A wonderful experience! Brought my dog in for training- we've had issues with jumping and leash pulling, and I have never experienced such a professional team! Not only did they make us both immediately feel at ease, helping me get everything set up enabled me to know I was immediately making the right decision with this place. read more

took all 3 puppy classes (kindergarten, elementary, and high school) with our mini bernedoodle, Bonnie. Jadyn is a wonderful instructor and we had a great time in her classes. She explains everything really well, always has time for questions and shares personal stories to help understand the hows and/or whys to different exercises. We have trained several dogs over the years and were amazed at all the new information and training tips provided. I love the amount of focus they place on properly socializing your dog as well as building a mentally balanced/sound dog. We have plans for a Clyde next year and will definitely be signing him up for classes as well. read more

if your looking for positive training for your dog there is no better place than Dog Gone. Destiny was am amazing trainer who truly loves her animals and is passionate about her job. Dave filled in one class and is so knowledgeable about dog training. We did not want discipline based training and this class is 100% positive based training. If you're looking for training I 100% recommend Dog Gone Problems. read more

She was nice! But paying what I paid and not having one session outside was frustrating. That's where most of my issues lied and this was discussed in our first session. I stated that walking him was stressful. To go over ways and things to do in my apartment, but not being able to actually utilize them when he's having the behavior isn't training. Before deciding to go down this path, I would go to TikTok and search there. Everything that she showed me to do in my apartment was all on TikTok. I could've saved myself a chunk of change. read more

Working with David was an absolute pleasure. We saw an immediate improvement in our dogs behavior after just 1 session. David does a great job of explaining how various training tactics work and what your dog will respond best to. He is so knowledgeable and genuinely cares about your dog!! read more

Six months after adopting our "Bassador" 5 year old Jett, we needed help working with him on his aggressive barking at all other dogs and some people. Just 5 sessions with Christina changed our lives! We learned how to reward non-barking and non-interest in other dogs and people when out for a walk, managing the leash when he pulls, and preparation for entering and exiting the elevator of our condo building. Jett is happier and we are delighted. Christina gave us great incite into some of Jett's issues and I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone in the Omaha area. read more

My dog Suki was having some problems adjusting after we brought her home from the shelter. She was nipping me pretty hard and since she's a Boxer, I had the bruises to show for it. I was worried we wouldn't be able to keep her. So anyway, I called Dog Gone Problems and Anna came over to help. She was very professional and Suki took to her very quickly. She showed us some impulse control exercises. I have to admit, I didn't expect it to help, but it did. Suki is no longer a nipper. Relationship saved! read more

We started working with Dog Gone Problems when our now, 1.5yr old Rex was a puppy. Rex loved learning and was great at puppy social time. The training we received was great! It went well beyond sit, stay, comes. We are fosters for dogs looking for new homes. Rex isn't the best at sharing. We called Dog Gone Problems for a deep dive in training and fixing some problems. Dave came to our house and went over EVERY issue we were having with our resident pups and our current foster Opie. Once we started implementing everything Dave went over with us, the pack has been much happier. The only bad thing about Dave is his brain goes 90 miles an hour and it's hard to keep up with all the great info. Thank god he did a roadmap to success video for us! read more

My dog poppy and I had the greatest experience with Christina! We learned so much together and can't wait to keep practicing what we learned

David definitely spent alot of time with us, over 4 hours! However my pup "accepted" him only because she was exhausted, not because they bonded or she learned to behave. He didn't teach us any skills that we weren't doing already. (Wait at door, wait for food, have strangers ignore her and drop treats etc) I went back and rewatched the videos he made and realize he just wanted her calm so he could show off. Even in the video there's no description of what he did to help her or what I should do in the future. For $300 it would have been nice to at least get a paper of recommended training tips I also thought it odd that he would curse and bad mouth other trainers. I'm of the opinion that every dog is different so you find what works for that individual dog and the more tools and skills you have, the better. His opinion was he has the only way that works. I think for the average dog with issues, he's a fabulous resource. However if your dog has advanced issues, nothing will change. The problem is most people can't tell which their dog has! read more

My dog gained so much confidence and good manners it was such a fabulous positive way to train your dog. My in home sessions were amazing.

A long overdo review, but many thanks to Laura for her expertise and kindness in her one on one training with my pup, Herbie...she offered some really great training tips but also, showed great care, compassion and reassurance that my pup's issues could be resolved. I also appreciate that David was very accommodating in terms of ensuring that masks would be required during our training class. In a time when the subject is such a sensitive one, I appreciate that he took those precautions which allowed me to attend class, safely. Thanks so much to you both for a great experience! read more

We have been having issues with Tank running the fence, lunging at people on walks, possible child aggression (haven't allowed the opportunity to confirm that ) so we hired Dog Gone Problems to come to our home for help. I honestly was expecting David to tell me he was too far gone, needing to be sent away for extreme training, good luck, but sorry I can't help. Well, that is not what the case was at all. The example in this video (link below) of "focus" is one of the few things we have been working on, but now Tank doesn't even look away. He's constantly staring at us waiting for a treat. We are establishing rules inside our home that have benefited his outside behavior and I'm thrilled to report that his fence aggression on one side of the yard has nearly stopped. (he still does not like seeing the neighbor 1 year old being tossed up by her daddy while playing, but I don't know if that is out of protection for her or if he thinks she is a toy, not ready to go there yet ) One of the other issues we have is that Tank is much larger and stronger than I am and I was not comfortable walking him alone for exercise while my husband is at work, but he is young and full of energy! David gave me exercises that I can do with Tank at home alone and that saying "A tired dog is a good dog"... TRUE! I could go on and on about the benefits we have gained in our home, but I will leave you with this, if you love your dogs and you need help... call them. 100% recommend David! https://www.doggoneproblems.com/tank-zeus-focus-on-command/ read more

I would highly recommend David with Dog Gone Problems to anyone looking for a little, or a lot of help with their dog. I hired David to help me get my dog comfortable with other people putting her leash/harness on her, as she is only trusting with me to do that, which makes it impossible for me to leave her with someone if I want to go on vacation. David went above and beyond in making sure I had all the information and tools needed to help us with this and throughout our session, uncovered other nuances that he was also able to help us with. Saucy (my dog) was very comfortable with him, as was I during our session and Saucy already showed improvement and understanding to the tips/tricks that David was showing us, even just during the session. The biggest thing for me was that he is all about POSITIVE reinforcement and does not use any force or scare tactics that some other trainers use. What made this even more valuable, is the genuine care and attention that David showed from first contacting him, (he was more than willing to answer all of my questions on the phone before booking him) to the actual session itself (already proving that his techniques work) and after the session (he followed up multiple times to check in and see how Saucy was doing and how her progress was going.) David with Dog Gone Problems absolutely stands out from the rest of the trainers or behaviorists I've looked into, so much so that our 3 hour session that I booked, turned in to an almost 6 hour session just because he was so willing to answer every question, explain everything thoroughly and was so patient with Saucy. What made this even more amazing, is that he did not charge me more for the extra time that he spent with us and seemed genuinely happy to help. If you're looking for a dog behaviorist/trainer, don't think twice, book David with Dog Gone Problems! You won't regret it! read more

My dog Cooper and I recently worked with Christina on loose-leash walking and barking. She is a very knowledgeable trainer and showed us some great tips. Her enthusiasm and love for dogs showed through, and he loved working with her! We have a good foundation to build on now, I highly recommend them! read more

Excellent trainers all around and a pleasure to work with. When my very young pup was intimidated by the bigger kids in class, they worked with me to find a different class of pups her size. And best of all, they're excellent at training us *owners* -- not just with live classes, but e-mail and videos accessible 24/7 when one needs to review the details and see how an exercise is done. Highly recommend! read more

Great information on the website, and on youtube put out by them. You can tell David really knows dogs. I check back now and then to just learn more. They also do training classes a couple of times a year in Elmwood park. It is nice to see a company not only care about making money but making dogs and owners happy. I plan on making an appointment for training when my pup gets a little older. Good Job Dog Gone Problems! read more

We attended one of the 10th anniversary Dog Gone Problems (DGP) Omaha seminars and won a drawing for 3 free sessions. We had been having behavior issues with our 2 large dogs and we're in desperate need of training. It was common issues like anxiety, jumping on guests, barking at people passing by our house, counter surfing, and fear of steps. We made a list before the 1st session and gave it to them. The owner David C. came to our home with two of his apprentices. They arrived promptly. They were respectful of our home and pets. They took video to use as training lessons for others. They also made a video for us as a recap of the session. DGP does NOT use punishment, shock or prong collars, etc. All training is very positive and they give a lot of treats. Much of their approach seems to be desensitization, redirecting the dog's attention, and teaching your dog what you expect them to do when X happens. David shares his knowledge on how to read the dog's body language. They watch your dog for stress and will not force the dog to do a behavior. My one dog has anxiety and was stressed after training and she ran under the table to hide. He respected her comfort level and let her go. He continued talking and just explained a lesson or used our other dog. He stresses dogs having physical and mental exercise. Having a well behaved dog makes life less stressful for the dogs and humans. DGP seems as much about teaching the dog parents (guardians) as it is teaching the dogs. David and his crew pack a lot into one session. They came prepared and did not waste time. On occasion, they would use dog training jargon but would explain what they meant if asked. Each week, we would have "homework". Dog training requires daily repetitions a for a few minutes on each skill. DGP will give you the skills to teach your dog. You must be committed to working with your dog and exercising them. A tired dog is a good dog. It has been 1 month now. We have already seen huge improvements. We plan on having DGP back for a few more sessions. All of their staff seems knowledgeable and polite. They respond to emails, phone calls, and text. They have a good presence on social media and multiple videos on YouTube. I would definitely recommend Dog Gone Problems read more

We had a session with David to help with our two dogs. In looking at many trainers in the area, I picked Dog Gone Problems because they offer a positive training experience without e-collars or other equipment. The session gave us so much information about how to work with our dogs on each of their issues. David left us with a plan for building confidence and structure that we've seen lots of improvements with in the week since our session. I appreciate that David is available for follow-up information by text or phone call at any time after the session and he encourages you to follow up whenever needed. read more

David is VERY knowledgable and has a friendly, easy going personality. We hired him for a 3 hour training session at our home. My dog and I are working together SO MUCH BETTER. The techniques he gave us really work! He was full of suggestions on solving the problems we had with our dog. What's really exceptional is the follow-up support he provides. We can email or call with additional questions after the 3-hour training session. Obviously, we covered ALOT during that 3 hours but little questions came up later and he was quick to respond. read more

I can't seem to get my response to David's response to my post to post so I will start again. Out of respect I was not going to list the numerous problems but the owners bullish behavior was one, the companies inability to communicate was another, their inability to accurately assess a puppy was another. I chose to not take the last phone call from the owner because of how I was treated for thirty minutes on a previous call. I did not ask for the fee that you say people receive if they show up and the other dog doesn't. You made plenty of money off of us. Our puppy is doing great, never was afraid of people nor other dogs - timid the first time out? Yes. Our dog does not need to be saved. I stand behind what I said about there being better trainers out there. read more

The trainers were fine. I was not thrilled with general communication. I said I was "disappointed with the communication." The owner became irate about this and yelled at me on the phone the only time I ever spoke with him. I had to use my work "therapy" voice to try to calm him down. It didn't work and eventually I had to hang up to discontinue being berated. I was shaking when I got off the phone. He may understand dog psychology, but I have spoken to criminals in my professional life who have better interpersonal skills and show more personal restraint dealing with people who disagree with them. His employees are fine, but he needs anger management. Go anywhere else. read more

We reached out to Dog Gone Problems desperately needing help with our dogs behavior. We booked our appointment and had about a month waiting period which we expected due to the success and popularity of the service. We were very anxious and excited to work with David and watched countless video sessions of his while we waited. A few hours before our appointment time I received a call from the office saying our appointment accidentally got double booked and that David would be on his way sooner than expected. I thankfully was able to get ahold of my spouse so he could get off work early to make it to the appointment. Our main concerns were aggression and him being territorial. The majority of the appointment was dog training tips and energy burning games (which we had already been working on since watching David's videos). We felt like he was not taking the time to let us explain and even demonstrate the issues. Once the session was done due to him being double booked and needing to leave, we were told we'd have to book a second session due to the number of needs we had. The only time we heard back from the office was not to schedule a follow up but instead was to make sure we would submit a review online. We'd do anything for our pup and are happy we did the session along with other training programs. Yes, we did a LOT of homework on how to help our dog and maybe our expectations were too high, but we got more out of watching his videos than our actual appointment and felt like our money went nowhere. I'm so happy when I read all of these amazing success stories and i do think this is a great service, it just didn't work out for us. read more

Dave came out and worked with us and our dog Scooby last fall. Scooby was being overly protective of us and showed aggression when anyone came over. We had taken Scooby to a training class before but it was nice to have someone actually come to our house and observe him in his normal environment. Dave spent over four hours with us really getting back to basics and explaining that we needed to change a lot of our own behaviors in order to get Scooby to that next level of respecting us and knowing that we were in charge. We implemented everything he showed us and we noticed a change in his listening skills slowly but surely. It certainly didn't happen overnight and we still have some work to do, but we are much more confident than we were. We also had some issues with walking Scooby and the collar that Dave recommended has worked wonders. We are still taking Scooby to additional training classes through the Humane Society to get him more socialized but we got a great foundation with Dog Gone Problems. read more

Wow! Our session with David was incredibly informative, interesting and best of all, effective. He showed us how to communicate with our dogs in their language so that they understood the rules of the house. Basically our interactions with our two terriers started changing immediately. We now have the tools and understanding to help our dogs become good canine citizens. Since our session with David two days ago we have been able to dramatically change the dynamic at the front door when guests arrive and when we take the dogs on walks. Previously they would bark and crowd the door and jump up on visitors as they entered. On walks they would pull on the leash. Both of those situations were stressful for all of us. Now the dogs are much calmer and everyone is more relaxed. I would highly recommend working with David- he is great. read more

Our session with David was most helpful! Our shih tzu mix was the boss of our house and very protective of our toddler. David helped us communicate with Monty, and after only a few days we are seeing improvement. David is awesome! Our rescue had a negative interaction with an extended family member and could not be in the same room as them due to aggression. It was super frustrating as it was my Mom! David came to our home and taught us tons and tons of information about the way dogs communicate and how we can best interact with them. He also taught us day to day things about walking on a leash and ways to stimulate our dog so he doesn't get bored. Highly recommend using his company! read more

David came over to help our Coton get over some of his protectiveness of us. It was a very informative and interesting process to observe. David took control of the situation right away and helped me be more assertive in controlling my dog. I've used the techniques he showed me and they've been helpful so far, just have a lot more training to do. Next time I would bring David in at puppy stage right away instead of 7 years later! read more
