Do not bring your dog here if you have a Westy! I dropped him off and said he needed a bath and a trim just to shape him up. When I picked him up he had been shaved so closely that I had to limit his walks for fear he would get sunburned. Worst grooming I have ever seen on my Westy. I made my 2 miniature poodle grooming appointments 5 weeks prior to appointment. I called the day before to confirm. She said ohhh yea what time was your appointment ? I told her 10am. At the scheduled time we arrived. We were told only 5 dogs that day and she would call a half hour before they were ready. Possibly in 4 hours. She called me at noon and said they had over booked and would be 5pm before our girls were ready. She then called at 3 pm and said... broken razor, overbooked and the groomer would be out from 5-6:30 for a "meeting" and the girls would be ready at 8pm She asked if she could give them a bath? Needles to say, I picked them up ASAP. My Sugar & Cookie were in a cage in the hot sun in the window. We saw them when we walked to the door. They were sooooo thirsty when they got home and needed to pee. What kind of human would do that to 2 poodles? I definitely would not recommend this dog grooming business. I agree with the comment above. Unfortunately I didn't read this review beforehand. My dog ended up in a very similar way. I called to say I was on my way only to find that my appointment wasn't scheduled. And the woman on shift didn't know that I was coming or what to expect, but ensured me to bring him on in. I took my dog and dropped him off, the woman there told me that she'd call me when he was ready. I received a call less than two hours later. I walked in to see my dog almost scalped. What was supposed to be an easy wash and trim looked to be something horrible. He had spots where he was completely bald and places where he was barely touched. She told me she gave him an oatmeal bath yet he still smelled as he did before I dropped him off; a little bit worse actually. She kept asking, he looks good doesn't he? Doesn't he? At first I was very taken aback, as He's gotten many trims before but the results had never been like this. It wasn't until I got home and laid him down on the couch that I found his under belly had been snipped pretty badly. Stay as far away from this place as possible. It's a grooming service from hell that no pet nor his owner should experience. The worker there takes the customers for fools as she keeps treating peoples pets this way and finds it acceptable. Probably one of the worst experiences of our dog's little life. I was so shocked when I picked him up I couldn't even say anything - not only is his haircut hideous (choppy, with bald patches and all kinds of strange harsh lines!!!), but we think they bruised his anal glans!!! If we end up having to take him to the vet because a week later he's still uncomfortable and not moving like he should, we'll be bringing them the bill!!!! Took my beautiful 5 month old white mini schnauzer to be groomed. I've owned and raised schnauzers for over 30 years. I have never seen anyone cut off a schnauzers beard. That's what makes a schnauzer their beard and eyebrows. Thank God we asked them not to trim his eyebrows. His beard was nearly shaved off. His legs and skirt were shaved off as well. Today my husband and I went to Doggie Style for appointment at 10:00 for my Husky. As we walk in, the girl behind the counter (the assistant) looked very stressed and had no clue of what was going on. as we step in she said "close the door ! The air conditioning is getting out" ... can I like first walk in before you yell at me ? She asked us what we needed done on our dog and we told her only a shower and brush. She called the owner and advised her of what we needed and that she couldn't do it by herself since she already had 8 dogs to groom. Once she hangs up, she comes up to us and said "she said it will be $175..." they usually charge me $60! Why would it be so expensive ?? She said that we could leave the dog and then get to talk to the owner once our dog was done. Ah no... im not leaving my dog to get charge later that amount of money. While waiting for the owner to come, other customers starting pulling up. She asked us to lock the door for them not to come in. Totally unprofessional, we did not locked the door but opened it. She started to deny customers and told them to come back the next day. At 10:36 we told the assistant to contact the owner again to see how much longer for her to come in since we needed to do other stuff. All she said "I'm afraid she will get mad if I call her again" at the moment we didn't understand the reason why she would say that. 11:15 Owner finally shows up. As she comes in all you can smell is pure alcohol... you can see it also on her face. She walks in and tells me "Okay for the dog is $140" I asked her the reason why and she said " Well for cutting his hair is $140 as we talked last time"... I did not wanted to shave him at all. I told her that all we needed was grooming no cutting his hair and she flipped on her assistant "Why the fuck would you tell me that they wanted a hair cut when they just want a shower, you should've given her the phone so I could've spoken with her" she argued with her assistant. She is yelling at her over the counter while we are standing on a side. After a bit of her making a total scene in front of us I said " okay so it's gonna be $60? I really have to go and I've been waiting here since 10 am" this just made her flip at us... " I don't need the fucking attitude with you too" she said ... how unprofessional... if she even didn't have a little bit of Customer Service, how would she act when your pup moves a bit during a shower ? She just started coursing and giving us a very aggressive posture. She kept yelling at us to leave the place otherwise she would call the cops. Just as we are about to leave she tried swinging at me... I really wish I would've recorded since the beginning. As we are leaving she kept going at it and just made my husband even more pissed. Never coming again here, maybe I should've called the cops myself ... If I could give no stars I would. Crazy woman named Karla basically had my dog for 6 hrs and all she did was shave her to the skin! No "grooming" involved- just shaved her. She was drinking beer when I went to pick up my dog but she insisted it wasn't hers. Arrogant, rude and a hot mess describes this woman. She has no skills in running a business grooming dogs. We just relocated to Key West from Chicago and we needed a knowledgeable and skilled groomer for our sweet, mild tempered but furry English setter. The cut for the breed is specific but we also wanted our dog (Smudge) to have a pleasant experience because she needs grooming regularly. Glenn worked with us after another groomer in town refused to take our dog (translate: this other groomer didn't know what to do with an English setter and was pretty rude to us when we met!!). Not only was the cut spot on but our dog looked beautiful and was all wagging tails for the next grooming visit!! A sure sign that she had a good experience and trusted Glenn's gentle confident manner with her! Doggie Style was prompt, quick, very cost efficient, skilled and kind to the dogs! The earlier review is very misleading as this business has been under new ownership for over two years. I have been to basically all the dog groomers in town and had very mixed experiences. Since I found Glen at Doggie Style, I will go nowhere else. His prices are reasonable, his place is clean, and he gives dogs who are waiting the option to hang out in the backyard - so much nicer than a cage! It's rare to get both great service with a great price. The competitor next store charged twice as much for the same service. My dog is happy and so am I! read more

I have to admit after reading all the negative reviews I was afraid to take my 6 year old dog who has never been shaved before to any groomer, especially Doggie Style. I am glad, however, that I did not let the negative review sway my decision to take my dog Riley there. I was greeted promptly and in a friendly manner. They treated Riley like he was their own dog. Riley got a great haircut with no bloody patches or anything like that and he is much cooler now during and after his walks here in Key West. I also liked that they had an outdoor area where the dogs can play while they wait to be groomed rather than having them locked in cages all day. I took my 2 labradoodles for grooming. A horrible experience. I gave instructions onto how I wanted them groomed. There were 2 women there that told me it was going to cost $100 per dog. I said I never paid that much there before. They discounted one of my dogs. No postings of charges. They kept calling me and said they were having issues and postponed me picking them up. After 7 1/2 hours, they actually wanted me to bring them back the next day for finishing. My dogs were literally butchered. My one dog was shaved on his leg and was bleeding. It was as if a toddler had the clippers and randomly ran them across the dogs. I wish I could post pictures. My one dog will not leave his bed. I took all my 4 dogs there last spring. Yes it took all day for her to groom a dog. I just figured it was free doggie day care since they were not in a cage. I wanted them real short and she did what I wanted and well. she was real nice about it and the dogs seemed happy. She is a bit cheaper than the other groomers, She is just getting started so give her sometime. Everyone has to get experience. The cologne she put on the dogs smelled so nice and lasted for days. I am sooooo ANGRY!!! I took my 5 year old Lhasa Apso to these guys...I asked the guy if he knew how to cut the breed...he said he did. My dog has been to groomesr since she was 6 months...always good when at groomer. 4.5 hours later I go get my dog....and SHE IS BUTCHERED!!! Her head, face, body and legs were uneven, patchy and just BAD!!! I ad to bring her BACK to the shop due to the extent of the BUTCHERY!!! The guy tried to blame the CUT on her having FLEAS!!??!!WTF!! This was my favorite groomers in town, but only when the owner is there. The grumpy old man that works there is a real rude person. Almost local people like myself have jobs and stop by on the way to work or on the way back from work - otherwise how else could we afford a groomer. This guy tells me to make an appointment every time while their cages and back area are completely empty. I am a business owner in town and have little free time at all so when I can stop by it is in passing on other errands. The owner of this business should fire this guy, he is so bad for business and is rude as hell. I tipped them $60 on $70 last time and this is how this guy responds - I don't want them running around while I am grooming other dogs bring them back at 1pm. Do I look retired and likely that my entire day can revolve around when you have your next opening? Why does your front door say walk-ins welcome when this is not the case? I had almost the exact experience as Sarah. This was the only place in town that didn't have a waiting list and I figured I try it out. Took my dog in and the groomer said it would take 2-3 hours. Almost 5 hours later my dog was shaved to the skin and had red marks all over him. It looked horrible. Alos met someone else at the local dog park who took their dog there anf had the same thing done. The groomer did seem to treat the dogs nice but obviously needs more experience. read more

With this review I will provide a PERSONAL phone number and will be able to prove You personally a police statemement/complaint to stop THIS drunk and a scammer lady Carla from treating people like s***t and keeping money in return for NO service... I would never ever do this but it happened to my mom and Ilove my mom dearly. So this lady Carla (She is the owner) groomed our two dogs: a small chihuahua and poodle mix with her mommie, a black mini poodle. The poodle twice received a very short, shaved basically groom because itisn't about the looks in Key West but the heat! She charges $50.00 per doggie. Because my mom doesn't drive the lady offered a pick up and drop off. That being said my mom gave an extra $20.00 for gas per dog. So that is $40.00 in gas but when it comes to my moms babies, we want the best. To top it off... my mom each time gave an extra... $50.00 dollar tip per dog too!!! Believe me and we aren't rich! But my mom fears how the doggies will be treated etc. it was worth it to my mom's opinion. So each time $240.00 she gave the lady who picked them up and took them to the saloon a mile away only... (KW is only 4 by 2 sq. miles). Both times when she scheduled a return time she had been hours late... but ok maybe she was busy. This time... third time... Carla picks them up in the morning, and was going to have them ready at 1pm. At 1 pm she said 3pm... at 6 she wasn't returning phone calls! Ok finally had some of her friends drop them off... the poodle hadn't had a hair cut at all! But my mom gave the usual $240.00 to these two strangers/Carlas friends thinking maybe too busy, tomorrow we will call back and not start a war with a person caring for our babies-doggies. My mom went to the saloon in the next morning ( a friend drove her) and spoke to Carla (since she didn't answer the phone). Carla asked if my mom wanted money back because she had a bad day, had a argument with her husband etc. My mom said:" no just please cut her today, my husband will pick her up because You do such a great job other times, no problem) So even tho my mom paid for gas and these $50.00 tips the previous day my mom didn't care just wanted the dog to stop suffering in her fur coat!!! At six my dad brings the dog... untouched again. What is more... there was heineken bottles on the counters, it is no secret Miss Carla is a regular at the Corner Grocery Store and Amy's liquor store where local beer and party goers meet up to party, She buys her heineken beers at the Corner store two blocks away at lunch time because my ex boyfriend works there. And at this six o'clock she was just... drunk or s***t faced on whatever she was on. Well my dad wasn't happy what he saw when he brought the dog back to my mom but my mom wanted to give it the last shot. Carla said she will pick the black poodle up at 8 am the third day. Of course didn't show up and when my mom called she said she is busy with other dogs and it's too early for her... etc. Finally she said it was all my moms fault because my mom is too pushy and rude... what? My mom being the nicest person???? My mom was just sad... we cut the dog ourselves... we did go to the police though but were told we need a lawyer to get our money back and it's too small of an amount... etc. Carla told the cops she cut the dog but my mom didn't like it and it was my mom's fault. PLEASE check out thisplace at lunchtime or at six o'clock and see beers consumed there seeit for yourselves! Call us at (305) 896 75 89. Today I went to Doggy Style for the second time. My dog is a short hair and only needs a bath and nail clipping, The first time I went the shop was closed when I showed up for my appointment. I had to wait for the shop employee to arrive and get settled in. I know you can't expect for a dog business to be squeaky clean, but the place seemed very dirty. They kept my dog for a long time, Eventually I picked her up and everything was OK. The reason I'm writing this review is TODAY was a much better experience. The shop is under new management and Glen was very personable. They have a fenced in area out back that looked clean and safe for the dogs to play while they wait. I was told my services would take one hour and they called me exactly one hour later to tell me my dog was ready. All that, and the price was reasonable-less than I expected actually! I can't say much about the grooming except Glen's own dog was very nicely groomed! My rating is based on today's visit. read more

I did not read the review before I tried this place and I am glad I didn't. I called needing to get my dog groomed pretty quickly. They were able to take him the next morning. I was pleased with the job they did overall. There was one or two spots that we noticed after a couple of days that were a little uneven, but they were not noticeable until we were brushing him later. He is a big dog and although he is not too difficult, he is not one of the easiest dogs to groom. When I picked him up, he seemed calm and content. I liked that he was not in a cage the entire time. At other places when he is kept in a crate, he is so anxious by the end of the afternoon, it is difficult to calm him down. read more

My dog is very old, cant' see, can't hear and is not used to being groomed by anyone other than me. Due to my bad health I turned to Karla to help me. For as nice as the two men were toward me and my dog, I will not be bringing my dog back. As the previous reviews stated, I walked in and was surprised that I was given an appointment for the very next day. Previously, I contacted another groomer, who came highly recommended by a local, and here we are two weeks later and he still hasn't returned my call. My dog was in need of a haircut so I had to seek out another groomer. The first tip-off that maybe something wasn't right was when he did not ask me for my dog's proof of rabies and kennel cough vaccine. I have since learned that in the state of Florida, you can pretty much hang your shingle out and call yourself a dog groomer with NO TRAINING OR CERTIFICATION WHATSOEVER. I brought him in and was told it would be about 2 hours. Around the time he should have been finished, we decided to walk up to the "salon" to get him. We walked in and saw him in one of the crates and I thought to my self "wow, he's cut really short". Again, the two men were very nice and seemed to handle my dog very well.. It wasn't until I got home and really inspected my dog that I basically discovered his body had been shaved to the skin and his legs and head were practically untouched. He looks hideous. I could have done a finer job myself, which is what I'll be doing when we're in Key West for a good portion of the winter. read more

So, it's Key West and there aren't many options. My little bichon needed a hair cut really bad he was so fluffy and its been very hot..anyway after being disappointed at another groomer I decided to try doggie styles because of the price and they seemed to have a legitimate grooming business, solely dedicated to grooming dogs. I requested to have my dogs ears shaped like a standard bichon and apparently I was speaking a foreign language which would have been a clue that this wasnt going to go well. Secondly, it also looked like the groomer double booked because when I went in to drop my dog off another person was coming in behind me and said she had an appointment at the same time. Trusting that this person was a professional, I left my dog with them. I was told it would only take a couple of hours (which is typical) and they would call me when he was done. I proceeded to do some errands. After about 2 hours went by I figured any minute I'll get a call--no call. I continued to do another errand that took a little longer than I anticipated and I was expecting to see a missed call on my phone, but still after 4 hours of dropping my dog off at the groomers, no phone call. Worried that it was a weekend and they might close soon, I gave them a call. First, I asked if my dog was ready and the person asked which one, I gave my dogs name and the person asked me to describe it so I said the little white bichon (male) and the person said oh yes SHE's been ready for a while. I was slightly annoyed that there wasn't a phone call but I figured the person got busy and couldn't call. So I went to the store to pick my dog up. Sitting in the first kennel was another dog that was shaved straight down to the skin with its little freckles visibly apparent. At first I was afraid that it was my dog, thankfully it wasn't however when the groomer pulled my dog out of the kennel, he pretty much had the same hair cut except instead of the requested bichon cut, it was a hacked standard poodle doo. His belly was butcher straight to the pink skin with clumps of hair longer in certain areas, a poof ball on the top of his tail, a Brazilian strip on his neck, and goofy poofy ears that kind of make him look like a mix between the sloth from ice age and the crazy dog "killer" from all dogs go to heaven. Anyway, the groomer claimed my dog was completely matted which was absolutely false. It just takes a few minutes to wash and brush his fur. Anyway, I was upset that I actually paid money for this cut I could have done a better job at home with a cheap pair of trimmers that I got at petco. I strongly do not recommend going to this place--ever, even as a worst case, last resort. read more
