Extreme vetting and report card system. I've heard many stories of stressed-out customers worried…read moreand not enjoying themselves when they drop off their dog. They worry about what grade their dog will score on the "report card." My little Bichon didn't make the cut. She was a puppy and didn't have a nap before her 3rd interview (3 interviews?) It just strikes me as odd, that a full grown human being that works there, standing in a bin with 3 or 4 dogs could not handle a playful pup. I was called within 15 minutes to pick her up. I find it so odd that it's funny. People laugh. The veterinarian laughed! However, what disturbs me most to this day, when they handed her over to me, she was dripping wet and shaking. They must have kept her out in the rain until I got there. Anyway, they said I could bring her back when she's older. No, I think not.

We are VERY particular about where we leave our dogs when we travel. The couple who owns and operates this place is from New York and they have a real love for dogs and a special understanding of how to create a safe, fun and harmonious environment for groups of dogs. In essence it's like a dog park but with a large staff making sure every one plays nice and has a good time. We have left our boys there twice now, the first time for a few days and the second for 16. Both times they have come home tired and happy and pretty stress free. The second time we took them they couldn't wait to get out of the car and go play - it was clear that they have good associations with Dog Townsend and that's what I like to see when I am entrusting them to someone else. In addition to structured play times they offer special little services, like massages and dedicated fetch sessions and nature walks. They'll also clean Fido up if you order the shampoo service. This is helpful! I also love the little daily reports that they fill out so you get a sense of what your little guys have been up to. The staff is across the board nice, warm and truly interested in the dogs. Nice feeling there. Beautiful flock of exotic chickens running around, too. My dogs love watching them. Place is very clean and the play space is a large covered outdoor area that they separate into different playgrounds. They group dogs according to "play tastes". Smaller dogs can be grouped together and over time they figure out who plays well with whom. It's a healthy and fun environment for all the dogs. And the place is just really beautiful. Really a great option for people who love their dogs.

Cindy has watched our dog, Rampage about 3-4 times now when we go away on vacation…read more Let me ask you something. Why would you put your dog at a kennel type place if you have or had this option. My dog is practically like family to Cindy now. It's honestly invaluable what she provides. My dog is never in a crate, and gets to hang with Cindy and her family, go out back and check out the chickens and other animals, he's not locked up in a cage for 20 of 24 hours a day. I get the overnight kennel places probably not having the man power to pay one on one attention to those dogs, but it's just that your dog is going from free reign of your own home to being in a kennel for hours at a time. It's a huge adjustment and difference. With Cindy, they're going from your home, to a home. She gives you updates too on how your dog is doing and sometimes even sends off photos too. I recommend Cindy to any & everyone who's in need for a dog sitter.

My little cat Murray was in the hospital, very sick, and needed to be transferred from her vet in Lodi to a specialist vet in Sacramento. I was tied up with a work crisis but Murray needed to get to Sacramento. After a frantic search on Yelp, I found Cindy and she dropped everything, on a Saturday afternoon, and drove from Manteca to pick up Murray in Lodi and take her to Sacramento. Cindy even stayed in Sacramento for several hours until I could get there. Cindy made it possible for my beloved Murray to get the best medical care and I am forever grateful. She sent me a video of Murray, which I cherish. Thank you, Cindy, your kindness, generosity of spirit and integrity are treasures; thank you for caring about my Murray as if she were your own.
