Jessica and Rachel from Chelsea Dog accommodated us, even staying a bit longer than their normal business hours so that we wouldn't have to leave the wedding early. Our dogs were treated, loved on, walked, and, when we went to pick them up, completely tired from playing with all the other doggie guests (including Jess and Rachel's pups [always a good sign when the owner/employees bring their dogs to the facility]). We wouldn't have been able to enjoy the wedding without their assistance, and the peace of mind Chelsea Dog provided for us, as we knew our pups were in good hands. This doggie daycare/grooming facility is definitely the way to go if you're in town for Cedar Point, the lakeside resorts, a local or whatever.

When I brought this issue to the management's attention, they did not deny it or address my concerns. To make it worse I drove my dogs there for 20 minutes, after we parked, there is walk to the store, I carried the little one, but the other one had to walk in this heat on asphalt and they did not get groomed at the end. It will take at least a week to get an appointment at another groomer. I expect all businesses to treat every customer and their pets with basic care and and unfortunately that was not my experience here.

Trim Rover, Trim Rover?…read more Let Julie come over! Our rescue dog went from a life of abject poverty to one of blissful luxury. At least by canine standards. In his current life, he now has soft little beds in every room of the house and meals prepared by hand. Not MY hand, you kidding? I can barely feed and clothe my sorry excuse for a life, you think the dog stands a chance? Naah, he's a charmer and gets the rest of the family to attend to his every need. EXCEPT the grooming part, which is now the purview of Julie and Fuzzy Hearts Grooming. Here's how it works: Julie pulls into the driveway in her Mobile Grooming Lab and Styling Emporium, plugs a super-long extension cord in and then your pooch hops in, and I guess the magic happens. I stayed in the house where I couldn't offer any of that, uh... "help." In a half hour or so, Julie did a masterful grooming job, clipped the nails, probably told some stories about other dogs, y'know. The way chit-chat goes down in the salon. Then, with a brand new kerchief and a bounce in his step, the luckiest dog in Ohio leaped out of the truck, back in the house and stood in front of the mirror, for what seemed like hours. Handsome, beyond measure. Beyond belief. "There comes a time when you look into the mirror and you realize that what you see is all that you will ever be. And then you accept it. Or you kill yourself. Or you stop looking in mirrors." ― Tennessee Williams

While I do trust the staff at Mutt-Hutt, I am a little disappointed with one thing in particular.... My Bailey (75lb German Short Haired Pointer) has stayed at the Mutt Hutt on several occasions. Both for day care and several overnight stays of both short and extended lengths. The advantage of this place is the cage free environment they offer. Bailey no longer sleeps in a crate at home so we thought it would be more comfortable for him to stay at a place that would allow him to socialize freely with the other dogs and at the end of the night, sleep on the hodge podge furniture throughout this house. The last time we picked him up, the staff said Bailey isn't allowed to stay overnight anymore. Ruh Roh! Apparently he "barks" too much. Huh? I could understand if he was aggressive, but he's not. At all. High energy, yes, but he's also the kindest, most gentle soul you'd ever meet. But he barks a tad too much according to the staff. That's like saying your child can't stay at day care anymore because your kid cries or talks too much. Nothing wrong with the kid. He plays well with others and is generally fun to be around, but he makes noise. What? Thanks anyways Mutt Hutt. We'll find somewhere else to take our pooch.
