I cut off a small piece and my electric taste buds were set afire. I've been called finicky, persnickety, and down right difficult by my spouse, but this cake was spectacular. It not only reminded my of my "Gramma's Dark Cake" but the frosting was light and smooth. I headed back over for a second, albeit larger piece, and it didn't disappoint. Victoria has a great bakery in Best Wishes. I not only recommend it if you live or work nearby, but I recommend seeking it out as a destination.

Debuting in 2026 is Cinnamon Toast Crunch Peanut Butter (CTCPB). I'll address the elephant in the room, as serious cereal aficionados will point out that this is not the same as the relatively short lived "Peanut Butter Toast Crunch" that could be found on shelves from approximately 2004-6 and 2012-13. General Mills describes their cereal as "Every crispy square is blasted with CINNADUST, that irresistible mix of real cinnamon and sugar - plus a tasty swirl of peanut butter flavor." CTCPB's pieces are the same size and shape as the original CTC, but they have a darker, more earthy/peanut butter brown coloring. These days, I prefer eating cereal dry as a snack as opposed to a bowl with milk. Each square was nice and crisp with a predominantly peanut butter flavor with just a hint of cinnamon. While they are sweet, it seems milder than other peanut butter cereals I've encountered. I did try a small bowl with milk and interestingly, cinnamon became the dominant flavor. So much so that I could barely detect peanut butter, it was like the milk washed it off. I'm glad I tried this version as I had heard mixed reviews. There are a lot of other CTC variations I prefer, but I would consider picking this one up again. It might not be the greatest peanut butter cereal ever, but it should please most of you in the peanut gallery. Granola can be hard to find that doesn't contain almond or another nut, but I've eaten this one safely for years. It does have a may contain, but thankfully no reactions to date. And yes, I store in my fridge as sometimes you can get bugs in your pantry for dry items that I try to avoid with rice and pasta. They don't volunteer that they have kid size, which is smaller than one scoop, even when you walk in with a two year old. I really wish they had, or given me more time to look at the menu to see for myself. One scoop is WAY too much for a kid and plenty for an adult. Maybe it's up-selling, maybe they just pounced because we were the only ones there. The ice cream is good, but oddly all of the canisters are covered so you don't get to see the ice cream, you just choose by reading the descriptions. Thirdly they have no where to sit. A tiny bench that barely fits two people by the ice cream and another bench outside. So if you have three people together, you'll have to split up to stay and enjoy it. Also if the third person tries to lean on the wrought fence outside the shop, they are going to fall. That fence is no longer anchored and will be a hazard someday very soon.

It used to be a drug store, making it a cherished memory for locals. People who work there are so nice and welcoming. There are many ice cream flavors to choose from, and the portions are huge!
