Ive been living very close for years and have visited this place 4-5 times over a period of about 6 years. I expected lackluster food to be honest as that's generally how it's been, but for the convenience and hours I have been hopeful for a change after a couple years. I took a friend out that was craving dessert and sadly it was at an hour where the neighborhood restaurants were closed. I will say the establishment is nicely decorated and the vibe isn't bad. Sadly, if you were to sit down and expect any level of service or anything more than minimally edible food I'd expect to be disappointed. I was handed my bill well before closing and within a few minutes of ordering my food and about 30-40 minutes before even getting my food while sitting at a table. Of course they add a poorly communicated/not communicated service charge to the bill, calculated post tax, and then their payment system that the server will struggle to use will attempt to ask you for a tip with recommendations that they calculate on the bill after the aforementioned service charges/taxes. Only positive part was that I actually received my food. Unfortunately, that was also completely lackluster. Ignoring the price completely but just on food quality, I actually would have been better off running to the 711 next door for a hot dog or ice cream. It would be better. Unfortunate, because the hours, location, and building has a lot of potential. Music is popping until like 5am and the kitchen doesn't close until about 30 minutes before close. I have had a few nights where I have ended up here at ungodly hours and this was one of them. We stopped here at Doghouse late on a Saturday night as most every other eatery in this area of Brickell was closed or dead relatively early. We grabbed the last 2 stools at the bar and the bartender was there right away with menus. The long, double-sided menu here is fairly extensive. They offer salads, burgers, hot dogs and sausages, subs, wraps, paninis, finger foods/appetizers, fries about 8 different ways, and a few desserts. They also have a fair amount of beers available as well as a full bar. We both ordered a bottle of imported beer, my partner ordered a burger and I a Philly Cheese Steak. The bartender mentioned that neither of our orders came with a side, so we asked for an order of fries to share. We were both happy with our food; For the Philly Cheese Steak they don't use processed beef like some restaurants do - here at Doghouse they use an actual steak, fry it and chop it up for the sandwich. As others have mentioned, the decor here is cool and modern. Several unique light bulbs with exposed filaments hang from a wooden beam which, along with a few chandelier-type fixtures, illuminate the wooden butcher-block tables and bar. The bar itself isn't huge but is well stocked for its size, and as mentioned previously, they have a solid beer selection. They also offer hookah. My primary reason for giving only 3 stars, which isn't terrible and means "A-OK" on Yelp, is that prices at Doghouse are probably a dollar or two higher for at least some menu items than they should be. Imported beers were $8/bottle, my partner's burger was $12 and my cheese steak was $11 and was actually quite small. Though it was listed under the "specialty subs" section of the menu, the Philly Steak was served on a bun not much larger than a hot dog bun and was relatively flat as it didn't have much contents. It certainly wasn't stuffed with meat, onions, peppers and cheese as these sandwiches usually are at most restaurants. We walked in and I was surprised to see a spacious bar with plenty of seating for guests. I ordered tacos and and un I'm maisotos. My friend who is a California breed native that's has eaten plenty of authentic tacos. Bit of a lengthy read. Absolutely terrible service run by dodgy people. I arrived with a party of 6 around 3am on Sunday (two days ago) when the bartender said they're only serving fried foods. We were fine with that since we were ordering loaded fries and a hookah. The bartender told us to order from him instead of online since it would be quicker. He disappears for 10 min when we were ready to order so we ordered from another employee who spoke v little English. I was able to guide him properly through sending the order to the kitchen via their POS system. Keep in mind, I saw him correctly place our order as 3 loaded fries ($9.99 each). About 20 minutes go by and two other parties arrived. We asked for a hookah and were told no. 5 min later, we see a table next to us receive a hookah AFTER we were just told we couldn't get one without reason. About 30 min into our time there, the non English speaking server walks to our table with 3 orders of loaded fries and pulls a U-turn delivering the fries to one of the parties that came long after us. Then, the second party that came after us gets their food while we still haven't received our food after 50 minutes. We confronted the bartender asking about the hookah and he sends the non English speaking guy out with a hookah for us (The hookah is priced at $30 on their menu). Then, we asked about the fries we never received since it's been about an hour at this point. He says the guy is new, speaks no English and doesn't know what he's doing. Minutes later, the bartender comes out with 4 orders of loaded fries for us. He said he gave us an extra order for the inconvenience and threw in the extra chorizo, bacon, etc free of charge. We finally get our bill and it was $134. Mind you, the loaded fries were $9.99 and we ordered 3. Bartender gave us an extra order stating it's free of charge but we were charged for it anyway. Remember the extra chorizo, bacon, etc that he said he added for free also? We were charged extra for that too. The $30 hookah? Showed up as $50 on the bill. Then they had the audacity to add a service charge for the garbage service we received. I confront the bartender about the errors and his only response is, "sorry, it is what it is bro." This was after we disputed the outrageous bill. So we ended up paying $134 for french fries that took over an hour to receive and a hookah that we were charged for inconsistent with the price on the menu. I've been here a few times before and the worst I've experienced was a 30 min wait for a burger which wasn't enough for me to leave a bad review but this most recent experience was unacceptable. 10/10 would NOT recommend ever going to this disgusting, dodgy place. You're better off eating at McDonald's or roadkill if the drive-thru line is too long. read more

The panini was cut in two halves. The first half was really good but then the second half had a little meat that was too tough to chew. I had to use my fingers to tear it apart into digestible bites. We had also ordered some fries that were interesting. I'm not sure what it was cooked in but it was crispy none the less so I was happy. Came here with 2 friends on Cinco de Mayo in the afternoon since we just wanted something to eat for lunch. We check the menu and see they have happy hour including beer, cocktails and wines. We ask the server(who was also the bartender) what cocktails we could order and she said only beer. Weird since on the menu it says something different but no big deal. My friend ended up ordering a Corona. My other friends asks what sodas they have and she says coke and sprite(weird for a restaurant to only have 2 sodas, specially a Colombian one). We order a burger, a chicken caesar wrap and a chicken caesar salad. The burger took about 30 minutes to come out, then another 5 minutes for the wrap to come out and another 20 minutes for the salad. Mind you there was no one else in the restaurant the entire time. We happen to look up and in the fridge they have more sodas than just coke and sprite. This was annoying because why would you say you only have 2 when you have more? After an hour we finally were able to eat and the food was good, but it did not justify the time for 3 simple dishes with no apology nor an explanation. My friend whom ordered the beer had to leave since his lunch break is an hour and we were there for almost an hour and fifteen minutes(before receiving our check). We got the check and saw that the beer was $6.50 so we ask the girl if that's happy hour price, she says yes because it's 2x1. That was not stated anywhere on the menu nor did she mention it the whole hour and fifteen minutes that my friend was there(the one who ordered the beer). The restaurant is located in Brickell near many trendy and modern business's. It's not a big location but very cute and cozy. :) When you first arrive you are seated and are greeted by your server the IPad! "How modern is that?" The tables light up just like a disco dance floor! Cool! Your order is placed on the IPad, which you can pick and choose exactly what you want and don't want. Sure take your time ordering nobody is rushing you! The restaurant is mostly popular for their hot dogs but you can also order hamburgers, chicken wings, etc.. We ordered hot dogs and hamburgers and 2-for-1 margaritas. Our food arrived like 20 min. later. The food was very tasty and the portions as well were big. We ordered the California Hot dog, The Chorrizo Hot dog, and 2 American Burgers. The fun part is you can search the web or even play Pac-Man after ordering, which is great if you take your kids!
