Where do I start...free consultation went great. Explained everything to the lawyer, was told that this was an easy case considering we had already came to agreement on how we were going to divide our assets, 4 months tops. Just wanted to be done and out of this marriage. Paid my fee in August then the waiting game began. They didn't start the paper until November(after many phone calls) and eventually closed in February. Started off with one lawyer. He actually forgot about our first appointment and gave me only 10 minutes of his time. Then in the middle of my divorce they changed my lawyer and told that I can have a 15 minute free consult with the new one! I never even met with with the first one! Didn't I pay for this already?! They also stated this lawyer had more experience with my kind of case which was a very simple divorce. I wanted nothing from him and vice versa. Simply protect what we came in with. Did my 1st lawyer just graduate or something?! I had to chase them to see how it was going and to get them moving. My ex received a letter from the court stating that the case would be dismissed due to inactivity. No one knew what the other was doing and they actually sent me someone else's divorce documents! The straw that broke the camels back and actually reinforced my thoughts on writing a review, was trying to get my name restored at social security for 2 hrs and finding that I needed to purchase the original documents. Not a big deal right?! WRONG! Because, I was not informed of this and when I called the office they of course weren't aware and was told that they would mention it in the next meeting. Zero stars would best describe my association with Dodge and Vega. I met Ben Dodge at my church which gave me confidence in working with his firm. Prior to retaining Dodge and Vega I had retained two other firms that were horrific. The representation of these firms far exceed in a favorable way what I experienced with Dodge and Vega. As I now look back, my consultation with Kim was a sales pitch that went bad due to Kim's inability to represent Dodge and Vega in a professional and possible attorney/client relationship. Upon retaining Dodge and Vega I was assigned Nicholas Walters as my attorney. Initaly, the legal staff that was assigned to me were all rah, rah like cheerleaders. I provided the legal team a great amount of information to prepare for the trial. Lengthy threads of emails took place where it became difficult to follow them where instead a quick phone call would have alleviated this from taking place. Time wasted and my money being depleted! On a few occasions when I was in the office of Dodge and Vega I saw Ben Dodge. I was greeted by Ben with a superficial "we have got you" comment. Please, Ben, save your pathetic attempt of professionalism for someone that falls into your cunning trap. The horrific experience that I had with Nick Walters, my attorney is yet difficult to comprehend. Two days before the trial date I met with Nick to prepare for the trial. Together we went through the outline that Nick had prepared for the trial. I left this meeting feeling confident in going to the trial with Nick. On the day of the trial the opposing party began with some negative presentations against me. Nick did absolutely nothing to defend me or allow any kind of an explanation about what was presented. Without becoming more verbal, Nick did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to represent me. Nick took me out of the courtroom to inform me how badly things were going and nothing appeared to be in my favor. The end result was that I walked away from everything when it appeared that Nick had prepared a very solid case that he didn't deliver in court to represent me. While in court with Nick he portrayed himself in a way where it appeared that he had no idea about what was going on. Let me tell you about Kim Hewes....Kim resulted in being a very mean and argumentative individual with absolutely no professional decorum. If you are looking for a law firm that will lie to you, end up treating you horrible and do absolutely nothing for you after paying them a retainer, you have come to the right place if you retain Dodge and Vega. read more

Horrible communication and little to no recognition in the clients needs. I went 3-4 months with no contact from my lawyer. I called and emailed multiple times with no response. I was transfered to a new hire 4 months after my case had already begun. There was no discussion about my pre-trail and no assistance on what was to be expected regauding my case. The legal assistant is rude and has hung up on me when questioned about the status of my case. My documents were held onto for days without notifying me the judge had made a ruling on my case. During my free consultation I was told my case would be "open and shut, no problem" and that they handled family law often. That was not my experience. I feel lied to and scammed out of thousands of dollars. The front staff is understand and kind. read more

They did nothing. They requested less time than I was already receiving because of (miscommunication) them not paying attention to previous orders. Then they misplaced and miss used evidence making mine, useless. Never sought CPS reports of abuse on our son, never used past info to show I was actually the one assaulted (charged but pictures show I went to protect my ex... stupid ik) during our relationship. To top it off they never attempted to get records from DES and now I have to pay for 2 years support our son lived with us with no support right after I was homeless. Now I have to pay out of my vet checks money I don't have. I was helped with my lawyer bills and I feel bad. Thousands on mistakes that left us around 10k less, less visiting and lost evidence. read more

I had been dealing with being pushed over by my son's father and at the last minute I decided to hire an attorney because I didn't want to chance losing my child! They had 3 days before the weekend to learn my case and make sure we were prepared for anything! My attorney Kevin Whitacre made me feel at ease and for the first time I sat back and let my Ex dig himself a hole and look like a tool. Needless to say I got my son back and ever went great. Im a 67 yr old on ss going through a divorce and told this law firm my problem and took me as a client they didn't keep me informed of what was going on just wanted there exjorbeant payment twice a month and would not work out a payment plan and drop you as a client. I contacted this firm for a free consultation on 3/10/14 through their website and was immediately sent an email saying Ben Dodge would be in touch within 24 hrs. In the email I told them that I needed help with preparing a temporary order for an existing Grandparents Rights case. I made the mistake of telling them that I was poor, sick and disabled. Guess what? No one ever contacted me. I called the office on 3/17/14 and was told that I would definitely get a call within 24hrs. Still nothing. I guess if you are poor and disabled you don't even get the respect of a phone call. Nice. read more
