I got my teeth cleaned here last time by Dina Shimoyama and she was very good and professional. I didn't once feel uncomfortable of what she was doing and requested her for my next appointment. I do miss Lynn, who used to work here, because she's just so friendly and would share random funny stories/news. Everyone else is friendly too especially the lady at the front desk. The facility is very clean. I never have to wait long when I go in for my appointment. There's always some type of music playing in the background to keep my mind somewhere. After each appointment, they have given me floss, toothbrush, and toothpaste. It's all very easy street parking here. read more

I've been to a lot of different dentists in my life, and this place is by far the BEST! The reception staff is always friendly and inviting, and the lady who calls to confirm my appointment reminds me of my grandma calling to wish me a "Happy Birthday". Most dental hygienists that I've been to act like you're inconveniencing them while they're doing their job, but Jeri is my favorite because she's easy to talk to and she never makes me feel nervous or uncomfortable while I'm in the chair. I recently moved from only 2 blocks away to about a 35 minute drive, but I still don't have any intentions of going somewhere new. Having been going to Dr. Dodges office for many years. Started with him on a recommendation from a friend because I do not like dentists. Dr. Dodge was always so gentle and took his time. After Dr. Dodge retired I seeing Dr. Seraji. I am equally impressed with him. He is also very gentle and kind. If you don't like going to the dentist like me, I would recommend Dr. Seraji. read more

I never had Dr. Dodge as my dentist, I had his associate, Dr. Shimoyama. She was fine, very professional. The staff is friendly. My review is about the actual office. Nothing has changed for probably the past 20 years. The decor, the furniture and most importantly - the equipment. Nothing state of the art here. No digital x-rays, Intra-oral photography, nothing computerized in treatment rooms, and no welcome distractions for the patient, like televisions in each room. I prefer to go to a dental office that is up to date and implements the latest technology. read more

A bit about me... I had been going to the same dentist almost my whole life, but had to switch recently and tried this place because of decent reviews. I have healthy teeth, no cavities, fillings, whatever. So my biggest problem is that MY TEETH STILL HURT. All I'll say is that it's been many hours since getting the cleaning and I still have to eat food somewhat gingerly. I've never had this happen in the many years of getting my teeth cleaned. It probably has something to do with the fact that blood was practically gushing out of my mouth during the cleaning. When I spit out the rinse in between the scrapings, it was completely red. Again, I have never experienced anything like this. My second problem was the lady who came in to check me after the cleaning was done. It was your typical after-cleaning checkup where she started rooting around in my mouth, but then after checking, with her fingers covered in my saliva, she proceeded to rub her hands all over my jaw and throat checking for who knows what. Seriously, who does that?! I know it's my own saliva, but that doesn't mean I want to use it as a facial moisturizer. With your future patients, please have the courtesy to change your gloves. One more minor complaint is that they actually have two dental chairs with big windows facing out into the waiting room (I got one of these). The windows are tinted, but you can clearly see the patients getting work done while waiting. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not a big fan of being put on display with my mouth gaping open. Please cover the windows! Or if you want to get really fancy, install one-way mirrors. They get a couple stars just because my teeth are actually clean. I'm a bit scared to write a negative review because I do have an appointment to come back here at a later date. I gotta give them another chance if only because they're so close to me. I'll update after the next visit. Other things of note: -Desk staff is very nice -X-rays are done digitally. I saw an earlier review saying they didn't have this, so they must have upgraded. -Street parking is very easy (I parked right in front of the entrance), although it looks like they have a small parking lot -You get a toothbrush, floss and a couple small tubes of toothpaste after the cleaning -First time patients get a free travel mug -They have free wi-fi, which is nice, since my phone had a hard time getting reception in the waiting room. read more

I actually like going to the dentist now! I use to hate it! I go to Dina Shimoyama and she is awesome. I have had her do three cavities and she was willing to go with my request of no novicane. This makes my fillings be done in 15 min and is actually better. You only have about 3 minutes of discomfort (not pain) and it is all over. When she does it this way it feels like you just drank cold water with the tooth she was drilling when it was right over the cavity. They were small ones. But worth no drugs and drooling. She also is very friendly and does my cleanings herself. I like deep cleanings every 6 mo and she digs just as I ask. They are quick. I think out of the 2 years I have been going there and the 8 or so appointments I never wait longer than 10 minutes. Even when I am super early. I always look forward to going in and never dread and push back appointments. read more

I've hated dentists since I was a child. This is the only dentist office that puts me at ease and the dentists and staff are lovely. They remember your birthday and remind you of appointments. They also can usually get you an appointment in a timely manner. read more

This place is awful and corrupt. Yes, it's clean and they seem like they have state of the art equipment and that's probably because they'll take every last bit of your insurance money. I walked into that office needing to have a tooth fixed and have an annual cleaning. Walk out with 9 cavities... I went back in had one cavity fixed ask to get the ONE tooth I was concerned about to get fixed. And they refused to fix it, instead they insisted on fixing other "cavities" I refused and canceled every appointment I had set up. Fast forward two months later, I found a new dentist who asked if I could have my previous x-rays emailed to them and the receptionist here acted unprofessional and petty when I said I found a new dentist. Anyway, my new dentist looked at my X-rays and took new ones and said he can't find my cavities that this place had so called seen. Moral of the story, this place is terrible and will take all the money your insurance has to offer. Will never recommend. read more

I miss Dr. Dodge. I have been a client for 15 years and the new office would not let me make payments on my bridge without interest. Isn' $500 a month good enough for you? I had to break a CD to avoiid interest. They lost me as a ciient over this. You have to add the human element to business. I can't say enough about this office... they are fantastic!! First I'd like to say, all of the office staff in the front is very nice. When I came in for the first time, they were so inviting. I got a cute travel mug for becoming a new patient. And I got a follow up call a few days later to make sure my first visit was a pleasing one! I had several appointment scheduled because it was too much to do at once. However, I was having other medical issues. They office was so nice and understanding about my need to cancel my appointments. Dr Dodge even had his office call to see how I was feeling. II went in today for 3 of 7 fillings. I know, YIKES!!! I was soooooo nervous!!! I was mostly afraid of the shots. However, Dr Dodge was wonderful. Calm, gentle and compassionate. The shots didn't hurt at all :) He walked me through what he was going to be doing. He would explain the condition of each tooth while he was working on it. I have more appointments coming up. However, next time I won't have any anxiety because I know I am in good hands!! read more

This office is not clean and nothing in it has been changed. Dr. Dodge puts any other dentist that he possibly can. He just wants your money. He will see things that no other dentists sees in your xrays. I dont recommend this place. read more

After 30 years of visiting the dentist and never having had a cavity I most recently discovered I had acquired a cavity! BUMMER! While at my appointment with Dr. Silberberg not only did she make me feel extremely comfortable in an anxious situation for me, not knowing exactly what to expect but she talked me through what she was doing. After a while of working on my tooth she discovered it was unfortunate but my poor tooth would most likely need a root canal... Double bummer! I can not express how much I absolutely love Dr. Silberberg as this was not a pleasant experience, and not because of her but simply because, who wants to find out after 30 years of perfect dental health they'll be needing a root canal... But she made me feel incredibly comfortable, safe and eased my nerves. Again... I can not express how much I recommend this office. And my opinion of the office staff remains the same as well... I never appreciated this dental office until I had to go elsewhere (due to a dental emergency and subsequent need for follow-up with that office). Dr. Dina is the best, and all the hygienists over the 8 years that I went there were gentle (that's important!) and thorough. I miss this place, and will definitely be coming back! read more

I am a patient of Dr. Dodge after an exhausting search for an honest dentist. He has a great sense of humor and made me feel comfortable since I am always very nervous at the dentist since I've had several bad past experiences. I am always very impressed with the friendliness of the office staff and hygienists as well. The office is clean and professional. Most importantly, Dr. Dodge listened to me when I told him I get panic attacks at the dentist and that it takes me a long time to get numb. He used the Novocain that doesn't include epinephrine which always makes me feel more anxious. He was very gentle and concerned for my comfort during a recent replacement of a filling. I have to say, I've been to a lot of dentists in the past, but Dr. Dodge is my favorite and I would highly recommend him. read more

overall i love this dentist office. i have berta, as a hygeniest and she is super nice and sweet. however, the bed-side manner of Dina Shimoyama is something to be desired which is why i knocked off one star. last time, before i left she was kind of rude and "dismissed and shooed me out of the office" and while i was talking about an upcoming root canal which is traumatic to me and ive never even had a crown. i was a bit shocked she was that rude and uncaring. i may switch doctors after this because her fillings tend to not last that long and i dont get the feeling that she really cares and she gives off a really cold vibe. overall nice office but i dont particularly care for her style. it can be a good office but you need the right technicians. i had a hygeniest that was terrible there and so i think now that i have a good hygeniest - i should get a different main dentist there.
