Being the owner of a high energy dog (not that that's a bad thing), daycare is the obvious answer. I definitely did my research before deciding upon DogTown. I love the 24 hour pick up, which comes in handy when I have a late deadline at work! And their prices are much more reasonable than some of the places that I looked at. The staff has nothing but wonderful things to say about my dog (even though I know that he can be a bit ornery sometimes!)! I also really love the "drive up drop off" that doesn't even require me to get out of the car when I drop him off!! He will be boarding there for his first overnight stay next weekend so I will update my review after that! But if its anything like daycare-I'm sure it will be more than perfect!! Three weeks ago, my boyfriend A and I brought home a wonderful puppy. We both have intense work schedules so 18wk old J is on his second week of full time doggy daycare (mon to fri) and I can't say enough good things about this place. On J's eval day, one of the staff members stood with A and I at the viewing window as long as we wanted and answered all our many questions. Meeting Meghan, I could see her passion for taking excellent care of all dogs! Every morning and evening the staff greets us enthusiastically and gushes over Our pup. We're first time Dog owners so having such loving caretakers with him when we cant be there makes it so much easier to go to work and not worry about how he's doing. We KNOW he's well taken care of, and the webcams are great for checking on him during the day. The fact that a "day" of care is up to 12hrs is awesome...if work or traffic delays us, it's not a big deal because he can just stay a bit past his usual 8-9hrs and it's no stress. One of the things I love about Dogtown is that they work with our pup according to our preferences. For example, we are crate training J...so while most dogs nap together on the mats in the nap room, we've requested that J be crated for all naps and they respect that. It's helped us so much at home! Another adjustment they made for our little guy was that since he's so young (18wks) and right now is doing 5 days/ week he gets extra naps so he doesn't get overtired. They think of everything! Owners bring in their own dog's food (theres also an option to buy food by the day), again to keep all the pups happy and healthy! J comes home every night happy and worn out! We sometimes use the valet pick up drop off and sometimes don't, but it's a nice option. If we have a need for overnight boarding at some point, we wouldn't even think of going anywhere else! read more

As others have said, please stay away from here. Would honestly rather have a stranger coming into my house via Rover or some other app than taking my dog to Dogtown. We took our dog here when we went out of town for a longer trip and she had zero anxiety or aggression toward other dogs before this (she was a shelter dog and has been around other dogs in her life). They didn't say anything, but I have a feeling our dog was attacked or the victim of another dog's aggression while here and we were not informed. They instead told us she has gate aggression and each time we took her here, they stuck her in a crate (she is terrified of the crate as a result of a family before us) instead of actually keeping an eye on the dogs they have in their care. Our dog still has tremendous problems with other dogs, and we are having a hard time getting her adjusted to being around other dogs. We can't even take our dog to a dog park anymore, where she used to do just fine playing with other dogs. Do not trust this place and if you care about your dog, do not take them here. read more

Cincinnati Anderson location is horrible-Do NOT bring your dog here! They say it's protocol to call you if your dog gets injured or bleeding however when an issue arises they will say "We called you" and that is their magical go to answer. When in fact I printed out my phone records to show them they breached protocol and did NOT call me! And they refused to accept any fault for that. And WOW we spent 100s of dollars if not 1000s there and were regular weekly clients. Rather than try to make the customer happy and whole with some form of remedy/solution they would rather loose your business! Well Dogtown of Anderson we WONT be back. Also Dogtown of Anderson it's not good practice to contact the vet and have them breach patient confidentiality to try to cover your own ass after an incident occurs. read more

I absolutely love Dogtown. My dog has been going here for over a year and they are very prompt and professional. I take my dog here for the occassional daycare visit, but mainly boarding. They have sent me text messages of pictures of him to a quick phone call update. My dog can get into some trouble at times, but they are so great at taking care of him and assisting him when needed. I love the flexible hours and the webcams. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOGTOWN! Please note- My dog is my child and I would take him here any day because I know he will be well taken care of. read more

This place is the BEST!! My dog love loves Dogtown. I should say that I am very protective of my baby. I was so nervous going back into the office because she had not tried daycare before and let me tell you....BEST decision I've ever made. I take her when I go into the office each week, and I always expect her to not want to go the next morning because she is so sleepy when she comes home!!! She always gets right up when I say "dogtown" and as soon as I drop her off whoever grabs her knows her by name and greets us both so kindly. I've even started dropping her off on weekends when I run errands because she loves it so much! It's playtime for her, she doesn't care being away from me when she's there!! My #1 favorite thing is that they are KENNEL FREE so they just run around all day. They also go outside in the huge enclosed yard A TON and even have nap time in little beds it's SO CUTE. I'm sometimes so busy I forget to check the webcams but I don't even feel worried because every time I do she is so happy and there is always a human in the room. I would 10/10 recommend this location of dogtown, and I do to everyone I can. Every single employee is amazing and you can tell they care so much. I even had a little freak out situation once thinking my pup was not there, but my boyfriend (who is an authorized person to pick her up) had gotten her and forgot to tell me and they were so sweet even when I wasn't!! We have been taking our dogs to Dogtown for more than 5 years. With that said, we just used them for boarding and I was very displeased with the care. After 9 days of boarding, my dog came home painfully thin. She's a 12.5 lb dachshund and lost 2+ pounds while she was there (weighed 9.8 pounds when we weighed her the day we got back). You can literally see her ribs and spine. She has also been vomiting all of her food. The facility was pretty flippant about my concerns, and said she ate all of her food and did not experience vomiting while there. They also said they ran out of the food we brought and had to give her "house food". I know for a fact my husband counted out 14 days worth of food (and we were only gone 9), so I'm not sure what the issue was. Regardless, I would have expected them to call if they ran out of food and to have taken my concerns about her weight seriously. In addition to this incident, they said my other dog ran out of his anxiety medication two days prior to us picking him up (again we counted the number of pills prior to dropping him off, so they must have doubled up doses on a couple days). Again, no call and they did not seem concerned about it when we discussed it at pick up. Ultimately, I would never trust Dogtown with boarding again. read more

Moved to Cincinnati for work and was there for 13 months. Having no family in the area, I was in the market for boarding and daycare. My dog loved it here. I loved it, too, since I could watch him 24/7 on the cameras and they don't use kennels. My dog would start whining in excitement about 5 minutes away and drag me through the front door. They knew us by name and I appreciated the flexibility to pick up and drop off 24 hours a day since travel doesn't stick to a 9-5 schedule. The prices are reasonable, even more so if buy packages up front. I used the bath and grooming services and these were sufficient and easy to schedule. The daycare requires a trial period and current vaccination records, further peace of mind. read more

This place is an absolute shithole. If you care about your pet even an ounce you would never step foot in this place. We took our three month old collie puppy to Dogtown for a half-day evaluation with the intention of leaving him there 5 days/week. Once we realized how many dogs ONE handler was responsible for at any given time (~50) my boyfriend and I agreed that this place was a ticking time bomb. Who cares if they can see your dog on a screen from the front desk? When you throw in a puppy with a known aggressive breed such as a pit bull, somethings bound to happen, which is why this place has made news headlines multiple times. The staff member I spoke to didn't seem to have any type of clue on how to handle dogs and couldn't provide me with any of her credentials. All of that aside, we still allowed them to keep our puppy for a half day just to see how he did. Once we left Dogtown and arrived back home, my puppy drank water for an entire five minutes straight without stopping. Any dog daycare that doesn't provide water for the clients who are PLAYING almost ALL DAY isn't getting my business. Try Allies Walkabout across the river instead; at least they're humane. Formerly over the moon for this place. My two dogs and I moved to PA six months ago. When I said goodbye, they told me they would send me a check for my unused prepaid boarding and daycare packages. A few months later, I called and spoke with one of my favorite employees who was so sorry, and promised that the check would go out within a couple of days. Fast forward another few months and I am told: 1. That employee is gone, 2. Prepaid fees are not reimbursable (which is directly contrary to what I was told when I purchased the last package, knowing I was interviewing out of state) and 3. Someone would call me back. My husband and I took our two Am Staff's to Dogtown for a year back in 2013 when we began noticing a drastic decline in management of the facility and dogs. This decline seemed to coincide with the owner not being there for the day to day operations. Leading up the event that caused us to pull our dogs for good, there were very unprofessional and alarming incidents that, as a pet owner, did not sit well with me. On one occasion, while coming in before rush hour to pick up my dogs, I could hear one of the shift managers (?) aggressively and unprofessionally addressing one of the "handlers" (a college age looking young man with a clear attitude problem) ...telling him it was not okay to yell and scream at the dogs. Here I am, an owner picking up my dogs (they saw me come in), and they're unapologetically squabbling about treating the dogs with proper care, leadership and respect. After that, I began feeling on edge dropping them off. Against my better judgment we brought our dogs back for two more visits until our female was attacked in which she had a deep gash that required stitches. When I came to pick her up to take her to the vet, not one of the staff could tell me what exactly transpired to cause such damage, nor did they seem concerned about not knowing. The only thing they seemed interested in was explaining it away as an unusual scuffle. However, after telling a friend of mine who recommended the place to us about this incident, she admitted to us she had to pull her dogs too because they were attacked multiple times, requiring vet visits. As a long-time dog owner and former volunteer for a pit bull rescue, I understand that things happen, but over the course of the year, our once sweet, well-adjusted dogs became hostile and aggressive while at Dogtown and regressed socially. The environment became more stressful than anything for our dogs and for us as owners. Greed or ignorance seemed to trump quality customer experience with this place which is truly sad because it had started off so strong and was once a favorite destination for our dogs. read more

Biggie (11 months) has been to several half days of "doggie daycare" and he absolutely loves it. By the 3rd time, he didn't even look back at me... just went right in with the handler like an old pro. Scheduling is a cinch and I can take him in at the last minute. I've also had them clip his nails a few times (I so appreciate not having to do it!). Biggie always comes home a happy and tired puppy, which, for me, is well worth the $15 price tag. read more

This place is God awful. The place is never clean, and at least 2 dog attacks per week with many other unreported incidents that never reach the owners. Dog come in fine and leave afraid due to the abusive staff. On multiple occasions staff have openly admitted to hitting or other negative discipline tactics. The owner and general manager smile to you face while sweeping the very incidents you want to know about under the rug as if it had never occurred. Please be aware of the dangers your dog may face while attending this facility. Many sicknesses and illnesses go unreported as it would decrease the customer base per day. Took my older dog there for their initial 4 hour evaluation. Trixie is very social and did well. But when she got into the car she was so thirsty she drank a whole bowl of water. I investigated the place because I am looking for a place to board her when I travel. NO WAY would I take her back there. Shortly after writing my review I received a call from Dogtown asking why my pup hadn't been in a while. I mentioned his illness and they offered me 3 free days of daycare as an incentive to come back. It worked! We are back and are weekly Dogtown customers. As it turned out, the illness was more so caused by food allergies. I cant deny my pups adoration for this place. He loves all his furry friends and I cant deny my appreciation for the employees who work here. They know me and Garth (my labradoodle) by name and greet him with a smile every time we go. Garth still comes home with scratches every now and then, but hes a puppy and like to play rough. Our most recent visit Garth came home freshly bathed after playing in the mud! Wow... So with our time at Dog town in Cincinnati in one word to describe it is eventful. At first we loved the place until a few actions that happened. Our dog Zeke was getting groomed by one of the groomers there and was cut on his ear. A chunk of his ear was cut off and the rest had to be removed on top of that from Med Vet. I called asking for a check of what I came out of pocket for their wrong doings towards my dog. At first they gave me an extremely hard time and said "well we gave you the haircut for free since we cut him"(intending they weren't going to pay the vet bill) ,and wouldn't until I threatened legal action. The next incident was our 120 pound Golden Doodle was put in the smaller dog pin when he was getting constantly humped by a dog that was in the bigger dog general population area. This dog was constantly throwing himself on top of my dog and many others as well. Even though my dog was sitting in the corner not trying to be humped by this dog the dog continued to hump in and we have a video of it happening not getting stopped by the workers there. Though my dog was the one getting pinned down and humped he was separated from the group? Why punish the dog that wasn't doing anything wrong? When I asked why he was being separated the worker said "so would you rather haven't that dog hump small dogs?". No quite frankly I wouldn't want him pinning any other dogs there. I will say Juliana is a hard worker there as a GM but overall this place I would try to avoid. On top of these things we have to wash his paws every time he comes home because there would be urine left on the ground for the dogs to play in without being cleaned up. Thanks but no thanks. If you have a dog larger than 20 pounds - this is a great place for you. I've been taking my larger dog here for a long time and have never had a problem. They take your dogs outside regularly, and they take them for a nap regularly, and they are always supervised by a handler. However, if you have a puppy or a small breed, don't waste your money. They round up all the small dogs and put them in fenced enclosure away from all the other dogs with no handler, they rarely take them outside, and rarely take them for a nap. Someone might come in every couple of hours to sweep up feces. The dogs get anxious and they pace the fence barking to be let out. If you say something, they will claim it's "for the protection of your small dog". It's also free to leave your dog at home and receive the same level of attention. I was also banned from this place for expressing my concerns about my small breed on a private Facebook page, like other customers. This is a company that chooses to retaliate instead of providing customer service - if that gives you any indication of what management is like. Small dog owners beware. Our dogs drag us to our car each morning, because they want to go to Dogtown! They have a blast and I love to watch them on the webcams. They are always busy and moving. The staff members love on them all day. As a crazy dog mom, I appreciate having people that I trust my dogs to stay with overnight and for daycare. My dogs 90 lbs and 165 lbs, so they are usually with a group of bigger dogs that they can play with. read more

I've been taking my dog here for about a year. I didn't connect the dots until recently-- Each and every time she goes here she gets very sick. This particular time she somehow got worms- she previously contracted bordetella- as well and HPV- and sometimes she comes home with diarrhea and/or dehydration. She's also very skinny when she comes back-- it's like she just doesn't get taken care of while she's there and I'm concerned that they are forgetting to give the dogs food/water (or worse-- never cleaning and exposing them to all sorts of bacteria). A lot of kids work here- which is fine but they really need to improve their cleanliness. read more

I love this place for my dog!! The staff knows all the dogs and some cats, pretty much knows all the people too!! Very kind, play with the dogs are attentive and even will give medicine/special attention to your pet. All the dogs have their shots and are up to date. If a dog is sick, they will call the owner or separate the pet until the owner can come. If kennel cough goes around (you can't help that) they advise everyone for their pets safety. 24/7 365 what more can you ask. I love having my dog come home tired!!! The concept behind the facility is great. Their location and hours are great. However, they have a very high dog to handler ratio and most of their handlers have minimal knowledge about dogs and dog behavior. The combination of too many dogs and inexperienced handlers is a serious accident waiting to happen. I would think twice before taking your dog there. read more

I took my dog here once and it was just way too crowded, I'm not sure if it's even legal to have as many dogs in a room as they do. Also I just saw a story on WLWT News 5 tonight about Dogtown; an owner had her 9 month old puppy brutally attacked (you should see the pics) on her first day and the day care didn't do anything about it. The puppy had to undergo an extensive emergency surgery for bite marks that cut all the way through the skin tissue and into the muscle and after 4 days so far she is STILL in the hospital recovering! Poor puppy, so sad. read more

We were really excited to find Dogtown beacuse we work 2nd shift and not many facilities will work with people with our hours. Our dog has been going there for about 2 months and we watch the webcams while we are at work to make sure they are doing well. We have noticed on a few occassions that our dog has been separated from the other dogs and left alone for hourS at a time with no supervision or companionship. We were told that he had "too much energy." We can leave our dog alone at home ALONE for free. They also say they take the dogs out every hour and we have noticed on more than one occasion on the webcam that our dog has used the restroom on the floor and our dog is very well potty-trained and would not do that unless he had not been taken out. Even at home if we are in the other room, our dog will bark or howl if he needs to go out and it's been a while. I sat there and watched him barking/howling/ scratching at the door for 30 minutes before he went on the floor. Unacceptable. Your job is to play with dogs and take care of them, it's not that difficult. read more

Where should I start. My dog has been to establishment twice, he has came home sick twice! The first time was in January, when we went out of town for our wedding. The weather here was terrible, long story short he developed pneumonia. I didn't think much of it because it was so cold. I did bring a jacket for them to put on him, but I really doubt that ever happened. When we came to pick him up, he had lost a significant amount of weight and seemed lethargic. I immediately took him to the vet and had to put him on antibiotics for the next month. I was upset, but bit my tongue on calling them out. His second visit was approximately two weeks ago. I arrived in the am, the attendant came out to my car and took my dog and his food/treats without asking who I was and when I planned to be back. She didn't have very good customer service skills in fact I followed behind her and she just assumed that I was already on my way. I asked her to show me the water bowls and let her know that I was concerned about my dog losing weight the last time he was there. She said, "Well there is water in the rooms that they have access to throughout the day...", "sometimes the dogs here get anxious and don't eat as much". Are you kidding me?!?!?!? If they are not eating, then the owner needs to be contacted and an alternate plan needs to be agreed upon, they can't be left to starve! I feel like if I would've left him there any longer he may have had some serious issues related to malnutrition. Luckily this time I was only gone for two days, but once again my dog is ill. I had to take him back to the vet and he is on antibiotics again. I'm very pi**ed about everything, I have spent over $500 relating to these illnesses. Bottom line, Dogtown provides unsatisfactory level of customer service, provides nothing engaging for the dogs to do (they roam aimlessly around a room with a couple of ramps, and they are obviously not very sanitary.
