Rated 3P* Used Dodge to move three rooms of furniture from one location to be placed into long term storage. Was given a quote that originally included packing, which we didn't need. Requested that the quote be updated and Beth modified it without hesitation. Also, they requested we move the date to Monday from Saturday. The cost would have been more due to their workers having to be paid overtime rates on Saturday. Three Ps and 5 Yelp stars. They were polite, professional and prompt. An absolute disaster of a move. Ended up costing me thousands of extra dollars to correct their mistakes. Mayflower and United were no help and while the team tried to respond quickly once the move was finished, a month later I am still cleaning up their mess. Oh and they'll keep charging your credit card for random things with no explanation. Avoid at all costs. read more

I hired Mayflower moving company to get me from St. Louis to Los Angeles. Dodge was the local movers who showed up to pack up my stuff. The two men who showed up were probably the slowest human beings I've ever seen... especially for two guys who do this for a living. I took the morning off work, not expecting to have to stay too long while the loaded my boxes and furniture. I was told the movers would show up anywhere from 8:00 am - 9:30 am. They showed up a little after 9:30 am, and I asked how long they think it would take. My move was small - 1 BR apartment sized. They told me "Maybe a couple hours?" 11:30 am comes around and nothing has yet been moved out of my apartment. The guy inventorying everything certainly took his sweet time in labeling everything. Around noon, I realized that the two men had disappeared for a good 20 minutes and I was getting concerned. I missed the entire morning of work and expected this to be over by now, but none of my stuff had been moved out yet. I went downstairs to the truck and saw that they had been taking periodic smoke breaks, and that's why they'd disappear for 20 minutes at a time. I let the guys know that I was in a rush and thought that they'd be done by now, and I had to get back to work. They did start moving their butts a little faster after that, and wrapped up around 2pm. They decided it would be best if they got everything out of my apartment into the lobby, let me sign the papers, and go to work while they loaded everything on to the truck. Having almost missed an entire day of work, I agreed and signed the papers. When I got back home that night, I realized they had forgotten multiple items. Two bikes that were left downstairs for them weren't taken, and they left a lamp as well. The tardiness, slow moving, and carelessness really disappointed me. My experience with Allied moving company, who moved me to St. Louis just a year before, was phenomenal. The two guys that showed up packed everything for me (this time I pre-packed) and loaded my 2 BR only took 2 hours. Why did this experience take ALL day? And now I'm left with some large items that I'll have to donate or throw out because the movers forgot to take them. read more

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! During 20-years of military moves, we've had considerable experience with the moving process and various companies. Dodge Moving & Storage is the only bad experience we've ever had. It began with the packers. With a three-day window to pack and a planned team of 4-6 per day, instead only two packers showed, working 3-4 hours a day during the 3-day window. During multiple calls to the Dodge Moving & Storage call center, instead of a professional response showing concern and a genuine effort to facilitate missing packing equipment and supporting the transitional process between the packers and movers, instead a blatant laissez faire attitude was exhibited with zero follow through. Come moving day, the moving team arrived to a house that was only 2/3 of the way packed. They were frustrated and took their frustration out on our household goods by not wrapping and properly packing, and instead throwing one-of-a-kind or custom items randomly in boxes and on the truck. Even the identified high-value items were neglected and ended up receiving extensive damage. Additionally, in the movers haste and anger, they packed the lightest boxes on the bottom while placing the heaviest on top for the multiple day transport. When our household goods were finally off loaded at the final destination, boxes were crushed flat, furniture was damaged and broken, framed artwork damaged, tv and appliances were destroyed. During 20-years and many moves, only one other move resulted in any damaged goods, in the quantity of two items, total. Additionally, that company offered a fair compensation for the repair. Thinking that fair compensation would be made/offered based upon the extensive damage and destruction of our goods, a total of 25-items during this move, the offered settlement was pennies on the dollar for the cost of what was destroyed and damaged. In short, we have to live with the disrespect to our belongings and be short changed, thanks to the unprofessionalism of the Dodge Moving & Storage team. AVOID AT ALL COST!!! read more

Every employee I've dealt with deserves a 5 star. Beth, my sales associate, still after 8 months is still as helpful as she was before I signed the agreement. The cost of my move was considerably lower than other companies I checked with. The guys that actually moved me were extremely friendly and professional. DO NOT USE. Very shady. They will try to take advantage of you. In my case, they gave me a bid and cost for 2 movers. They sent 3 (I was never asked nor given a quote what that would cost). While the move went faster, they tried to bill me for 3 movers. When I called them on it, they adjusted back to the 2 but then acted like they were doing me a favor for charging them what they quoted in the first place. They also took advantage of me by the movers having me initial their start/end times on a blank form that they filled in the times later. I have documented evidence that they did not start until 8:30am and also have my copy of the blank form but the movers marked their start time as 8am effectively charging me for a half hour I didn't use. If you do have to use them, keep a close eye on what they do as they will try to take advantage of you then act like they're doing you a favor. Barb, their employee, is really terrible at customer service as well. The movers were careful and nice. But it fell apart with the front office. read more

Any move is stressful and seeking help to reduce that burden is why you hire a moving company. However, the service that Dodge Moving and Storage provided only added to our stress. They moved dates on us continuously for pickup and drop-off. They gave their drivers the wrong address which lost five hours of move time. Because the wrong address was a narrower street, they thought they needed a smaller truck, which they had to make another trip to pick up. Our street was wide but since they already had the smaller truck, they kept using it which made them leave behind many items they were supposed to transport because they didn't have room. The reduced move time meant that they hurried in packing our items which led to damage. They were supposed to drop-off on a Friday but they moved the date to Monday which meant we slept in our apartment over a weekend with no furniture and borrowed towels from a friend. They were late in picking up our items and then again when they were delivering them. We were always working around their schedule. The manager in charge of our move always kept reassuring us that she would handle things whenever we brought up an issue. The issues were never resolved. Finally, trying to deal with their claims after the move was so contentious that we settled with the default amount that they countered with since we were tired of dealing with this company. read more

Dodge Moving sells a premium product, promising to handle your move flawlessly while you sit back and relax. Unfortunately, service fell far short of expectations. For the price Dodge Moving asked, I expected far more than what was delivered. On the positive side, every one of their staff members is a pleasure to talk to. They are friendly and polite. Also, their packers and movers are all professionals, having done this time and again. Unfortunately, Dodge Moving's processes and coordination leave much to be desired. Here are some examples: 1) Dodge does not coordinate hand-offs. Be prepared to repeat yourself to each person. 2) There is no chain of trust. Dodge personnel self-identify themselves to you to pick up your things. The way it should work is to have a central Dodge coordinator who tells you who is coming and when. Instead, a Dodge person shows up to pick up your things, and you have no choice but to trust that that person is from Dodge. 3) Dodge changes its schedules frequently, and this really affects your schedule. Dodge may come a day earlier than expected, a few hours earlier than expected, or a few hours later. They might call you to confirm an hour ahead of time and then call you again to confirm a different time. Your schedule will change at Dodge's whim. 4) Dodge is not proactive; it is passive. When you ask a question, they answer that question only. Dodge should provide you with an itinerary with everything that will happen and stick with that plan. Instead, you're left asking question after question. It's a waste of time for you, and a waste of time for Dodge. 5) Dodge has a set of rigid processes that its staff is trained on. If anyone misses a step (e.g. something unexpected happened), nobody knows what to do. 6) The processes are poorly designed. For example, Dodge wants to prove that you received every item that was packed. To do so, Dodge asks you to check off each box as it is unloaded from the truck at the destination location. Dodge numbers every box. However, Dodge does not have you sign off on each box as it is loaded onto the truck. Hence, Dodge asks you to spend time checking that every box in the truck was unloaded (which is kind of obvious when you see that the truck is empty), but this exercise has no real value because the list is not matched against a list of all the items that you loaded onto the truck in the first place. 7) Not all things will arrive in good condition. Dodge's insurance process is slow and has the symptom of making a bad situation worse because you need to wait for their adjuster before fixing anything broken, even if it is something that you need urgently. Dodge's structure and processes create an overall poor experience, despite Dodge's people being very professional and nice. In the end, Dodge is charging premium prices for a low to middle tier service. You can get a poor experience for much cheaper elsewhere. read more

I had an excellent experience with Mayflower and Dodge Moving and Storage. It was 0 degrees with the wind chill, and I lived on a third floor apartment. They still got me packed quickly and cleanly, despite how painfully cold it was. Every one of them was professional and polite and tough as nails. They carried all of my stuff down three flights of stairs with a frigid wind hitting them in the face, and still got finished quickly. Beth, who came to do the walkthrough, was able to guess the weight of my household items to within a hundred pounds. I had a great experience from start to finish. read more

I would like to thank Dodge Moving and Storage, as well as our driver (Kelvin) and our packing help (Red and Doug) for the extreme honesty and professionalism that was extended to us during our move from St. Louis Missouri to Charlotte North Carolina. In the frenzy of moving, we failed to remove and pack (on our own) four extremely value coins and our sentimental keepsakes; leaving these items to be packed and moved by Dodge Moving and Storage. We did not list them on the "high value" inventory list or even mention to our drive Kelvin that they were of importance. When our household items arrived in Charlotte, and these items did not appear to come off the truck, Kelvin took great care to inventory our entire (10,000 lb, 300+ box) shipment. When the items could not be located our move coordinator (McKenzie), her supervisor and the drivers dispatcher (Matt) began researching the missing box. At every step of the process I was reassured that this box would be found. Despite our fears that the worst had happen, Dodge Moving and Storage sent a second moving crew (based in Charlotte) to help us re-inventory our entire shipment, once again with the complete assurance that the box would be found. We watched as box after box was rechecked, and a half hour into the process, the missing box (one of 300+) was located with all the contents in place. All four coins, irreplaceable Disney memorabilia, family heirlooms from the early 1800... all was in the box. We can not begin to express our deep gratitude to Dodge Moving and Storage and all the individuals who moved and packed us. read more

IN 2013, Dodge Moving delivered items to our address in error that should have gone to other destinations. We called several times and were told they didn't have any trucks coming our way and that we would have to make arrangements ourselves to have the items delivered to the correct address and Dodge would reimburse us. I moved from St.Louis Missouri to San Antonio Texas 1 month ago and the two delivers in for Packers were amazing.. I have moved all over the country..95 times 15 states and now my parents and I even though we live separately we take Mayflower until we witnessed something where we will not take them.. it cost $2,900 to move from St Louis to San Antonio and the driver out here was a little iffy one of the days because there was a 13 day time frame and I couldn't be able to move in on the complete 13 days anytime they wanted to because I was moving to a brand new complex in a brand new apartment.. after a little talking and relaxing we both found a conclusion and I moved in . It was a great experience thank you... I was in a hotel in between the hotel dates and the brand new apartment opening date we had a little anxiety and we got over it and we moved in and nothing was broken and nothing was demolished in the residence.. read more

I have used Dodge Moving before, (years ago) and it has all been fine, but THIS move on September 20, 2017 was by far the best and easiest totally due to Dodge staff. First, Beth came out to give me an estimate ON LABOR DAY and she was timely, knowledgeable and very professional. She really knows exactly what she is doing. Then on 9/20/2017 the movers were simply great. Lee, CJ and I cannot remember the third man, but they did way more than I expected. My furniture is not new, but they wrapped everything and they were the fastest folks I ever saw. They were polite and knowledgeable and Lee really did a great job with the paperwork and keeping the flow going. They actually got done an HOUR early and Dodge immediately credited my credit card the next day. Also, I have steps at my home and the boys were so kind to bring up stuff from my basement and then even after they were done they moved some chairs for me (it is wonderful to have young helpers!) LOL The whole thing went so smoothly. I had a couple of items to get rid of and had called a service but they very kindly offered to dispose of them for me. I was seriously impressed with the whole Dodge staff. Jeanie, the office admin person, was always ready to answer questions and she had all my paperwork in order. Even the person who got me some extra boxes from the warehouse was really quick and polite. I would certainly recommend Dodge for all moving needs. I liked they were local, knew the area and were quick. They kept offering to help move stuff and did not mind my heavy dresser, etc. I also had about 70 boxes full of stuff and they just were so accommodating and helpful. They never ever acted like they wanted to get going or that I was being a pain. LOL They were just very professional. The whole staff at Dodge is first rate! read more

LITERALLY DESTROYED MY FURNITURE & DISAPPEARED. Attempted several calls with mgmt to resolve before having to send certified mail with the threat of legal action. Without the threat of legal action this matter would not have been resolved. The movers were clearly unqualified as furniture was not protected at all on the truck AND fell off the truck when they arrived to unload. Mgmt was less than apologetic and attempted to rush me to fill out their resolution form. To top it off they refused to take additional calls after the initial call (if I had any questions about the form, etc). All this felt as if they were using delay tactics to not solve the issue. It has been 9 months later and finally the last of all pieces damages was repaired. If you need help moving I can come over and kick your furniture for half the price they charged. The results will be the same except you save a few bucks. read more

The interview, the contact, the move itself was fine. But there was some damage - not much. Most damage was approved and I received a check but one item was not which bears sharing. As with most household items that require they be disassembled to move, the movers then are required to assemble them at the destination. Such was the case with my oversized desk. When the agents for the moving company placed the desk top back on the desk base, it did not attach properly. Consequently, when a flat writing extension is pulled out, it rubs and scratches. Company states that this is not in transit damage. Seems if you take it apart, you should put it back together properly. I paid for full replacement coverage insurance which seems to have no bearing on their accepting responsibility for my damage. read more

Hired Dodge to move. They wrapped and loaded my stuff on a Monday..promised to call with the name of my driver. On Friday left me a message they didn't have a driver and were going to put my household in crates and hand it over to someone...who knows who..to move because they don't have any drivers (mind you this move was planned months in advance). So in essence if you hire Dodge you are not hiring Dodge you are hiring who ever they might find to move your stuff. That careful wrapping and cushioning comes off when they hand it off btw. Extremely disappointed and feel misled and will be calling the Department of Transportation. read more

In 20 years of active duty and 11 major moves in the last 30 years, I experienced a lot. This is my third move through Mayflower and so when they had Dodge do the move I assumed it would be the service I expected from Mayflower. This now has been my worst move in 30 years. I should have questioned it when they said they would pack and load the same day. They took longer to pack on the kitchen and art than most movers have taken to pack the entire house. Two of the workers spent more time on breaks than working. Then comes the delivery woes. First, the delivery was Tuesday, then definitely not Wednesday, but maybe Thursday, then definitely not Thursday and finally on Friday afternoon they promised they would be here Saturday morning at 9:00. They finally showed up at 12:30 on Saturday and while a skilled driver should have been able to get down the driveway this guy could not. Even the people helping him unload seemed shocked that he couldn't do it and would not listen to them. I have more scratched up furniture and walls than I have ever had in any move. I wish I were done, but no. Now I have been waiting two days for the people to hook up the washer and drying and uncrate the art. First, they were coming the same day but called Friday to say they were fully booked for Saturday and would be here Monday. It took 4 calls to get them to say they scheduled it between 1 and 4 on Monday and hadn't they called. I said no and then the woman said well it is only 3:30 and I had to tell her no it was 4:30 now as Knoxville is Eastern time. They were again going to call right back. Two hours later and I still haven't heard from them. I should add they told me all the 3rd party cost were included in the price, which turns out not to be true. So, when Mayflower tells you it is Dodge moving run far and find another mover. This has been awful. read more

Terrible company. My grandmother is moving from her home of 35 years to a retirement community after her husband passed. We were promised by the salesperson that the movers would be here by 8. No call no show. Now they said they would be here between 12-2. They then insulated I was a liar. Stay away from this company. read more
