I went to Dollar General to pick a few small things I forgot to pack when coming to FL. I wanted a notebook and index cards. They didn't have any of the size cards I wanted in stock on the shelf. I noticed right away the layout of the store had changed since the last time I shopped there and decided to look around. I leisurely strolled through the aisles picking up a few items here and there went to the register to be greeted by the worst employee, I have ever encountered in a store, especially here in Florida! This woman was the most miserable RUDE person I have ever met in a store. I don't have Dollar General in my area where I live so shopping there is different to me. After this encounter, I am going to question doing that again anytime in the near future if that is the type of employee they hire. When I approached the store people she knew were parked in the handicapped space chit chatting with her at the entrance. Neither had a plaque or plate and she definitely did not tell them to move when someone with a plate arrived at the store who had to park elsewhere. When I was checking out she was mad I paid cash and asked her to wait so I could get the exact change. Then when exiting the store the customer behind me caught up and made a verbal comment "someone doesn't like their job" because she was rude to her as well. I replied "She was extremely rude and it is definitely uncalled for". The economy is stressful and businesses are struggling. Remember, you are as good as your employees and there are better places consumers can go. Next time, I'll run to Dollar Tree instead! I won't be going back there. read more
