It has been a moment since Allie has been to this location because she and I have been getting better acquainted, as I adopted her in March 2024. Sadly, Allie had the zoomies, I was in the way of her playing, and I wound up breaking my leg. With this being the rainy season, and her having a lot of energy, I wanted her to be able to have some fun and play. So, I reached out to Dogtopia again. I explained to Iona that Allie may be a bit hesitant, as it has been a while since she last stayed there. Iona was extremely helpful! She listened to my concerns. She understood how important Allie is to me and she put my trepidation to rest. So I booked the appointment for the very next day. My best friend dropped Allie off about 30 minutes ago, today. And Iona just called me to let me know how everything is going with Allie. Allie is having a ball! Good customer service is a rare find these days. Unfortunately, many people are so busy that they don't even try to engage their customers any longer. So few establishments understand the importance of building relationships. But Dogtopia gets it! Posting my google review from a couple weeks ago here! We used to take our dog, Lilly here quite a bit for boarding a few years back and absolutely loved it! We didn't stop for any particular reason, we just had others who were available to watch her at our house. We recently had the need to get her boarded again and it was poor timing since it was right at the same time as needing her vaccines updated, plus we needed to do another meet & greet to check her behavior around other dogs. They have a policy that you can only bring them in 48 hours after any vaccines which I completely understand but I was running out of time with when our vacation lined up. They were still able to squeeze us in just in time this last Friday and they were kind enough to let her stay the rest of the day at no cost. There was also an employee who has a great memory and remembered up from a couple years back and had nothing but good things to say about my girl. As always, didn't have a single negative interaction with anyone - they're all super sweet and you can tell they genuinely love all the dogs coming in. I also love that you can check the cameras! Last note I wanted to add is that they did accidentally overcharge me for our most recent stay this past weekend due to a booking mistake and they immediately took responsibility and took action to correct it. This place is not trustworthy, they " accidentally" sent the wrong dog home with me. It felt a bit off my dog seemed skittish, and unfamiliar with me and my home. Come to find out that is because it wasn't MY DOG. The manager wasn't available when the incident occurred and it took a while till I was able to speak with him. When I finally did discuss it with him he said that they had not even told the other dog owners that they sent their dog home with me. Quite honestly, it blew my mind that even my dog could be sent home with somebody else and I would never know. If I could give zero stars I would. These are our babies, they don't understand that. Update to response: I'm just putting this out there so people are aware. My wife was very upset and didn't know how she wanted to handle this. I felt we kept it quiet for too long. She was too nice to create this post so I did it for her. Regardless of who's brought in our dog we both were emotional wrecks over this. The miss was the amount of money they charge for the " private suites " they are not a private room rather an over size crate like space . As soon as my dog realizes she is going to doggy daycare, she waits by the door & tells me I am driving too slow. I have had nothing but positive, good energy interaction with the staff and for the first time, feel comfortable with her having a good place to stay overnight if I can't take her with me. My dog was bit on her paw while in a crate. They were not going to take her to the vet until I insisted. She needed stitches in her paw and antibiotics. 10 days later I get a call saying she is not welcome back because the incident was unavoidable and she was aggressive IN A CRATE. We tried out this facility and dropped off our dog for about two hours. We constantly watched the webcam to observe what was truly going on during doggy daycare and to monitor our dog. When receiving the tour of this facility, I was told the owner was gone for a few days, and he left his dogs behind at the facility. Where were the dogs, you might ask? In the playroom/doggy area, running around most of the day, like the customers' dogs? No - they were in a quiet, dark and air-conditioned office, snoozing away peacefully, on a dog bed, while all the other dogs were running around in a claustrophobic, busy and unclean room. If this doggy daycare place is so wonderful, then why doesn't the owner board his own dogs in the same conditions as his customers' dogs? Think about that... After testing out this facility for only an hour, my previously spunky, confident, young, and healthy dog was exhausted and had an eye injury that resulted in a pricy vet visit for antibiotics and care. And she was only in there for an hour, before I pulled her out. Imagine a whole day of that chaos! I truly wanted to like this place. I read all the positive reviews, but unfortunately, did not have that experience at all. I recommend for anyone reading this to carefully decide whether or not your dog would be happy or healthy in this environment. They prefer quantity over quality and I urge anyone reading this to consider another doggy daycare option. Issue #1 - CLOSE QUARTERS/ CHAOS - There was an extremely large number of dogs running around in a small room - around 30. It looked claustrophobic and stressful and the dogs standing and walking in circles, unsure of what do with themselves or how to navigate the room. There was no peace or dog bed or place a dog could rest or truly retreat from the situation and take a break from the constant stream of dogs. Issue #2 - HYGIENE There was one attendant working in the room and she was just mopping and mopping and mopping. How clean can that room really be with the same bucket of water? Issue #3 - LACK OF PERSONAL ATTENTION/CARE I found it unacceptable that there was just one person in a room with thirty dogs. I watched on video as some dogs, including ours, were uneasy and needed human comfort and reassurance, but were ignored by the attendant working in the room. Unfortunately, the room was so understaffed, all she had time for was cleaning! I observed on the video my poor dog kept going to the exit door or following the attendant around, desperate for a little acknowledgement. It was truly heartbreaking to watch my dog and others to go through this ordeal. Issue #4 - NO REAL SOCIALIZATION/HEALTHY STIMULATION/LEARNING OF MANNERS I thought that doggy daycare would improve and nurture a dog's social skills. After reading articles and observing it first-hand at this place, it's clear that this situation is not conducive to that at all. The room is small and packed with dogs, so there is no room to play or romp around without running into another dog. Dogs are like small children or even adults. We wouldn't like being expected to play and socialize in a packed room full of strangers. read more

Update to my previous review... we can no longer take our Frenchy to Dogtopia Folsom for overnight stays since she always came home sick, but she really loves being there during the day and hasn't gotten sick once when she just goes for daily visits. Friendly staff help step by step to get into daycare. I was able to get meet and greet schedule right away and got deals 3 day care for 1 daycare fee. My puppy loved the meet and greet and the first official day! Went great! Super excited when I picked him up and he slept right away. They have web camera in app so you can watch the rooms except for nap time. Today Tico had scratch marks on his belly from two other dogs keep trying to humping him, and other dog was bigger than my dog and I was watching it for more than 2min and Staff member didn't notice. Usually there's 2 staff for one room but today I saw one staff was watching 20+ small dogs! I know it's hard to monitor every dog and I understand incidents happen but my parents was really sad when they saw the marks on the belly. Brought my dog here twice. First time was for his meet and greet. We had a great first impression/experience. Nicole did our dog's evaluation and she was very professional and answered all our questions. Our second experience was terrible! His first full day daycare was 6/30/22. Since it was his first time we watched the video footage to see how our dog was doing. We watched an employee in one of the big dog play areas corner a white poodle and knee it in the side multiple times, back kick a German Shepard in the face, throw towels at the dogs and yell at them. I called and spoke to the manager and was told that that was part of their training in order to control dogs in a hectic play area. Be careful if you decide to send your dog here and definitely watch the footage. Was hoping for a better experience. read more

We have been bringing our Gracie to Dogtopia since they opened in Fall of 2018. We hadn't had much luck finding a daycare facility that was clean and didn't smell. When we saw that this new facility was opening I called and left a message to inquire about services. Even though they hadn't opened yet we received a call back within a day to schedule a tour and fee day of daycare. When we walked in the place it was very nice looking. Mike, one of the owners, took us for a tour while the staff took Gracie back for an evaluation. He walked us through every part of their facility, nothing was off limits. We loved the pressurized rubber floors and how clean the facility was kept and smelled. We loved that they have webcams so you can check in on them during the day and see how well your pups are treated by every staff member. Each morning that is a daycare day Gracie is so excited when she hears "It's time to go bye bye" that she just can't contain her excitement. Once we get on the bridge over the river she starts whining with excitement and pacing in the backseat. When we get to daycare, Nickole the Office Manager, and Mike have worked with us when greeting her at the door to make her calm down as she comes into the lobby. She used to be so wild coming in that one day she slipped her collar and jumped up on the reception desk . With their assistance in working with her, she now comes through the door, and stops, lays down (still whining and ancy) and waits to be taken in to the room. Our pup had a sharp nail that cut the pad of the toe next to it and they took her out immediately, took a picture and called us to let us know and ask how we wanted them to treat it. I appreciated them including us beforehand instead of it happening and not telling us. I can drop our pup off each day knowing that she will be given excellent care, hugs and belly rubs, and be able to burn off the energy she needs while playing with the other pups. I called Dogtopia last week to cancel a boarding reservation I had made for my dog and the representative told me she would cancel the reservation and immediately refund my $90 deposit. I checked my account yesterday and the refund had not been made. I called back and got another representative who told me she would notify a supervisor who would "probably" initiate the refund. The representative said they were having internet issues but I was also told the same thing over a month ago when I did the meet and greet so I felt I was being put off. I checked my account this morning and still no refund so I will be notifying my bank to initiate action against Dogtopia to obtain my refund. Probably won't be using them any more. read more

I have nothing but nice things to say of this place. Their website is useful and their customer service before you even meet them is top notch: I signed the pups up for an evaluation/meet and greet, so that I would have a place to take them for socialization and boarding as needed. After making the online appointment, I was immediately contacted via email, and asked to fill out some forms, etc. I did that online as well, and gave them the vet info. Before our scheduled meeting, they'd already contacted the vets, received the immunization records, and were ready to meet the pups! I already felt special and welcome. Their location is towards the back of the Nimbus Winery buildings, and the signs are large and colorful (orange, my favorite color!). We walked in to a full wall covered with happy doggy client pictures, tastefully done in a wallpaper (rather than a bunch of photos stuck on the wall), and a really nice coffee and drinks bar for the human customers. The entry area is clean and as you get to the desk, you see a bank of TVs showing the different locations within the place, and the dogs and employees interacting. After a quick greeting, Mike (the owner) walked us through the place, while Katie, an employee, took each dog separately for an evaluation (she was looking for any injuries, to see how they interacted with her, other employees, the other dogs in the facility, whether they were crate trained, etc.) She returned quickly, saying that the dogs were great and were welcome to stay and play! We continued to walk through the facility, and I grilled Mike on the place, how he handled incidents between dogs, whether they'd had any injuries on the premises, etc. He answered my questions gracefully, no defensiveness noted, and I was impressed. They have several rooms for the dogs, based on size and temperament, and an outdoor run that is completely walled in so they are not visible to random passersby. Boarders can stay in crates in the open play areas, or in suites (large enclosed areas where they cannot see each other, and there is a little more peace and quiet.) Any quirks your dogs may have can be accommodated, such as special foods, eating in separate areas away from the others, etc. All notes pop up on the TV screens in the various rooms so the employees are able to very easily keep track of the needs of your dogs. The staff also communicate via radios/headsets, so they can easily call for assistance if needed. The floors throughout the dog areas are made of rubberized sports flooring, as it is easy to clean and keep sanitary. They wash down the floors a couple times a day, and each room has an area dedicated to doggy doodoos, marked by an astroturf lawn with a bright red fire hydrant! Couple things my daughter and I both noticed: the place did not stink of dog, and I did not get my usual allergic reaction to being in a place that is 100% dog, 24/7! They definitely do a great job keeping this place clean! I was able to watch my dogs interact with the other dogs in the room, and felt comfortable leaving them there for the day (they stayed until almost closing time!) We downloaded the app on our phones and as I went through my errands for the rest of the afternoon, I kept my eye on the pups via the webcam. The staff member in the room with them was always moving around, cleaning up, gently separating the more rambunctious dogs, petting the dogs as she walked by, and the dogs generally followed her around; I got the sense that they liked her. At one point, she took hold of a particularly hyper dog and gave him a calming massage for several minutes, gently stroking his body from head to back, and it worked...when he did get up again, he bounced away, but his energy seemed much calmer! What a great feeling, to be able to see my pups interacting well with others...it gave me a great sense of comfort. When we picked them up, they seemed happy and not out of sorts. We lucked out as well...since it was May 4th (Star Wars day), they dressed the dogs up in Star Wars costumes for a photo shoot. We got an adorable pic of them dressed up as Chewbacca and Han Solo! I bought a 20 day pass (with a discount for getting them on the day of the meet and greet), and plan on dropping the dogs off a couple times a week for socialization and fun. read more

I am a new Dogtopia customer and I don't think I'd consider leaving my pup anywhere else. I was extremely anxious the first time I had to board him and I originally had reservations at Petsmart but not finding any reviews, I changed my mind and began the hunt for somewhere else. I found Dogtopia and luckily I work down the street so I went on my lunch break and inquired about boarding. They gave me a packet to fill out and I was able to bring my Snickerdoodle in for a meet and greet the very next day. After that, they offered to keep him for daycare until closing so he could get used to the place...free of charge! Unfortunately during his visit there was a confirmed case of kennel cough but they were very quick to email me and call me to inform me of the situation and that I could pick him up if I wanted. I had to leave him but the camera access eased my mind knowing that the dogs were now separated and the other playrooms were being sanitized from top to bottom. I also love how playtime is included in the price (as it should be) and that the canine coaches give my baby love and affection by picking him up and snuggling him. Last night I had to pick him up after another boarding visit and they stayed open late for me since I was coming in from out of town! I always get all of his stuff back and have a collection of their doggy report cards. My Snickerdoodle is usually very attaches to me but he is slowly learning to love his daycare/hotel! read more

So my dog stayed there several times in the past for boarding, i left town for a vacation and tried to call them for the last 2 days yo board my dog for 3 days, and nobody answered..This morning i called and they said to bring dog in, so a friend of mine went out of his way and took it to Dogtopia, to get rejected at the door, they said she is missing an influenza shot but she isnt missing ANY SHOTS and just had ALL her shots a month ago..Receptionist said she tried calling vet to verify but she couldn't get a hold of them and SO BE IT, my dog has NOWHERE to go, i am out of town, me and my family TRUSTED these JOKERS at Dogtopia, and they've treated me and my dog like we have diseases and cant qualify for their super stupid elite standards..They've lost my business FOREVER, and i promised myself to make it a personal mission to tell everyone to not trust Dogtopia and do NOT take your dog there..What a lousy, cruel, and HEARTLESS place to say the least...Not to mention the hundreds of dollars i spend out there, at least several times per year, (never again)several days of boarding at a time, they are definitely not good business people and the receptionist could have atleast called the Vet 1 more time. read more

Mike and his family are passionate owners who go above and beyond, sparing no expense to have the best facility in the Sacramento area. Michelle the general manager and the girls treat you like family not just in the business but when you run into them around town as well. Waited some more and a nice employee was walking by and asked if I had been helped and from there she was able to get someone to help me. They took my dog back and asked a couple questions. There's cameras in front where I saw my dog thrown into the room and instantly cornered by dogs. The people inside just stood there when my dog was in distress explaining that it's "normal" for them so they can get familiar. Afterwards, my dog was trembling/ peeing all the way back to me. Their process starts with a meet and greet to make sure your dog is compatible and capable of being around other dogs, something that you can really appreciate knowing they won't throw just anyone in with your pup. While the dog is in their care you can check on them with webcams during playtime which tends to be pretty addicting to watch if you're a dog lover. The atmosphere is nice, it appeared clean, and the staff was friendly. However, during a recent visit, my dog experienced an injury as a result of her grooming. At the time, the groomer stated she was not sure what happened. She did a good job applying quick clot which stopped the bleeding. A short time later, I inspected my pet and noticed her nail was trimmed very short and the pad under her claw had been clipped both of which caused bleeding. Mistakes happen from time to time. In this case I felt I was not treated with respect, and integrity seemed lacking during the interaction. The sales price of the service states it 'starts at $40' but the additional cost I paid ($15) was not itemized on my receipt. She is a small breed and is pretty mild mannered. It would have also been nice for ether the groomer or a manager to contact me by either email or by phone simply to check on my pet. In the end, the injury resulted in her claw falling off. I completed a review with a similar comment using their w, but never received a call or email although the system said I would. Every customer service experience is important, especially during the early months of a new business. I highly encourage these issues be addressed so other patrons can experience better service moving forward. Thank you. UPDATE: The owner contacted me and expressed his sincerest apologies for our experience. He also asked how my pet has recovers which was nice. Understanding this is a new business and it takes time to build strong service skills with a newer team, I plan to give them another try. The rating has been updated accordingly. read more

Everyone was so friendly from the moment we walked in the door. The facility is so clean and has such a smart and cute setup! The ability to check in via the Nest cameras gives us such a sense of security that our fur babies are being taken care of! We loved that Baron and Bella got "report cards" at the end that showed how their day was and what fur-ever friends they made! 10/10 for everything. Best doggie daycare by far! We've taken our dog to a few day care places on occasion to socialize. I started a new job a few months ago so I wouldn't be able to be at home with our dog Olive throughout the day anymore. She's still a puppy and really energetic so leaving her at home wasn't really an option. Olive loves going to Dogtopia and playing with all of her friends. The staff has taken really great care of her these past couple of months. I love that they have cameras so I can check on her throughout the day. They keep their facilities really clean and I love that they have a really nice coffee maker for when I need a little pick me up in the morning during drop off. This place is great! They do an initial consult with your dog to make sure they are suitable to play with others, which is good and so important. Their facilities are very clean, well air-conditioned and roomy for dogs to run around and have fun. They also have an app you can download to make reservations and to watch your dogs via the dog cam while they play! My wife and I want to thank Mike, Nicole, Meg, Clarissa, Jordyn and Taylor for taking such great care of our dogs Axle and Buddy. We were displaced from our home in Butte County due to the Bear Fire and while staying at friends in Folsom decided that the best thing to do was leave our fur babies at a doggy spa. We Yelped doggy spas and saw the excellent reviews for Dogtopia in Rancho Cordova. We called and spoke with Nicole. She eased our stress and told us to come on down for a meet and greet. We could tell everyone was genuinely concerned for our dogs and our situation. The dogs ended up staying at Dogtopia for 27 days! We would drive down on weekends and Meg would see to it that we were able to spend some quality time with our boys. The owner Mike actually went out and bought the dogs their favorite brand of dog food when it ran out instead of making us drive 4 hours round trip to do it ourselves. Clarissa at the front desk was always accommodating and caring and took care of every concern we had. We can't say enough about Dogtopia and the staff!! clean and no dog spell when you walk in. Love the fact that there is someone in both rooms all the time to watch the dogs. Really like the afternoon nap activity and glad to hear that food is covered with the fee. Mike, Nicole, Katie were very helpful and friendly...complimentary coffee and beverages a BIG plus for us dropping off our dogs before commuting to work and able to see the video cam is a bonus! read more

This place is AWESOME!! I am an animal advocate and a passionate Dog Mom of two amazing Northern Inuits. My pups don't stay home alone. When they can't be with their human pack, I want them to be safe, have exercise, have love and have fun!! Dogtopia checked all the boxes!! This place is amazing. We have been taking our pup here since he was 5 months old. The facility is very clean and dog safe. They have a webcam to allow you to see what your pup is up to, which is super fun to watch. It is reasonably priced especially considering what we get out of it - a tired and happy puppy! All the employees are really nice and make you feel secure about dropping your fur baby off. Highly recommend! read more
