I have been boarding my 3 pups here for two years. During the first year, we boarded several times. My pups received their meds and seemed happy when brought home. During the past year, this has changed. In April of 2024, they were there for 6 nights. We brought their pet beds. Upon pick up, one bed was urine soaked. My fur babies came home very exhausted. Slept and no energy for several days. I thought I would give another chance since the first year went well and boarded them for 6 nights June 2024. I didn't have a good feeling when I dropped them off. It was yet another new worker in her early 50's. We dropped off on a Sunday afternoon. She was there by herself and seemed very overwhelmed. Too many dogs there at the time for one person. When picking my pups up, all three were exhausted like they didn't get any rest there and very hoarse. When I got home and went to feed them and give meds, I discovered that my pups did not get any meds! My one pup is on not one but two anxiety meds. He got neither! Two pups are on Apoquel for allergies. Neither pup received. I called and let a message for the owner. She called me a few days later. Her response was I have several new girls working and they probably didn't feel comfortable calling you. Really?!? I had all information on an index card for each dog in its own storage bag with all medication bottles! I even reiterated the fact that my one pup NEEDS his anxiety meds. read more

(One of the groomers, Addy Seiler, posted a couple of comments about me on her FaceBook page. According to her, I am a "wakadoo." So, if a customer has legitimate complaints, he is "an eccentric or fanatical person." Yet, I am not the one portraying myself--in many pictures--as a...kitten. =^.^=) First of all, from the outside the place was a terrible, rundown mess. Inside it was even worse; it looked dirty and (very badly) patched up, a real zoo--pun intended. As we entered, there were dogs in a room with a large glass window; the room didn't look too clean, with a filthy mattress on the floor. When I first called, the lady who answered the phone--I am assuming it was the owner--was very curt. Their website has a price list: https://www.doggonegorgeous.net/grooming. (As soon as they read this review, they added a + sign to most prices.) My two 7-lb dogs had the "Full Service Bath" and were charged $30/each--plus the nice tip we gave the groomer. When we got home I checked the price list again: TINY up to 8 pounds was $23.00. After sending two emails and not getting an answer, I called them. I was told, first, that "it depends on the groomer:... Depends on the groomer's what? Then, that the prices online are an "estimate" (they belatedly added that information). And then that "prices are subject to change at anytime without a notice" (also recently added). So, which is it: groomer, estimate or sudden change? Imagine using a service that has a fluctuating price list! And that is why I love Capitalism: plenty of other groomers in town. read more

We were visiting Kalahari for two nights and needed a place to board our dog. DogGone is the only place in Sandusky that does this. That being said, I could not have been happier with this business. My dog is not easy and I was pretty nervous about leaving her. She ended up in one of their doggie condos when she didn't really socialize well with the other dogs. That was the perfect place for her and I'm very grateful they went that route. I didn't choose to have her bathed before pickup because again....she's persnickety. She still smelled good and they even washed her blanket for me. I would definitely recommend this business to others! read more

Turned my 8 month old doodle into a poodle. Unbelievable that without our consent they shaved our baby to maybe 1/2 inch from 5-6 inches. He was not matted and it's winter! They never called to ask if it was ok or let us know when they phoned he was ready for pickup. Who does this?! He was unrecognizable to us! They acted like they did nothing wrong when I spoke to them and had the nerve to say it had to be done eventually. Did not offer a refund until after my parents called to cancel their appointment for the following day for their pup. Then they followed up with a sarcastic unprofessional voicemail. read more

This is the worst dog grooming place I have ever been. I brought my briar in to get her mats brushed out and they were so lazy they shaved her and when I wanted a refund they refused because they said they worked hard on her which in fact they did the easiest thing they could do to save time. I disputed the charges and will never recommend or take another dog their again. Never ever take your dog here. read more

This is the absolute best place to bring your dog for daycare. I can't say for the other services, as I did not use the other services. We live out of town and brought our dog Remi here for a day and a half while we went to a business conference, and he had an absolute blast. He got to play with a few different dogs and was totally pooped out by the end of the day. When we went the second day his tail was wagging as we pulled up the the building and he couldn't wait to get inside! We just picked him up from a half day and he's tired yet again from playing all morning. I love this especially considering we have a 4 hour ride home and he got plenty of exercise. I have been taking my two cocker spaniel there for over a year now, even did some daycare. The dog look and smell good after daycare. My groomer does wonderful job she even listen to me about how I wanted them done. I can be pain in ass about how they get cut. read more

We were extremely pleased with the facility and the staff. They were very flexible, took us last minute. Our dog had a grooming while there, very nice job!! Allowed us to tour the facility which helped us feel more comfortable leaving our pet. They gave our dog a Grooming Report Card and she received an A+, which my kids loved!!! When I picked up my dog from these people, I thought all was well. After we got home, he began playing with his toys and I looked down to see that there was blood all over my carpet. Upon inspection, I saw that two of his claws had been cut way too much and he was bleeding profusely from them. I called the groomers to ask what had happened and was told by Amy that she had nicked him, but had gotten the bleeding to stop. I feel she should have told me this when I picked him up. It's as if she were trying to hide from me the fact that she had hurt him. I completely understand that accidents do happen and all, but again I should have known when we left the groomers that there was a possibility that he could bleed again due to her mistake. Because of her total disregard in telling me, my little guy will never again set foot in this establishment. I did not even receive an apology or anything. But, of course, they were very quick to swipe my credit card! Totally unprofessional and seemingly uncaring for the well-being of the animals who are entrusted to their care. read more
