The thrift divas have reunited for the biggest letdown yet. We battled Boulevard traffic, hoping…read morefor some sort of great reward for our struggles, only to be met with an absolute scatterbrained mess. They've torn the daily prices off the big signs, but it's supposedly 3 dollars on Tuesdays. There's a terms and conditions posted on the front door. No opening things without a team member (if you can find one), no refunds. We maneuvered around a pile of mismatched carts through the cleaner half of the store stocked with higher price kitchen gear and beauty products to the back room bumping radio tunes. There were tables littered with taped up online returns, most from marketplace type vendors based off the labels we tried to decipher off the side. (The internet helps typing in some of these titles to help the guessing game.) I noticed some packages still had the names of the original buyers on them as well. We shuffled through it all, finding mostly junk. I may have been a bit more picky than the others, only getting a dish rack that comes with no assembly instructions. I think it caught the cashier off guard, as I set it on the counter and waited two minutes before he realized I was buying it and that he needed to set his phone down. I paid my 3 cash with a 20 and he struggled to make change for another solid minute, mumbling at us. My mates were able to pay by card, albeit with a convenience fee. When I had excused myself to the bathroom, I found that there was no soap and no towels available. Ended up shaking my hands to dry them off. I'm shaking my head too, that no, we will not be coming back. Maybe it would be different on a restock day at the higher price, but with Goodwill and Savers right up the road, this traffic battle ain't worth it.

When someone can't contact me they say oh you must have been at Gabe's lol. I usually won't answer my phone when I'm shopping. Bought a pair of sandals a pair of pants a pack of underwear and four shirts for $40 just last week. Thank you gabes for having affordable prices. Even plus sized people can find nice things here. I've been losing weight and have been switching sizes quite frequently the low prices at the store has abled me to do this. Thank you Gabe's.

You expect great prices, a huge selection, and sometimes a bit of a mess. As long as you keep your expectations in check, you will not be disappointed. One of the things you may not realize is that they have a wheelchair to use in the store if you've got someone with you in need. My 87-year-old mom gets along with a walker most of the time, but this store is pretty big and it's easy to get worn out at that age, so we sometimes use their walker when we are there. if you're looking for great brands at amazing prices, you've got to check out Gabe's. Even my picky husband was impressed by their really large selection of high-vis jackets and shirts. There's a really great plus-sized section, a huge selection of outerwear, and a lot of really great clothes for kids, men, and ladies. I'm pretty sure the teens/juniors have their own section too. Some of the brands I've seen if you're looking - NFL (Go Bills!), Guess, Buffalo Outdoors, Ariat, Yellowstone. There are tons of great shoes, too, if you're looking for brand names at cheaper prices. One tip when shopping here - go when you've got the time to really look. Give yourself a solid 90 minutes if you want to find some fantastic bargains. Then when you're done, walk next door to Ollie's to complete your bargain shopping outing.

Chuck was hired to do our estate sale for a loved one's belongings…read more I would not recommend Chuck for this type of work. Here are some bullet point reasons: - Chuck changed the percentage and added a fee (that ended up being for advertising )to the contract, upon signing, four days before the actual sale. By the way he typically includes advertising as part of the fee he requests. We were blindsided. He would have been turned away if it were solely up to me, but unfortunately, I had others involved in the decision to use him. - Rather than giving us a guideline for when things needed to be done, for example, signing a contract and time to set up advertising - He claimed it was not too late to get advertising in: Info for advertising in PennySaver should have been done the week before the sale so that the ad would run that weekend before. It was not done. He claimed he could get it in on Wed before the sale. This would have been too late as the sale would already be in full swing. The bottom line, he did not advertise with the money we agreed to give him (against our better judgment) in the two places critical for estate sales- PennySaver ( which would have been late for the sale anyway) and Estatesale.net. He did not purchase any advertising. He used a couple of social media posts and texted people he knew instead. He was poorly equipped- -not enough table ,and the ones he had were very dirty, -signage was simply white computer printer paper. -he did not put enough signs up around town. We actually gave him some materials that he did not use, so we put more signs up ourselves with this material and our own social media postings. While we are so grateful that in the absence of Chuck's lack of preparedness, professionalism, and business ethics, our sale was not a flop, the poor way in which things were run and the fact that he did not do as he agreed to is not something anyone wants to deal with. Lastly, before he agreed to the contract that he changed and we had to negotiate, he wanted to see what was put aside and would not be included in the sale. This is horribly poor taste. He is hired to do a job, and he sells what the client says is up for sale, not what isn't. This is wrong on so many levels but, in my opinion, is taking advantage of those grieving a loss and trying to work through a finality. Yuck! Please think twice before using him for your estate sale.
