I worked for Kate for a little under 6 months. She is so, so wonderful! She truly cares SO much about the animals and has their absolute best interest at heart. I had such a great time working with her, we would constantly send each other cute pup pics back and forth, which she would forward to the owners. Kate and her walkers are the best I have ever hired. I work a normal 8-5 office job and needed a daily walker...just getting him outside to go potty would have been sufficient, but Kate does so much to enhance the socialization and structure he gets from group walks. After considering many different dog walking companies, we decided on Doggie Trail. The price is hard to beat, only $15 for a 30 minute walk and a great sense of relief that our highly energetic pup will make it through the work day. Kate came over to meet our dog, Rose, before starting their walk routine. The first day that she was going to take Rose out, Rose panicked and would not leave her cage. Kate called and told us what was going on and offered to come by later that day when we were home with Rose to reintroduce herself. Since then, Rose hasn't had any problem and absolutely adores her daily walks. Kate is wonderful, she leaves a note everyday with a summary of their walk. She often sends photos and updates from the walks. She doesn't mind any change of schedule and is fine with late cancellations. She is also great for different collar/walk training advice. I am a rare Yelp reviewer but I felt like I really needed to take a moment to call out Kate and her dog walking crew. They have walked my dog for several months now. They have never missed a date or been late. They always leave a note about the walk. (Did the pup poop/pee etc) The communication is seamless with the ability to change plans at the last minute. Really excellent and priced fairly. The ease of mind knowing your pup is in good hands is priceless. I have also had my pup board with Kate and it was so great! She sent loads of videos and photos every day! He boarded in her house and there were other dogs for my pup to play with and a great backyard for them to play in. I cannot say enough good things about Kate and her operation. Not only is she a great, flexible dog walker, but she is also an amazing person. The first time she walked our 2-year old doggie, he had just had diarrhea in his crate and some of it had gotten onto our carpet. Kate took doggie out and also tried to do everything she could to clean up the mess. Another time, I had locked myself out of my apartment and the only set of spare keys that I could think of was with Kate, so I texted her to see if she was within walking distance so that I could pick them up. Without hesitation, she told me that she was a 20 minute drive away but that she would leave right away and be here shortly to let me in -- and this was on a Saturday morning, IN A SNOWSTORM. Talk about incredible. Needless to say, I trust her 100% with my dog. Additionally, there is no requirement to have a certain amount of walks, which is nice. My partner and I are usually able to walk doggie, but once in a while one of us is out of town and we need some extra help. This averages out to about just 1 walk every 3 or so months, and Kate is totally fine with that; we can text her within the week to let her know that he'll need a walk and she's always been able to fit us in. In a nutshell: this is the best dog walking company around. Kate and all the walkers are very responsive, friendly, responsible and compassionate. I hope you are lucky enough to get their services. Long story: we tried 2 other dog walkers and were not happy with them for several reasons. Our dog ran away from the pack a few times and we got phone calls from strangers who found her. We found Kate who then met us and our dog Zuma. Zuma was never really trilled with the other walkers. When Kate or her walkers came to the door, Zuma would run to greet them. Always happy to see them. Zuma got sick and we needed to put the walks on hold. After a while we resumed the walks and Kate was extremely flexible. Later on in her illness she lost her sight. Kate came over on her day off to check in and to see how Zuma would walk blind. It was amazing how easily Kate handled her. When we put Zuma down Kate and Elle both sent cards expressing their sorrow. We can't thank all of them enough for their service and the peace of mind we felt leaving Zuma with them everyday. 100 stars! read more

I just started using Doggie Trail, and I am really happy with them. My dog loves Kate. He's a big pup who needs lots of exercise, so the 1.5 hr hikes she offers are really necessary for him. I especially appreciate the note she leaves at the end of each walk telling me about his time. I can tell she really cares and he's in good hands. Kate is a godsend! She has been walking our two shih-tzus for more than 2 years now and we can't say enough great things about her! In fact, we decided to continue to live in Cambridge area (as opposed to moving to the city) because of her. Kate (and her dogs Sage and Duke) are the best. She has been walking our boston terrier since she was 10 weeks old. We credit her with our dog's great social skills with people and dogs since Kate always brings her older dogs on walks to show our dog how it's done. We have boarded our dog with Kate many times and credit these visits with speeding up potty training! I'm not the most organized person, so it's very helpful for me that Kate is OK with last minute changes and requests, and is super responsive with texts and emails. Kate is the absolute BEST!!! I have had several walkers/sitters over the course of the 7 years I've lived in Boston and Cambridge, and Kate/Doggie Trail is by far the BEST! My dog Molly is a 10 yo, 12lb peke-a-poo, she is very friendly and sociable with people and other dogs - so she's not a lot of work in my opinion. Regardless, my regular walker, Alicia, is FABU!!! Molly gets a daily walk, for 30 minutes, M-F. For EVERY walk Alicia leaves a detailed note - she states where they went in the neighborhood, what 'business' Molly did, and the time at which she picked up and dropped off Molly. Additionally, Kate has also been a lifesaver when I get stuck at work late, or if I think I'm going to be away longer than I think healthy for my dog. Kate is always at the ready for an emergency walk, evenings and weekends! On top of all of this Kate's rates are really unbeatable in Cambridge. We wanted to give Doggie Trial ten stars! We had a Christmas emergency and had to go out of town on very short notice. Stephen called us back immediately and he and Kate came over to meet us and our two dogs and cat a couple days before we left. They were entirely professional, very caring and friendly and took notes. The dogs were immediately in love with Kate who is clearly a Dog Magnet. While we were gone, Kate send us texts and cute photos of our cat at home and our dogs happily ensconced as part of Kate's family. They picked up and delivered our dogs to our home and the dogs were sad to see them leave.The prices they charged were unbelievably reasonable! What more could we have asked for? The only way I could imagine the services could be improved for us is if they lived next door! We hope this was the first of many great experiences we get to have with Doggie Trails! read more

Kate is great! She came to meet Ajax and was really sweet and reassuring with him. He can be a bit shy at first. When she walks him, she runs along with him so he gets lots of exercise. She always texts when she brings him back, so we know he has been well-taken care of.
