This salon isn't fancy like the Carlyle, where my hairdresser worked before coming here. It doesn't have the fancy furniture and paint job or the spa water at check-in. But what it does have is plenty of parking (usually), good value for the price, no tourists, and is 5 minutes from my Mesa house. Besides, there's a Blenders downstairs, so it's easy to grab a Blue Banana and head up the stairs. My hairdresser, Shanna Spencer, listens, makes suggestions, and delivers a great cut. She does a solidly good job with my curly, thick hair and hair color. Isn't that really what you want in a hairdresser? She's also very responsive, creative, and talented, when I'm in the mood for something different. Shanna has a brisk business in wedding hairdos and hair and make-up for TV. She's no nonsense and a seasoned professional. Beware the narrow staircase to the salon. That thing is more of an ass-kicker than it first appears! read more

I have experienced upselling pressures, scheduling issues (I work), hair too dark, etc. A stylist is an essential confident in our lives - as we age or our lives change it is essential to have a reliable stylist to counter everything else we go through. So we need to find someone that works. My friend recommended Linda at Dolce Vista and I have come home. I have seen Linda twice now and am struck that despite her extensive experience she remains so reasonably priced and how well she LISTENS. She will offer suggestions, but she understood my issues and preferences so that my hair comes out great every time. Last night after my color/cut the owner turned to Linda and said "That is a great cut - her hair looks so full in the back!". For a girl who has dreamed of big hair all my life, that compliment meant a lot. The salon is clean and professional. There was a groupon here so I figured I'd take the risk and try it out. The place is really cute and clean. Overall just had a good vibe. I got my haircut with Jennifer who was friendly and did a great job. She didn't take forever but I also never felt that she was rushing. For $30 I got a wash, cut, and style. Ivette Lugo is the only reason i came to Dolce Vista Salon. I'd follow that woman anywhere because she is my #1 go to stylist. She's been doing my hair for 5 years and I'm never disappointed. She is so versatile, I've done it all with her. Trim, cuts, color, ombres. She always introduces me to the newest trends and makes me feel gorgeous! I too came in because of the groupon and had a great experience. I basically wanted the same length as I currently have, just add some bangs and clean it up. Jennifer was super accomodating, recommended some cutting tips, showed me how to curl my hair with a flat iron and did a great job on my bangs. They were also really sweet with my groupon as I wasn't sure if the person I gave it to had actually used it before it expired. They said come in anyways, even if it was used. Outstanding! I got the mani /pedi groupon offer for 47.50 with Paraffin wax. Wondeful. Dynnah works alone in a beautiful, peaceful space in the same building with Upscale Massage. No annoying music or chatter of people jammed together like sardines. And the chair is terrific. Her teen daughter was reading a book and we chatted a bit. I brought my own color--Essie--and she has MAD polishing skills. I'm going to go back for a polish change on my hands as the gels she uses are not CND. I hate Gelish and OPI is no better for gels. She does use a shellac I might try but even though it will be more for my next mani or pedi, it's well worth it. I had such a disappointing experience with Dolce. I visited the salon three times with a pretty good impression. I did wonder why they only had two or three hairdressers?? My service went ok the first two times. then suddenly, they changed the rinse to color without even asking. My hair was so dark. Charged me more than they did last time and said oh some of that will wash out. When I discussed the problem with the owner. She said she had to back the stylist because she helps pay the rent. I have never been treated so rudely after spending over 1,000 at a Salon. Please stay away as I do not want anyone else to have to go through what I went through. I was lucky enough to meet owner and hairstylist Courtney Shannon a few years ago through a Groupon offer. Her salon is clean and comfortable with a cool vibe and friendly staff. It always make me feel so special when they offer me tea, coffee, or water when I get there too. Sometimes it's the little things!! During my first visit, I got a full set of highlights and a hair cut because I wanted to be a little more blond for summer! I figured that since it was a Groupon, I was taking a chance. Well, Courtney is amazing and she did exactly what I had envisioned with my hair--from the cut to the color to the styling. She had me feeling like my favorite celebrity when I walked out of there! Needless to say, Courtney has been my hairdresser ever since. I have been looking for a sanitary mani/pedi. Very hard to find. And it's here. The foot tub is lined with new plastic for each pedi. For the manicure, emory boards only used once per customer as well as the scrub block. Plus, the chair has the best mechanical massage yet. Dynnah is lovely! All very relaxing. read more
