On our way up we needed to pick up an item and I didn't want to make a stop at a big box store. Knowing how frequent Dollar General Locations are becoming I knew that I would come across a few of them on our trek. It did not surprise me that Breezewood had a location. Like many other rural areas it is about the only thing to grab a few pantry staples.
This is located a bit off the commercial area around the Interstate interchange. Unless you are driving away from the interchange you will not know this is here. It is a great addition to the area for sure, but I feel like it might be a little underutilized.
It was probably one of the most well organized, clean locations I have been to. It really surprised me because I expected there to be a little chaos. With that, I was able to find the item we were asked to pick up rather quickly.
Checking out was kind of a breeze. Unlike Beckie, the other reviewer for this location at this point, I did not mind having to be forced to use a regular checkout. Not sure where she has been, but a lot of locations have reverted back to using a manned register because of the amount of loss locations were suffering. And I have no idea who this 'Sherry' is she was talking about, but it was nearly a year after their visit that I stopped in.
If you are travelling through and need a quick item, and you do not want to make your way through to a big box store miles up the road, this is your spot. With the way Breezewood is going, this might be the only thing left standing if Pennsylvania goes through with a new interchange for the Interstate highways that meet here. Breezewood may end up reverting back to the roadside stop oasis it once was, or it may be forgotten. Time will tell. read more
