ordered the lamb papperdelle which tasted a lot better than it looks in my terrible photo ! the lamb ragu was so good (spiced well, good pieces of lamb, and good quantity of lamb too), but the noodles didn't taste super fresh? like some of them were stuck together. got tiramisu for dessert (not pictured) which was very incredible and is a must order. waiter was super nice and amazing, 10/10 service

the service and ambiance of the place was really good. the food was a mixed bag for me because the chicken parm is one of the worst ones i've had in the city, the chicken was soggy and unseasoned, the spaghetti was overcooked and tough. but on the other hand, the fettuccine dish was super tasty and well made and pasta was cooked perfectly. they had an amazing tiramisu as well!! the consistency was disappointing as it is a bit on the pricier side as well so i expected better

Staff were friendly and restaurant itself was aesthetically pleasing, however, food was average. Arancini was awful. The pizza is worth a try! Drinks were way overpriced and not worth the price. Definitely better Italian restaurants out there.

Thursday's are $1 a shuck! Definitely come here if you're wanting something with a classy atmosphere and delicious food. Jade helped us at the bar and he is super friendly and accommodating! Even remembered our names when we came back a second time! The linguine di mare is also super delicious and they are generous with the amounts of seafood they put on the plate. Just note that it IS spicy & comes with quite a bit of red chilies. My lips were burning a little but in a good way!

In all honestly, the food here deserves a solid 3/5. Taste and quality-wise, it's decent Italian food and I assume there mustn't be very many other options for Italian restaurants in London. However, due to the slightly higher price point and my overall personal experience here, I can only give it 2 stars. From a friend's recommendation, I actually came here for my birthday dinner. My boyfriend made a reservation for 7 and we were so excited when we arrived because we overheard other patrons commenting that "the wait for a table would take an hour". To start the meal, I ordered a peach bellini. Honestly, it was terrible. There was too much separation of slush from liquid and the flavour of the beverage was watered down. I didn't really taste the alcohol, but also I didn't really taste the sweetness. For my main course, I ordered an off-menu seasonal special which was a butternut squash agnolotti and my boyfriend ordered the chicken parmesan. Both were alright, with the chicken parm being more underwhelming. The breading of the chicken didn't work well - it was too mushy and falling apart - and the chicken meat itself wasn't that tender. The agnolotti on the other hand had nice flavours, but I thought it was a little too dry and was pretty expensive for what, like 6 pieces of pasta? The major downfall of this experience was the excruciatingly slow service time. From ordering to actually receiving my food, it took a good 45 minutes. I was starving and getting impatient, especially since it was my birthday - it felt like a huge waste of my time. I did end up getting a complimentary tiramisu with a sparkler for dessert but it wasn't enough to make up for the time lost. I was also SUPER annoyed by the fact that because of the restaurant's open patio concept, during my entire hour and a half experience sitting there waiting for food, there were 3-4 flies that would incessantly bother us. Overall, I'd unlikely come back in the future.

Have eaten here about 5 times now... food always 5 star! Service mmmm not so 5 star... barely a 3... and not just today... all times with exception of 1. Staff are snotty and unfriendly. Sat at entrance to kitchen (despite having reservations). Only small portion of meal consumed, waitress did not ask if meal was ok... drinks/water not refilled. Probably will not go again too many other places in surrounding area with good food AND excellent service! Lastly seats in restaurant are not padded... if you are thin be prepared to have sore bottom upon departure!

Love their patio! With the amount of huge flowers it feels like an oasis from the parking lot that it overlooks. Food was very fresh and delicious. Menu however is limited. Plus we ordered an alcoholic drink which is overpriced and tasted as if it had no alchohol. Would go back for sure but will avoid their pricey drinks.

    Veal Parmesan. Excellent dish.

Awesome patio, great wine, close to home. Never had a bad meal! The only suggestion I could make it is to add more variety to the set menu.

Delicious food, amazing service…read more Spent the weekend in London, Ontario and was hunting down a place for a last minute birthday celebration. I'm not familiar with the area, so I turned to Yelp for restaurant recommendations. Pleased to say, I can always trust my fellow Yelpies and their reviews. Found this place as one of the top ranked in London. It was a little last minute, but I managed to secure a reservation for two on a Friday afternoon for the following evening. When we arrived, we were politely greeted by the owner who was incredibly friendly. It's a small restaurant, but lively at the same time. I would say, definitely dress for the occasion. We looked through the menu and decided on Ricotta Gnudi with pancetta and brussel sprouts in a butter sauce for appetizer. Deeeelicious. For mains, we ordered the casarecce with beef tenderloin tips, in a creamy cambozola and chive sauce and potato gnocchi with pork ragu. You know how usually in fancy restaurants, portion sizes are so tiny that you have to hit up McD afterwards? This was not the case. What a pleasant surprise! The portion sizes were big enough that we managed to be full from dinner AND have enough to pack two boxes full! For dessert we ordered this peachy dessert. Unfortunately I don't have the name (tried searching it and realized their menus change quite often!). It was good, but I would have to say the appetizer and entrees were my favourite. Highly recommend this place and would come again!

We decided on the following dishes: I) Seasonal grilled crostini II) Grilled octopus III) Whole wheat angel hair with jumbo prawns & scallops The crostini was by far my favourite. The mixture of duck, coriander, and toppings made for a delectable appetizer. However, the octopus was not what I expected. I think I had in my head a more tender texture typically found with squid tentacles. The octopus was oddly soft/chewy, and threw my tongue into a bit of a limbo. The pasta was delicious - a reliable seafood dish that was a surprisingly decent portion even when shared. The service stood out to me because we only ordered one entree, and the waitress recognized that we would likely be sharing, and brought it out to us already split up on two separate plates. I had never experienced such forethought, and truly appreciated the gesture. Though prices are a bit higher than other Italian joints in London, I do think Abruzzi is worth a visit.

I tried the Garlic's burger, which was okay, but nothing special, though still decent. The gnocchi was soft and pillowy, but the flavor wasn't really to my liking--it's heavily mushroom-based, so mushroom lovers might enjoy it more. I wished it had more of a nutty flavor. The pizza, however, was the star of the show. It was genuinely excellent, topped with pesto, arugula, and ham. It was so good that I still miss it! Overall, it was a good place to visit, especially after hearing some positive feedback from others. I think the dinner menu and service might offer a better experience.

You *smell* it on the way in and it's positively fabulous how potent the garlic is. Service staff were stellar too, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys if you're nearby! Very kind service staff from start to finish. Didn't matter who's table it was, we were treated very well and had swift actions despite their busy peak hours. Interior is lovingly local with loads of signed art posters of shows while keeping furniture of decor looking pretty modern. Bread 5/5 Usually I highly prefer warm bread, but the bread was a nice spongey foccacia with a lovely chew paired with a fresh spicy olive oil dip. Good enough for some seconds! Garlic bisque - 5/5 Fresh black pepper grind for this boy as well! Super creamy, super delcious, fully delivers on all the garlicky glory. It was their only soup but I'd have another one to be frank. Didn't get a good picture of this sadly, but nice swirl presentation with the oil drizzle. Garlic frites - 5/5 This was probably the only dish I didn't think was garlic'ked to the high heavens, but it did have a nice light fry to them with a good and balanced seasoning to them. I'm not familiar with this cheese they use a lot of, but it does have a nice complexity to it without too much grease. The dip though, it was just beautiful with how smokey and much umami it had with a light citric bite at the end. Garlic's Burger - 4/5 The only critique I had with this was with the bun, which was unfortunately rather dry / thick compared to the burger itself. Otherwise it works pretty well in terms of composition as the buttery goodness of the roll blends with the rather tender patty (despite their 3oz. sizing they were remarkably tender even without much pink at all). The side we got was their caeser (option for fries or soup alternative). Very creamy (and garlicky, as promised by the name). Hot and smokey fettucine - 5/5 It was nothing like I imagined it when I ordered it, but remarkably creative as it was rather far from typical italian that I've had. Technique wise it was top notch, which edged it closer to a thai or chinese dry noodle stir fry without any obvious sauce base (afaik just oil and spicy pepper). Very solid amount of heat as a good medium for the spicy-minded, which is surprising given that it's the only item on the menu marked spicy. Flavor-wise the chicken came out closer to what I'd imagine sausage to be at with how smokey it tasted, but with a nice aroma to it from browning the noodles and garlic.
