His shaving is very aggressive - I didn't know you could get that much hair off a dog! - but it's what we asked him to do, albeit to a more extreme degree than many places do. I cannot praise Stephanie enough. This was my first time bringing my golden retriever Oona and I…read morewas a little nervous at first because she's my baby. From the moment I walked in, Stephanie greeted Oona as if she'd known her forever. I believe dogs can truly feel a person's energy and my dog immediately went to her with no hesitation. The salon was extremely clean and actually smelled good surprisingly. Steph explained to me the cut she thought would be best and we went with her recommendation. When I came back and saw Oona, she looked beautiful! I loved the cut. They mentioned to me that my baby had diarrhea and was vomiting throughout the visit , but I was extremely grateful that instead of being annoyed or shaming her, they genuinely cared about her and showed concern. Thankfully that all went away by the next day, and the vet thinks it was just nerves. Once again, this place was just wonderful from beginning to end. Steph is an all star! If you're thinking about bringing your fur baby here, do it! You truly won't regret it.

Jess at Best Friends Pet Grooming Salon is nothing short of MAGIC. I don't use that word lightly --…read morewhat she did for my Frenchie, Louie, honestly blew me away. Nail trims have always been a huge issue for us, especially at the vet. They would leave his nails too long, and over time the quick kept growing out, turning his nails into literal bear claws. It got to the point where I didn't think we'd ever get them back to a normal, healthy length. I originally found Jess for my labradoodle Mabel and just happen to ask her about my Louie's nails . Not only did she trim his nails as short as safely possible, she did it with incredible gentleness and patience. Louie was calm, comfortable, and completely at ease -- which NEVER happens. But what truly sets Jess apart is her knowledge and care. She's actively working on helping the vein recede over time so his nails can return to a normal length instead of those "eagle talons." Who even does that?! That level of attention, skill, and dedication is so rare. Jess doesn't just groom -- she genuinely cares about your dog's long-term health and comfort. I'm beyond grateful we found her. If you have a dog with difficult nails or any grooming challenges, Jess is the one. Truly one of a kind.

Nothing but EXCELLENT things to say about this wonderful groomer. When Joey returned my initial…read moreinquiry phone call, he walked me through a questionnaire to get a sense of both me as a parent as well as our pup. He clearly has decades of experience, and loves what he does with a sincere passion. He has a very clear routine that helps each pip feel right at home in his presence. He also talked me through the whole experience when I picked our girl up, just to let me know how it all went and how she felt about it. There is no doubt that Joey genuinely loves the "children" (as he warmly refers to the pups) that come in. The cut itself came out great. No knicks or scrapes, and the length is exactly what we had asked for. He also did a great job balancing out the tricky parts of the face and head (we have a Goldendoodle, so the mustache, beard and eye can be pretty particular). The cut is only 5 days old now and is growing in really nicely. This man is SPECIAL, guys. I am so relieved to have found a groomer I can trust so implicitly!

At my request, I met him before I entrusted him with my little girl, I later found out through other of his clients what an honorable business he runs, placing the needs of the kids (what he calls our four legged family members) ahead of the parents "wants". For example, he will not try to detangle a matted kid toca use pain to please the family. This is traumatizing and painful for the kids. As the old adage says "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". Thank you for keeping me on track of my baby's grooming. You have earned our family's trust.

I gave the owner/groomer explicit instructions that NO hair was to be cut, trimmed, clipped or shaved (ex between her paw pads). She violated these directives and made a mess of my dog''s coat. Her coat has been clipped short and unevenly; the long dense feathers on her belly and legs have been trimmed and thinned raggedly, and entirely cut away between her hind legs; she was given a rough blunt sanitary trim; there are blotchy areas that are chopped to less than 1/2"; her head and legs have been shaved, and her ears cut lopsidedly; and her long thick ruff is cut short and thinned. Ironically the hair between her paw pads was not touched; I told the owner this is the one area where she could be trimmed. She didn't even brush her out; she has been shedding all over my furniture. The owner denies she did anything more than bathe her (and says she has a video to prove it). This is simply not true; my dog's coat is proof enough (and I have taken photos to document it). I have consistently worked to preserve my dog's thick, full-bodied coat and dense, long feathers. The quality of her double coat has been compromised, as have the insulation and protection it offers. It will take months with careful, consistent grooming for it to return- I hope- to its natural state. If you want your dog's naturally lush double coat preserved, and your instructions followed with honest communication, avoid this business.
