Alison was a perfect fit for our pup. She was flexible & accommodating for our short term, last minute boarding. Her place was comfortable, she was communicative & loving. Complete confidence. would definately utilize her service again. -WW read more

I am on a camping roadtrip with my two dogs and husband. I had a wedding to photograph where my husband was also invited. I started to panic because it was supposed to be really hot that day and we didn't have a good place for the dogs. I called so many places but none were still in business until I called Sustainable Pooch! We were able to drop our dogs off with Genie who watched our girls overnight. Usually the sitters stay where you are staying, but we are only in a camper so I was thrilled Genie could take our girls in. Our dogs loved her, and she sent a picture at the end of the night of them snuggling with her! I was thrilled to see this, because we were in a strange town and I may or may not have missed them already. ;) Definitely give them a call for any petsitting needs you have in Key West! read more

We had the opportunity to vacation in Key West in November, but would not have been able to see and do everything we wanted without the excellent service and care for our dog from Sustainable Pooch. Karen and Allison provided excellent care for Mulligan, allowing us to fully enjoy our time away from our little princess. We would highly recommend them and look forward to using their service in the future. read more

I highly recommend Alison & Sustainable Pooch! Our Aussie Shepherd can be a bit of a handful and she's great with him. I know that she exercises him well and spends quality time with him, and my dog LOVES her for it! When we travel I rest easy knowing she's taking care of him. She's even given us tips on how to work on his separation anxiety! read more

I had a bachelorette trip down in the Keys (Sept. 4-7, 2015) and was in a bind because I was flying back to St. Kitts on labor day out of MIA with my dog, Gander. I had called so many boarding facilities but they wouldn't let me pick up dog until later on that labor day, which would not work because my flight was at 11am. I contacted Alison only a few days before heading down to Key west and she was amazing. Since I was staying at a hotel that was not pet-friendly I needed someone to take him in and she was available to do so! She was very sweet and helpful about my situation! She sent me the paperwork right away and two days later I was dropping him off at her place. She was so sweet to him and made me feel very comfortable about leaving my dog with her. She truly loves animals and I would recommend anyone to use her! She took my dog on bike rides and play dates, he was so tired when I picked him up, it made me so happy to know he had a great time! Also she was very good at communicating and responded every time I texted her! She also kept me updated on how he was doing throughout the weekend. Anyone that needs a pet sitter, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using them. I couldn't be happier! It was so nice to have someone that was so willing to work with your needs instead of a kennel facility! read more

I would give Allison, the owner, 5 stars as she was helpful especially when I had issues. But I can only give 1 star for the dog sitter that was referred. Needed a dog sitter while on vacation in key west so I could be out all day with my family and not worry about my dog. My sitter was Kari Larson. Although she took my dog to the park, played with her and sent me photos, my dog came home dehydrated. Big issue was price. I understood the rate for a full day would be around $45 to maybe $75. I asked Kari her price and she said $20 to $25 so I thought I was getting a great deal for a couple of hours one evening and was pleased she would watch my dog late evening. I used Kari for four hours and on my return she informed me it would be $20 an hour. I paid $30 because I wasn't expecting an hourly rate and didn't have the other $50 on me but would pay her the difference. Then called Allison for another sitter. Could not find one for next day but Allison got Kari to agree to $100 for an 8 hour day. It was my 20th anniversary so I was stuck and had to agree and dropped off my dog around 10. I had to pay fee starting at 9:00 so really only got about 7 or so hours for my $100. Toward end of day, I asked Kari if I could pay an additional $30 for an extra hour and half at the end of the day so I could complete my scooter rental and she said fine but now I would owe $90 for the previous night. By that time I was very upset and just called it quits taking my rented scooters back early. In my hurry and frustration I fell and injured myself and was out for the rest of my vacation. Allison had found another person for the 3rd day and she was great and understanding. But by that time I was laid up with a leg injury and didn't need the sitter any more. Please use this company but be sure you nail down the price way ahead of time for your sitter and find another one if price is not acceptable. I would recommend this company remove Kari from there reference list as I don't know anyone who would willing pay $200 a day for dog sitting and ultimately it reflects back on sustainable pooch. That is more than the cost of an infant child care. I understand that the sitters are independent contractors and set their own prices but maybe should have some agreeable range established with referring company. Sorry Allison please understand the 1 star is not directed to you. By the way I paid every penny costing me $180 for less than 12 hours of dog sitting. read more
