I'm as relaxed as a Sunday morning. Church lifted our spirits and we were thrilled to celebrate our daughter and son-in-law returning from their honeymoon! We decided that some comforting chicken wild rice soup and pie would be just the treat for the occasion, so off we went to Carlson's Orchard and Bakery.
When we arrived, the place was buzzing with energy. Thankfully, my daughter managed to secure us a table; otherwise, we could've faced a long wait. The lively atmosphere was enhanced by live music, which is a regular feature during the Sunday lunch crowd. We got settled quickly and placed our orders without delay! Our friendly server, Mackenzie, greeted us with a smile, made some excellent suggestions, and soon we were enjoying refreshing cold apple cider and lemonade. The freshly squeezed apple cider was a delightful treat.
With a group of eight, half of us chose the club sandwich stacked with ham, turkey, and bacon on their homemade focaccia. These sandwiches are genuinely remarkable! The bread is so fresh that it makes you want to savor every single bite.
Our food arrived within 20 minutes, and you could hear a pin drop as everyone eagerly dove into their sandwiches. Once we finished our meal, we couldn't resist ordering some pie and snagging a couple of caramel apples for the road.
While the apple pie is the star dessert here, we were all feeling a bit pie-ed out after the wedding celebrations. The kids had a blast with plenty of activities, including a hay wagon ride and climbing the hay mountain. It's a bit disappointing that this place is only open for about three months, but the experience is undoubtedly worth the wait! read more
