It is easy to see that Dr. Karen Martinez, along with her staff, are skilled, knowledgeable, and concerned for the well-being of their patients. Upon seeing what good care my mother received during her visits, I decided to switch my dentist and became a patient of theirs as well. So far, I've had x-rays done, a routine cleaning, a procedure for a custom night guard (due to my jaw clenching tendencies), and some much needed fillings. All of these procedures went well, and I am satisfied with the results. If you are looking for the 'perfect' dentist office, you will never find it. But if you're looking for a dentist office that has, as a priority, your oral health in mind and will give you the best care possible, then New Smile Dental Studio is for you. read more

I had a horrible experience at this dentist's office with Dr. Martinez. I actually came here from a recommendation - I have dental anxiety and the person who referred me had a good experience, so I came for some tooth sensitivity. I got really anxious during my first visit, cried during my injections, and Dr. Martinez seemed very agitated about it and making strange comments. She asked me if I was upset with her or unhappy with her work, which I thought was a strange assumption to make. I explained that I was really just anxious about dental work overall, but this did not seem to appease her and she consistently had a negative demeanor with me for all my future visits. She was since very heavy handed with me - during a crown replacement, she just walked into the room and without even saying anything, grabbed my new crown and placed it really roughly and it caused me severe pain for two weeks after that. She was condescending when I would ask questions about my treatment - she was not happy to be wasting her time and explaining things to me and it was very evident. She absolutely made my dental anxiety worse. I only went back for my subsequent visits because her office made my crown replacements and I didn't want to pay another place again. Based on her other reviews, it seems like she doesn't treat all her patients like this. If I was a new patient, I would be wary of risking it, though. I would sincerely advise you to go elsewhere if you have dental anxiety - Dr. Martinez was not patient or kind regarding this. The only good thing to come out of my time here is that she did refer me to an amazing clinic that did my root canal! Otherwise, my experiences at their office were just bad. Dr. Martinez and some of the techs really needs to work on their manner with patients. Update - I had the above review drafted for a while, but finally switched to a new office, so I have more to add. I was experiencing some discomfort after I got a new crown and fillings here. Within a couple months, the filling cracked and my crown shifted, causing pain. I even told Dr. Martinez I was feeling something expanding, and she did not look into it. Just said it was material properties. My new, great dentist's office confirmed the crack and the shifted crown. I unfortunately have to pay out of pocket because the subpar work I had done here is less than 5 years old. Still, I'm glad the new office I'm in took my complaints seriously. Came here for a root canal in 2023, Dr. Martinez had no bedside manner and was very short and pushy. Not only did she botch my initial root canal work she started but had a few words of explanation when suddenly stopping and telling me I had to go to a specialist to finish the job and walked away... I eventually came back for my crown installation and after that explained to her how I felt a slight pain when drinking cold and she brushed it off as I might need a filling in the tooth next to the root canal and said she'd take care of it later. Now in 2025 I get seen by a new dentist and they're saying she over shaved the tooth next to the root canal to make the crown fit and that's why it is slightly painful to cold liquid.... Excuse me what? You mean to tell me NOT ONLY was she RUDE but she did a shitty job? The only reason I'm not giving 0 stars is because her assistant/dental hygienist with long black hair Angelica was her name if I remember well, was so nice and comforting and explained to me what was happening when Dr.Martinez would walk away with no humanity as to explain to her patient what was going on. God bless that assistant soul. I even witnessed Dr.Martinez be extremely rude to her during my root canal. That alone should have warned me, if she's rude to her people why on earth would she be human to her patients. read more

Pushy dentist that seems more like a used-car salesperson than a doctor. Speaks at 100mph trying to get you to get extra treatment that isn't covered by your insurance, and then they make you sign a thing confirming you will cover anything that won't be covered by your insurance, knowing well that they will recommend things that aren't covered.
