They had an array of aisles of items that some would think were more than one dollar, but weren't. Anything you wanted, they had it. Upon entering the store, they even had bolts of carpet for stairs that was one dollar a foot! I came out with a big bag full one dollar treasures that l knew l could not find in the Dollar Tree stores. Everytime l come to Reading, this is one of my stops. The sales associates are always pleasant and there is never a time that you would leave this store empty handed. Check it out if you are in the area.

As she was ringing me up, the cashier asked me lots of questions about the mission and listened to me ramble on about the shoe box gifts we send out. I wasn't part of the conversation, yet I felt deeply uncomfortable just overhearing it. The only thing that is perpetually negative and drives customers crazy Is the fact that they don't have enough Staff. When you go to a register you can never find anybody. When you walk the floor and find someone and ask for help you always hear "that's not my department " and they will walk away Telling you they will find someone to help you and they never do. So keeping that in mind you have to be assertive when you shop here. If you insist that they stay here and help you because you are a customer, they usually will. But you must be assertive. This is something that I've put up with for years because it's totally worth it shopping here. But its a total reduction of 1 star. - whenever they have a sale they have plenty of each item in stock. - Their items are of good and higher quality and don't break or fall apart. - Their jewelry department offers high-quality, beautiful pieces that when not on sale , are very reasonably priced. When you happen to catch a Sale in the jewelry department, which is fairly often per year- you can really walk away with a few steals and great bargains. I'm still wearing jewelry from the year 2000 that has held up. And for Valentine's Day this year I was gifted with two rings and two pair of earrings that are just so pretty. And I know he got great bargains on these pieces. - They still have a bona fide candy department with dozens and dozens of options. On a recent visit to the store to purchase 3 items, I got behind another customer in the only check…read moreout line that was open. The cashier rung up the gentlemen's order but could not scan his coupon with the scanning gun. He called for the manager who came over about a minute later and also could not get the gun to work. After about another 2 minutes of trying to figure out why the gun wasn't working, the manager suspended the transaction and took the gentleman to another register to finish his transaction. Meanwhile, my cashier could not use his register without the manager re-opening it. At this point, there are about 8 other customers in line behind me. After finishing the other transaction, the manager spends about 1 minute talking to another employee before coming back to my check out line. Magically, 2 more check out lines open up. With nowhere to go since my items were already on the belt, the other customers flock to the newly opened lines. I have now been standing here quietly for 10 minutes and in that time neither the cashier nor, and most especially, the manager never once acknowledged me or apologized for the inconvenience. Upon her arrival at the check out line, the manager took out the cash drawer and for the first time (and without apology) said anything to me. She informed me that: "You have to go get in another line." Upon telling her that I should not have to go to the back of a line and that she should ring up my order, she responded by saying: "No, you have to go to another line", I told her once again that she should ring up my order and she once again responded: "NO." Needless to say, I left the store without purchasing my 3 items, and I will never be back. I have seen some people that should not be considered "management" in my day but this one was the worst. No acknowledgement, no apology for my inconvenience and just expecting me to pick up my stuff and wait in the back of another line after I had already wasted 10 minutes of my time just because she didn't feel like ringing up my 3 items. PATHETIC!!!

The ready to eat food section has a large selection, especially fried chicken on Mondays, which are great here. They do carry other beverages to buy with an ID and have a good collection. They do carry seasonal items for spring, summer, and even holiday season. The daily section is the breads, the usual groceries, and everything is sufficient enough to complete your grocery shopping in one place. The stuff is generally courteous, and the service is definitely on par with other grocery stores.
