I…read moreenjoy shopping at this particular store because the location is very convenient for me, and the cashier's are very friendly, especially Becca! Not only that but it is a really nice store-well maintained and stocked well majority of the time. Their off-brand, Food Club, is also very good: I have purchased numerous Food Club items and have been satisfied with the quality of the items. Plus, they have sushi and that makes me super happy! The sushi is delicious.

They would look at me strangely and say " really, you want to go to Hy-Vee for breakfast" I would Rave about how good their food actually is for being a grocery store Cafe. I can safely say that not one of my friends ever left disappointed. Great food, great service, friendly atmosphere. Things aren't what they used to be. Even before the rise of prices of eggs for some unknown reason they decided to switch to the eggs you get from a carton. Very fake tasting and never really cooked that good. They went from using real mushrooms in their omelets to the cheap stuff you get in the can. They used to have very delicious sliced potatoes that would taste like heaven, but now you can only get hash browns that are very Bland. In closing, pretty sad when a cafe in a grocery store can't make your omelet with real eggs. Things aren't what they used to be. Still very friendly service. Although I don't know her name, there's a gray-haired old gal that is always smiling, always joking, and makes you feel right at home. Thank YOU for making me feel welcome. The boss at the time (mike) was an unfair and disloyal boss. Mike was laying to my coworker about how much she was getting paied hourly. Mike also gave people who had tattoos/piercings or wasn't white, not the same respect as the other employees. When everyone quit, but me and one person, I asked for a raise and all they wanted to give me was 25 cents more. If you plan on working here, realize you wont be getting paied well, or raises at all, they will give you more work and responsibilities, but refuse to pay you for what your worth. The food handling could be way better as well, the way they handle their chicken is honestly disgusting. One time there was a spider in the batch of chicken and I asked what to do about it, and the deli manager told me to fry it up anyways. The deli manager also seemed to really bully her employees, making the coworkers cry form time to time,and no one would do anything about it. Dont ever show up late without calling too, otherwise they will call welfare on you. The atmosphere of that place always kept me on edge and the bullying made me not wanna go into work, because the deli manger. She will make you feel horrible for the small things you mess up on and talk behind your back about it with all the other employees. Her fake nice seems so real tho. The only decent people I honestly saw and had conversations with at spicers teals makert , was with the meat department. Those guys were the best.

He only talked to me a few times but knows that I am a meat eater, and tells me about the specials that he has on the meats. His customer service skills are on whole new level that I have never experienced before. I also asked for a few items to carry and told him that my family is gluten free due to celiac disease and he is actively trying to carry more gluten free items. He has even said that he can special order stuff for me if I ask him to. Buying the meat that they package there is also the best option as you know that it is fresh and weighed correctly.

Throughout the store, the organization and display of product is neat and tidy. When you get back to the meat section, you will find a great selection of quality meats. Like any small town grocer, the prices aren't always going to be where you'd like them, but supporting the small business helps keep costs down. There's no reason to not shop at this place if you live in the area. It is very apparent that Glenn and his family take good care of the place.
