She is truly experienced with "meeting" cats and dogs and allowed them to come to her, which made everyone comfortable. After meeting Jennifer, we felt our babies were in good hands. Jennifer is trustworthy, on time, cleans up after the pets, gives them lots of love and is respectful of our home preferences (not wearing shoes in the house.) She frequently communicated by sending pixs of the babies, easing our anxiety of leaving our babies with a new pet sitter. She was super accommodating to one of our kitties who hid under the bed, and served her meals there. She is especially fantastic with our dogs. She reinforces walking "manners," and rewards them with frequent treats for good behavior. We use her weekly now for dog walks. Our pets are like our "kids," to be able to have Jennifer in our lives to help us care for them when we go away or just to walk them while we are at work is truly a blessing! I interviewed Aaron 2 years for some dog walks while I'm at work and was very please with how he interacted with my babies. He's been amazing and I can tell he really cares about my dogs and their well-being. He is attentive and reports any changes in behavior so I can be on top of any changes in their health. Aaron always takes his time with my senior citizen and he will even carry my doxie if he's not doing too well. I've also boarded my dogs with Aaron when I travel and I know they are very well cared for. I get regular updates and pictures about how the boys are doing. Aaron has also helped me with water plants and bringing in packages when I've been on long trips. From time to time, I need to stay in the office late and he's always flexible to help me with extra walks with short notice when needed. Outstanding. I rescued a dog and he is great, except. Koda would bark at every dog while on walks…read more& hikes. And he would fence fight. It was so bad that walks were not fun, they were embarrassing. He'd see another dog and bark, jump around and look viscous. I tried another dog training company, but all they did was teach me how to feed treats to my dog. Zero progress was made, and I was discouraged. Then I found Joshua Kaplan. We began making progress on our first session. After two weeks, Koda was showing a 70% improvement! By six weeks, I called Koda "cured"! Koda and I can walk anywhere, anytime without him going crazy around other dogs. It is now a joy to walk my dog; much more fun. We are now 10 weeks in and even my wife can control Koda. About the fence fighting...before, he would bark and jump on the fence, scaring everyone including my neighbors. Now after ten weeks, Koda still wants to bark, but doesn't really...We are now at the point where he runs up and down the fence line whining, and just a little quiet squeak of a bark. We adopted our 5 month old GSD mix from a local rescue, and at the time she was fearful of everyone…read moreand everything. While we were comfortable training her the basics, such as sit, down, come, etc. on our own, we were looking for a dog trainer that understands her breed mix and to give us guidance on training her properly, because after all, it is the owners' responsibility to make sure their dog is well-behaved in public. We know there are many puppy obedience classes, but we knew with her shy personality that a group setting would not be comfortable for her. We happened to find Joshua on a Facebook page where other dog owners had recommended him. So, we called him up and discussed what we wanted to do with our dog. We wanted her to be great on recall, loose leash walking, and taking her downtown with us. He explained his training methods and made sure we understood what was needed for training. There was absolutely no pressure from Joshua on immediately starting. We had 5 sessions with Joshua but felt like we only needed 4. This is how good of a dog trainer he is. He got us to feel comfortable with letting our dog off leash in a wide open space during the second session. His methods on training recall are incredible and extremely effective. Never in my mind would I thought I would be able to let a puppy off leash that quick. We went downtown and had coffee while training our dog to sit next to us and be patient. Loose leash walking is still a work in progress but that was to be expected. Not only has Joshua taught us the knowledge in training our dog, but it has also helped our dog build her confidence and become her goofy, happy go lucky self. In just 3 months, we have complete trust in her being off leash and she loves meeting new people and making doggie friends. I could not be prouder of how far our dog has come in such a short amount of time, and we have Joshua to thank for that.

We are SO glad we found Out of the Bark!…read more We are first time dog parents, and when we first brought our baby home, we honestly had no idea what we were doing. She would constantly jump, bark, and bite our hands and feet, and she also struggled with severe separation anxiety. We loved her so much, but we were overwhelmed and didn't know how to properly meet her needs. Before finding Out of the Bark, we worked with another trainer who recommended spraying our puppy with water mixed with peppermint oil when she misbehaved. We tried it once, and although it stopped the behavior in that moment, seeing our puppy wet and scared made us feel horrible. It just didn't feel right to us, and honestly, it still haunts us to this day. We knew we needed to find a different trainer and a better approach. We reached out to a friend who fosters many dogs through Love & Second Chances, and the owner of the nonprofit recommended Out of the Bark. We are SO thankful she did! We started private training with Megha and also enrolled our puppy in her group classes. We just finished Pup 2 and immediately signed our baby up for Pup 3. We definitely plan to continue taking more classes as she grows because they have been incredibly beneficial, not only for our puppy, but for us as dog parents too. Megha is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. One of the biggest things she helped us understand was that some of the behaviors we were struggling with weren't because we had a "bad" puppy. We simply weren't meeting all of her needs because we didn't know how. Megha taught us so much about enrichment and recommended different foods, chews, toys, and activities that our puppy absolutely LOVES while also helping fulfill her needs. Pretty much every issue we've brought up to Megha, she has helped us navigate and given us practical training techniques to work on at home. We've been amazed by how quickly we've seen improvements. Our baby is now 5 months old and has stopped biting our feet! She has learned polite greetings, loose leash walking, simple commands, and so many other important skills. The difference from when we first brought her home is honestly night and day. Sometimes we're a little too soft with our baby, and Megha will tell us what we need to change too, which, as first time dog parents, is exactly what we need! Before embarking on our travels we contacted Growls N Meows. Joe came to our house to meet us, and our furry friends. Joe was very professional, yet comforting. We had to fill out paperwork, he needed to know about electrical and water shut offs so that in an emergency, our house was a safe place for them. We were shocked and impressed by the amount of effort Joe put into preparing to take care of our furry friends. During his daily visits with our pets, Joe went above and beyond what we asked. Joe would clean bowls, litter boxes, and exceeded our needs. Joe also would provide us with daily photos of our pets. As we embark on another travel journey, Joe has agreed to to check-in on our pets again. As it has been some time, Joe requested to meet with us again, and he was still very thorough. Joe met with our pets and Joe is ALWAYS good with our pets, even when they are anxious. Joe takes great care of our pets. You can see that Joe loves all animals.
