They charged us a fee of $400 for 150 ices and showed up right on time. The students were super excited when they saw the truck pull in! I thought it would take a long time to serve 150 ices; but it's actually really fast. The attendant has the ice cups ready and the adult volunteers did the flavor pumps. We let students choose up to 3 flavors . So many to choose from including: pina colada, cherry, lime , blue raspberry, mango, Groovy Grape, and Tiger's Blood, (not sure what that is....but it was extremely popular!) I actually tried one since I'd never had one, mango & lime, and it was delicious! Kona Ice is a great option for a fun, inexpensive, refreshing treat on a hot day!

Before I could get out the words "what do you sweeten your syrups with", I saw the sign on the truck stating they only use stevia mixed with cane sugar. Boy that made me a happy camper! Not only that, the sign also said GMO-Free, HFCS-Free, Soy-Free, and Dairy-Free. I ordered a medium sized ice with watermelon, mango and another flavor that I cannot remember. I had the option to pour the syrups myself or the owner could do it. I opted for the owner to do it since I hadn't had one of these since I was a kid. I hadn't had one in so long primarily because I avoid HFCS like the plague. Well it really cooled me off, while also giving me a nice fruity ice desert to munch on.

Thankfully we found parking near the movie theaters, and since Master Paletas is outside, you don't have to go through the (mad) crowd. There was only one girl working. This same girl is offering samples at the door. We walked in, got out vanilla and Nutella sample, and went to the counter to look at the flavors menu. She immediately came behind the counter, ready to take our order. Flavors available were: Coconut with dulce de leche, Kiwi, Guava, Pistachio, Passion Fruit with or without Condensed milk inside, Strawberry with or without Condensed milk inside, Vanilla with Nutella, Chocolate with Nutella. I also saw that other days they've had green tea (would go back to try it), peanut butter, Frappuccino and other flavors. Cost per paleta is around $5. They have some deals, if you by "X" amount 1 free but we didn't get that many. I, of course went with the Passion Fruit with Condensed milk inside. Really LOVED how they kept the tart true flavor of the fruit. The condensed milk gives it a nice sweet creamy taste, making this paleta almost addictive. Really liked the pistachio one too - not too sweet, and the Strawberry one is very refreshing. They have some small tables inside and some outside but you can enjoy them "on the go" too. The girl, even though she went back to giving her sample at the door, kept an eye on us, and everyone that came in the store to make sure her clients weren't unattended.
