is it! Mike, the owner, is extremely knowledgable in all matters stereo - and will demo different set-ups at your request. Very high end, audiophile equipment. There's more stuff to explore, but please trust me, it's a great store. The good old days for a record collector like me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
