This boarding and daycare for cats and dogs is a little pricier than other places in the area, but…read moreit's worth it to make the pup feel comfortable while we're out of town. On two occasions I had to call to make a last minute reservation because other places were booked, and catnips n biscuits saved the day. Staff is super attentive, honest, and caring with my pup. I noticed at some other places, my dog gets nervous to go in when he's being boarded, but when he goes here he's actually excited. They don't put collars on the pups while they're being boarded. Personally, I like this because my pup doesn't have one at home. I can see how it might make other people nervous, but this works for us. After one of our last visits, he didn't get to receive a bath that we paid for, but staff reached out to us and told us this. They gave us a credit for our next stay. Really great boarding option in the Savannah area!

It's definitely a dog place. The cats are kept in a windowless room with no visual stimulation…read more There are TVs in the room but the two times I was in the room, they weren't on. The cages are small and with SOLID fronts - no ventilation except for a few small holes. I heard a fan but I don't know if it was circulating in the cages. If there were a power outage, the kitties would have no way of getting air. Very restrictive hours for dropping off and picking up. My cat is a diabetic and has to have insulin twice a day. When they gave me back his unused medication, there was a dose that was not given.

First, let me start with how much, Scout, my 6 year old black lab has enjoyed her daycare and boarding time with VTAL over the past 6 months or so. It is her happy place! Fast forward to last Friday morning as we had boarded her for our July 4 stay on Tybee. 7:00 am on the 5th I received a call from Raquel at VTAL very calmy but with a sense of urgency describing that the morning team noticed Scout was not acting like herself, and they weren't sure what was going on but felt they needed to take her to the emergency vet on Stephenson asap. To make this very long story a bit shorter, they got her to the vet within minutes. When I arrived Raquel waited with me until the vet gave us an update, and I'm sure she would have waited forever with me if that is what I needed. While waiting, Raquel shared with me that Scout was totally unresponsive when they arrived at the clinic. The kennel is only 3 minutes away from the hospital. Scout has been diagnosed with Addison's Disease, and she was having an Addisonian Crisis when they found her that morning. This is something that is often misdiagnosed or acted on too late. Dr. Lamar and the entire team at the incredible Savannah Emergency Vet have repeatedly credited VTAL with saving her life. I'll have another awesome review for vet team. The quick thinking of VTAL and their knowledge of Scout saved the day. I wish I had the name of the team member that found her that morning, but she is an angel along with Raquel. Now for the good news! Scout is being discharged today and is going to live a perfectly normal and healthy life by simply taking a daily steroid pill. She will be back to playing with her VTAL family just as soon as she's 100%. Again, sorry for such a long review but had to do it! THANK YOU VTAL!

I have been using their services for a little over three years now. Every day or at least 3 times a week I get an email blast from them advertising care and medicines for sale. That practice alone gives me the creepy crawlies. But also when I take my dogs in for tech work, such as a monthly shot, Im hounded by extra costs and unnecessary exams and tests. If they had their way, what should be a 90$ visit explodes into a $300 visit. One year ago, the monthly Librella injection cost $70 with tech, today it is $101. One year ago, the proheart 6 injections were the "less expensive choice vs heart guard and the reason to do it. This is how they advertised it to me. They have marked up the cost by more than $50. I guess they figured I wouldn't check now that it is a renewing prescription. Today, I wanted heartworm shots for my dogs and they insisted that an annual exam was "required by law" in order to qualify for the heartworm medicine. Vet clinic policy is not law. I went to PetFix down the road, and they only required the heartworm test and proof of rabies vaccination. It feels SOOO CORPORATE!!! I want my vet and their techs to be more grounded and not so fundamentally driven by milking every penny they can from me. I completely understand that they have to make a profit to survive, but this is ridiculous. It's like taking your car to the dealership to get serviced; same repair, higher cost. If paying through your nose is your thing, then Case is for you. For the "annual exam" required to just get heartworm meds for two young dogs under 3 tears old ends up to be $330 PER PET!!! and that doesn't include the cost of the heartworm injection! For my elderly dog, he's 17, $381 before even paying the 170 something they want for the heartworm! settle down people, settle down. Also, they're on a really busy street with no fence, so if your pet jumps out of your car, you get the extra fun bonus of experiencing a heart attack.

The lady on the phone was super nice and scheduled around the perfect time for me. Once I got into the room the doctor and nurses were great.
