Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing price. The location is small but excellent ambiance as you're surrounded by Miami sports all around. I got the Miami Marlins dog and it was excellent.
I will not lie, I am pretty indifferent about hot dogs. But these were the exception! The hot dog itself was high quality and really flavorful and could truthfully stand on its own. But the toppings were also really delicious (the mac and cheese specifically... and the crispy bacon!!) and the FRIES!! My favorite kind: crispy, battered, and piping hot. Part of me regrets not trying the cheese fries cuz I'm sure they slap, but also I was already so full I might not have made it home lol. Employees were really friendly and helpful-- overall a wonderful experience!!!!
Come with me to Sweet Dogs located in Coral Gables. Right on 8th Street is this small joint with incredible hot dog options. Given the title "Best Hot Dogs in the 305," you can taste why. I found out about Sweet Dogs because a friend posted them. I was amazed by how good they looked. I went on a Sunday afternoon with my brother, and it was empty. We were kindly greeted by Angel, who works there. I ordered the Dolphins Dog and The Mac Dog. The Dolphin Dog has grilled ham, smoked bacon, melted mozzarella cheese, pineapple, homemade sauce, and papitas. The Mac Dog is made with Mac and cheese, Parmesan cheese, and garlic croutons. They use a Polish sausage for their dogs, and for me, this makes them incredible; it has excellent flavor and is juicy. My brother devoured the Dolphin dog, I got a bite, and the flavor was great. I've had Mac and cheese hot dogs before, but The Mac Dog is taking the #1 spot. The buns they use are nice and soft, the Mac and cheese are creamy, and the crushed croutons add a nice texture and flavor. We also ordered their fries, and they were perfectly crispy. Overall, Sweet Dogs was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was terrific, and I will for sure be back.
Whole in the wall! Most is made to order so you'mre guaranteed something fresh. I wish it was nicely decorated on the inside but it's underwhelming just like walking into a regular shmegular countertop cafe, I love the uniqueness of the product tho! Definitely treat yourself to it at least once!
Wow. I mean. I'm really at a loss for words. That doesn't really happen to me much but I must say this place is a hidden gem. I've lived in the area for YEARS and yesterday was my first time trying this spot. From the customer service, to the concept of the restaurant, to the flavors.... Everything was 10/10. We had The Sweet Dog and The Dolphins, both cut in half so that we could each try it and wow they did not disappoint. Every once in a while I crave a hot dog, and these fulfilled my cravings and more. The decor around the small restaurant is nostalgic as their theme is "Miami Home Teams" so they got the Wade and Bosh Jerseys and a few OG Dolphins ones as well. I can't wait to come back here and try more flavors.
Ugh I've been wanting to try this place forever. Parking was a total pain in the butt! This is a hole in the wall. Smells like fried food, but it's not gross. The server was so nice and helpful. I ordered the Heat hotdog. I really didn't care for it. The chili was not my favorite at all. I took off the chili the most I could and it was good. The hotdog was great. Mac and cheese was VERY good. The popcorn options were yummy. The guy let me try them but for the price of a bag, I skipped. Will I go again? Yes. But I will not order the heat.
If you don't know, you need to! This little gem is tucked into an easily ignored plaza on 8th but the food, service and quality cannot and should not be ignored. Try the popcorn while you're there and don't be afraid to ask questions about the menu! Everything is super unique and the owner was there to answer questions and provide samples! Excellent, 5-star find!
Good food, tight space, but friendly staff!! Hubby and I were in Miami for a long layover so we decided to doodle around town!! Other Yelpers gave this place great reviews so we had to see what the fuss was all about. It was about a 10 minute ride from the airport in a little strip mall. Upon entering, we were greeted by the owner. He gave us a review of the menu and let us sample the popcorn. I ended up ordering 3 bags ($8 each) of popcorn to share with the family when I got back. We also ordered the mac and cheese (SUPER almost too cheesy), the sweet dog ( bacon, sauce and crunchy chinese noodles), the Heat (beans, cheese, guac, corn chips), Mozz sticks and fries. There was very little seating, but there was only one other couple there so there was space for us to sit. Although hubby and I thought the food was good, I probably wouldn't go back again. It was sort of a novelty experience!!!
Sweet Dogs is the spot for amazing hot dogs or popcorn! It's a small joint that houses specialty hot dogs named after local sports teams or schools and amazing popcorn combos. They also have custom hot dogs if you're not into all the toppings, as well as other desserts like soft serve! Chef Jeo is incredible - so funny and incredibly great service. I went with a friend who had visited once before, and he remembered him after that one encounter months back. We ended up getting the Heat, the U, a side of mac and cheese, the Calle Ocho mix (Oreo, cheddar, and butter popcorn), and their new Crunchy Mix - Cinnamon Toast Crunch popcorn! Both hot dogs were so good. I preferred the U, but the Heat was also tasty with the chili and jalapeños. I loved the addition of corn chips on top for added crunch! The hot dogs had a great snap and were so juicy. I didn't get a chance to try the mac and cheese, but my friend enjoyed it. The popcorns are so delicious and addicting - not too sweet, with just the right mix of sweet and salty. I'm definitely coming back whenever I'm in the area and craving a good hot dog!
Hot diggity Sweet Dogs it is...! This place has to be one of my fav cheap eats of this Summer..! These "go big or go home" type of hot dogs are pure hot dog delight..! Place - Small with limited seating but clean; and what it lacks in size, it makes up for in service & food. Owner - Took care of us and he was friendly, welcoming and what I liked - He's proud of his product and stands by its quality. He gave us the 411 on how to order and how we can curtail our order to our bellies contentment. Popcorn - Samples of their gourmet popcorn are giving out while your hot dogs are being prepared. Tried - Calle 8 mix (chocolate oreo coated popcorn, white cheddar & butter popcorn)...butter-licious...! My fav - Sweet Mix (candy coated guava popcorn, white cheddar & butter popcorn)...if you take abuela a bag, you may become her favorite..! The popcorn bags run about $8/each. Hot dogs - Ordered *Miami Vice ($7.95) - met my suggested daily calories with this one..! The combo of the chili, slaw, cheese, onion & corn chips coulda been a meal of its own and when blended with the 1/4 lb. Nathan's hot dog, it hit all the food senses...delicious...! *Reg. Hot dog (about $3.50) - Simple, hearty and foodie satisfaction with every bite. *Saw - Italian Sausage with peppers and onions and it took me back to Chicago. The grilled to perfection peppers/onions along with the well seasoned sausage is a definite must try next time. If you're into hot dogs like I am, this place is a must try 'cause there's nothing out there like it. Not a 5-Star yet 'cause I need to go back to try other things...Bon Appétit...!
Me and my wife came here today. And I'll admit I'm not a hotdog guy , but Jesus this was great! Between the food being unfathomably good. Gio was a complete pleasure to talk to. He had us laughing the whole time, as he single handedly executed an afternoon rush. As a chef I'm impressed with the resolve he has when it comes to ensuring quality food is being served.
Customer service was AMAZING. The owner was very nice and gave us various delicious pop corn samples while we decided what hot dog to eat. The hot dogs are hands down delicious! Their Oreo popcorn is delish as well! There was outdoor seating accommodations due to COVID-19. They also sell great colada's!
Really, really GREAT hot dogs!! Pick one of their creations or create your own - either way, you won't be disappointed!! The quality of all the ingredients are top notch. But wait...there's more! Lol The fries, the shakes (I had a little taste test), and gourmet popcorn are #chefskiss!!

If you're in the mood for some delicious hot dogs, this is undoubtedly the place to be! The owner is incredibly friendly and personally served us, taking the time to prepare our food with care and attention to detail. While we waited for our meal, we had the delightful opportunity to sample his amazing popcorn varieties, each one more flavorful than the last, offering a delightful surprise with every bite. It's truly a fantastic spot for a date night if you're seeking something low-key yet satisfying, with a touch of charm and warmth. The cozy atmosphere and the owner's warm hospitality make it a memorable experience that you won't soon forget. Whether you're a hot dog enthusiast who appreciates a well-crafted meal or just looking for a fun and tasty outing with friends or family, this place is sure to impress and leave you with a smile on your face! read more
Whether you are looking for a simple dog or a creative concept dog. Sweet Dogs is the place. Inside is small. But service is quick and the owner is always there to greet and take care of you. But today I specifically came in for something a little different. On Saturdays they put their spin on cinnamon rolls and it's first come first serve till sold out. So I had to stop by early and give them a try. They had the OG cinnamon roll which was classic and delicious. Super gooey ooey. My kid loved them. But my mature taste buds craved for a little something more adventurous. So I had to try the guava and cheese cinnamon roll and the salted caramel pecan cinnamon roll. Both literally made my toes curl. They lasted seconds from when I brought them home as the whole family devoured them. Now I'm sad as I write this as I have to wait another week but most definitely I'm going grab multiples. Highly recommend to give Sweet Dogs a try and if you are lucky enough to grab one of these delicious cinnamon rolls...you're welcome! read more

If dogs could talk, they'd bark delicious woof woof.. I've been in miami for so long and I failed to discover this place earlier. First, I love love the staff. The young man at the register greeted us with a smile and an invitation to all the delicious hot dog choices. We ordered the Miami Heat topped with chilli. Muy delicioso!!! Every bite you take it gets better and better, but also becomes sad that it's almost done. To top it off,the little snickers bar was a great add on. The fries came straight from the fryer and tasted just as good.. The place may be tiny on the inside but the food and flavors have plenty of heart! The entire places have moments of Miami's past, from sports to pictures of old miami buildings. Tourists and locals alike need to visit this place! read more

Why 5 stars? Because there isn't a better cheat meal on Earth. --- --- --- When I am trying to be healthy, I crave carbs like there's literally a satanic force inside my belly that feeds off the souls of bread, chips and cheese. I don't often crave hot dogs, but after a few days of clean eating, I feel like I'd pay $1,000 for a gourmet hot dog, if I know it didn't cancel out my whole week of behaving myself. Sweet Dogs specifically, is the greatest cheat meal of all the cheat meals in the land. These gourmet dogs are not your run-of-the-mill Oscar Meyer Weiners. This meat is legit, but it just so happens to be in the same general form of what you'd see at a no frills BBQ cookout. It's just oh-so-much better. I took a 15 minute Uber ride here from my hotel, strictly for the purpose of grabbing a late lunch, and then heading back to my room. There's not much to the interior - you walk up to a bar where you order, and there's a few chairs to sit at. I was fortunately here during an off-peak time, but I'd guess that most people order these to go? Either way, it's worth whatever you need to do. I ordered the Dolphin, which has bacon, mozzarella cheese, pineapple sauce and papitas. It was possibly the best thing that's ever happened to me. I also ordered the mac-n-cheese, which comes with croutons and parmesan cheese. Hey, I have a question: how come nobody in the history of Earth has invented mac-n-cheese with croutons and parm until now? Sweet Dogs, thousands of years from now, when future mankind looks back at this era, they will speak of the Sweet Dogs mac-n-cheese in the same vein as we look at the wheel and the telephone. It's going to be hard not going here for every single future visit to Miami. I wish I could go every day until I've tried everything on the menu. read more

Little hole in the wall with a large selection of hot dogs Their menu is a true representation of miami with their south Florida sports team names included in the menu. We had the marlins and dolphins hot dogs. Both are a great size and we're delicious! The Marlins hotdog had sweet plantain it's a small venue but there are two outdoor tables. Support local businesses! Also the employees were very sweet. read more
This place is a hidden gem that my brother noticed while driving home. We finally decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed at all. THey have great quality hot dogs with delicious toppings. Be warn this hot dogs are massive and be prepared to get dirty lol. As soon as yOu walk in you are greeted by the people working there and I was so impressed how welcoming they were. They explained the menu and exceptional customer service. We decided to try the chili cheese fries, Italian sausage dog, and the Mac and cheese dog. Absolutely delicious dogs with lots of toppings but it all balanced off. read more

This hole in the wall joint definitely lives up to the hype. We met the owner, Victor, and he did a really good job of explaining the menu. He also showed passion and it seemed he really cared and enjoyed what he does for a living. My friend ordered the Miami Heat (which Victor said was the most popular). While I ordered the Florida Panthers which was a hot dog topped with grilled ham, sauteed peppers & onions, sesame seeds, sweet relish, sweet & sour sauce, and la choy noodles which added an extra crunch all in a lightly toasted hot dog bun. When the food came out, I almost didn't know how to eat it! The portions were passive. When I took a bite, all the flavors came bursting out and complemented each other so well. The saltiness of the hot dog with peppers and onions mixed with the sweet relish and sweet & sour sauce and the crunch of the noodles topped it off so well. If I am ever in the area again, I will make sure to swing by this joint! read more
Sweet Dogs has excellent hot dogs and service! As good as the food is, the owner, Victor, is even better. Super nice guy. This was my first time to Sweet Dogs. As soon as I walked thru the door, he greeted me with a smile and asked if it was my first time and how I heard about them. He explained the menu to me very patiently. I decided on the Dog of the Day, which was the Mr. Chili and only $5. I got my dog fried and added coleslaw, which I'm glad I did because it's made in-house and is really good. I loved it. He also gave me some homemade gourmet popcorn to taste. My favorite was the Oreo popcorn, I will probably return for some of that alone. He gives you a mini candy bar with your food. It's little customer service touches like that I appreciate. Highly recommend Sweet Dogs. read more

OMG one of the best hot dogs I've ever had. Met the members of our HOT DOG CLUB for lunch there today and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our hot dogs and we all got something different. I had Wednesday's special the MR. CHILL and it was terrific. No skimpy little weiners either...these were big and juicy and flavorful. Generous with the toppings but they were also willing to customize as well...deleted what some did not choose to include. I actually had to cut mine with a fork and knife. The guys working there were so nice too. Worth the drive from South Kendall and from Ft Lauderdale. Will definitely be back. read more

I'm giving 5 stars for my experience but 0 for the abysmal parking lot this great establishment is located in. I say this because the horrible excuse for parking in this small plaza was packed so full my car literally had 2 inches of free space on either side before almost hitting other cars trying to squeeze out after finding no empty spaces. You're better off parking at the cvs down the street and walking. Now that my rant is over--Victor the owner is a friendly guy who was really welcoming as soon as I walked in and helped me to ultimately follow my heart and my stomach and choose the marlin dog. I did not go wrong, and also went with the mac and cheese as a side which was a little runny compared to other mac and cheese's that I've eaten but tasty nonetheless. They even snuck in a Twix bar for dessert haha, what a treat. This joint is open 7 days a week AND open til 3am on the weekends, couldn't ask for more. read more

I had both the Dolphin and the U. Both were incredible and unique flavors. Let me start by saying that the owner of this joint really impressed me with his hospitality and care for his customers. I came in here on two occasions and both times the owner and the employees were genuinely happy and friendly. The owner personally filled up my water cup 3x without me even asking. What a good guy. Thanks, man. I wish we could grab a beer sometime, haha. The environment seems very convivial and family-oriented. All Sweet Dogs are clearly 100% Beef, delicious and massive hot dogs (the quality borders on a fine sausage, even.) Seriously, I don't usually like the taste of hot dogs, but these are really good and remind me of high quality Jewish NYC dogs. The Dolphin came with Grilled Ham, Smoked, Bacon, Melted Mozzarella Cheese, Pineapple, Home Sauce, and Papitas. Mmmm. So good. With that many flavors, I can't really describe it other than to say you've got to try it. We went back to get the U: Smoked Bacon, Sauteed Onions, Sauerkraut, Chopped Tomato, Chip Salsa, Corn Chips. This one I liked even better than the first. I think the Sauerkraut & Salsa really balanced out the fattier elements of the dog in a way that the Dolphin, while very excellent, did not. This joint is great. Come in for a dog, you will not be disappointed. read more

Just imagine everything you could hope to find in a hot dog, that is what Victor Ruiz has done here at Sweet Dogs. It's not just your typical, I mean sure, if that's what you're all about, then go for it, they'll make one right for you. But this menu has brought a local feel to hot dogs. The names are enticing, everything from The Heat to The U to The Panther. It's delicately awesome. And what goes into these dogs is flavorful and unique. I tried The Marlin, and as tasty as it was, I can't wait to return to try the whole entire hot dog team. Oh, and you get a mini candy to go with it? Don't mind if I do. And what goes better with hot dogs than ice cream and milkshakes? Or homemade mac n cheese, seasoned fries? Yum, yum and yum. As the mastermind behind this hot dog venue, what Victor Ruiz is doing is amazing and he needs to keep right at it. Talking to him, you can tell that he is one passionate fellow and his enthusiasm helps make this such a great establishment. read more

I started coming here in 2012. Everything was really delicious, but I have to say, I just didn't think the place would last because of it's location and the fact that it was always empty when I came. Boy, did they prove me wrong! And I'm so glad they did! Part of the reason this place is doing so well is not only that everything is delicious, but the owner is SUPER nice and everyone who works there always makes you feel at home. They have signature hot dogs with some very creative and yummy combinations, but they also give you the option to load your hot dog as you please. All of their hot dogs are Nathan's hot dogs. They also offer Italian and Polish sausages for an extra charge if you prefer. The hot dogs are huge! My favorite is the Dolphin - Grilled Ham, Smoked, Bacon, Melted Mozzarella Cheese, Pineapple, Home Sauce, and Papitas. Such a good mix of flavors, I love it! I also like the home made mac n cheese. They top it with croutons, creative and delish. With every hot dog, they give you a little sweet chocolate treat :) They are now making natural juices, my husband had the guanabana, and he said it was really tasty. I want to try the watermelon on my next visit :) read more
