We had to have the vet records faxed as they were all (in the area) recovering from a bortadella (kennel cough) outbreak. We ended up leaving him a 3rd nite, as Harold said he was doing great and running all over the fenced areas. We asked for a bath before we picked him up and that was done, he was fine, glad to see us but seemed to do well with all the other dogs. I was very happy with the care he got, would definitely use them again.

Multiple fenced enclosures and unlike most other boarding facilities, they let the dogs out to run and play with each other. Our dog always comes home exhausted and happy. It is down a long dirt road and our dog has figured out what it means when we start driving down it. She couldn't be more excited to go back every time. They are often booked during holidays, so make sure to book in advance. Prices are very reasonable and the owners are very good and patient with the animals. My only complaint is the somewhat limited hours on Sundays. It makes pick ups and drop offs a bit more inconvenient since we're always coming from out of town. To the person who left a 1 star review with their dog covered in feces, we have never had any issues like this. Baths aren't included by default so if someone's dog likes to roll around in their own feces or gets stressed out in a kennel environment and goes to the bathroom in their kennel, then this is entirely possible, but nowhere near neglectful. Our dog has come home dirty and smelly a few times, but we take her there year-round and this is the result of them playing with other dogs outside in the dirt and mud. It can't be avoided and I prefer the setup they have. I do believe they offer baths, but I'm not certain.

The last time we picked up our dog she said her format is changing but she will keep boarding our dog. Out of the blue she contacted us and told us that she would no longer take care of our dog. But I asked what was available and we would possibly reocnsider. She acted vague and dismissive and when I suggested specific dates which I said were tentative until we finalized our plans, she dropped us as clients. So much for client appreciation. Not sure why she behaved this way but I will let everyone I know what happened. Very disappointed in this very unprofessional behavior by someone we trusted and valued for over 3 years.

We told her he sleeps in a crate and that if he is getting too active he should be put in the crate as that was part of the training method we were using. She insisted that she didn't want to bring the crate with her. Luckily, it worked out fine. Fast forward less than two months to Feb and we planned a 4 day weekend out of town. We booked it over a month in advance. In that time our puppy grew into what the trainer calls "teen attitude" as he was nearing full sexual development. He was way more excitable and testing boundaries with training. The day before we planned to leave, my child got sick so we decided to stay home. I didn't want to be a jerk and cancel the booking at the last minute. Irene thanked me for that. After picking him up at 10 am on Friday suddenly at 1:30 the next day she calls me and says she is bringing the dog back because he's barking, scratching at the door and playing too rough with the other dog she is watching at the same time. She had told me there would be another dog with him but she did not have the dogs meet each other first to see if they got along. I have no doubt my pup was barking and scratching and jumping on the other dog. HE'S A PUPPY! But she knew he was a puppy and chose to also take care of an older dog with back problems at the same time. She also chose not use a crate. We are working with a trainer who says we have to keep a harness and leash on him all the time and he spends time in the crate every day to help him chill out. But she refused to use the methods we were using to control his behavior. After her call saying she would be bringing him back in a couple hours, I left the house briefly and came back to find my pup in his crate with a note that said we owed her $90. Her rate was $40 a day at Christmas and now it was suddenly $45 with no warning or explanation. We had to pay for 2 full days when it had been a little over 24 hours.... and SHE chose to end it early! When she came back to get her money she acted like it was a character flaw that our puppy was acting like a puppy. She took no responsibility for the fact that she chose to house him with an older dog he had never met before. She told me how she spent a lot of time doing agility training with him to calm him down. WTF? How does agility training help a puppy stop jumping and barking? When we put him in a crate and use the positive reinforcement methods from our trainer he calms down and is quiet within a couple minutes. But she didn't even want to hear that or try it, she just did it her way and then dropped him off when it didn't work. What if we had been in Canada like we planned? I shudder to think what she would have done with our puppy because he was acting like a puppy and she couldn't handle it. Would we have had to drop everything on our vacation and drive home? I realize that our pup was probably being a pain in the butt. She is supposed to be a professional; she should be able to plan for and handle standard puppy behavior or she shouldn't take puppies. She could have at least tried to manage it with the techniques we use. The way she handled the whole thing was obnoxious and unprofessional.

I almost hate to leave this review as Sheila and her great crew are already booked pretty solid,…read morebut I have to give them credit for the best job done to date on my two beloved lhasa-poo dogs. For the past two years I have been grooming the boys myself to save the money. It's been a fun learning experience and I definitely saved a bunch of cash but I found that having a professional groom them, at least once in a while, has other benefits. For starters, Sheila noticed that one of my dogs has a fungus in his ear. I had thought it was gone so her noticing this helped me get him back on track. I'm avoiding steroids and expensive veterinarian fees and using things like oil of oregano and dietary changes (NO SUGARS) instead. It's been working but I was hesitant to pull the hair out of his ear. Sheila did this and noticed that the fungus is still there and needs more attention. She short clipped them, as asked, and did a great job around their faces. For some reason in the past groomers have not really paid good attention to their faces and it was so nice to really see their little eyes again. She also took care of their anal glands, again, something I'm not able to do on my own. I really appreciated the way Sheila took her time with my dogs, noticed more than just their visual appearance and went over and beyond what most groomers would do, even though she clearly has a full load. And last, my dogs were unstressed and comfortable with her. She's a good lady and runs a great shop. Highly recommended. Thank you Sheila!

Best of all, my dogs have always LOVED her! A couple of times, one of my dogs did have an issue with impacted anal glands, as a previous reviewer stated. Yes, it was uncomfortable for my dog but, hell... No one else ( I've tried) even bothers to do that! Sheila does a complete and professional grooming.

I used Yelp to find a place to take her, and also used Google to locate somewhere in Sequim or PA. I was checked in quickly even though I had never been there before, they looked up the phone number of my regular vet in Washougal and called for vaccination and history info, and I was talking to a doctor in a few minutes. My puppy was fine, but I felt much better knowing that the wound was just a cut where there are a lot of blood vessels, so it bled a lot, but it wasn't serious. I was given some antimicrobial wipes to help keep the ear clean while it healed. She even answered an unrelated to the injury question I had about flea and tick prevention that will help me make a consumer decision in a month. The total bill was just under $70.
