Frank responded quickly and professionally to my inquiry and was more than kind enough to make a trip out to Vaughan from his location in Mississauga to meet me and save on the repair costs. I needed some darning work done on my Flat Head jeans - I previously got work done at Dutil, but there is really no one else in the city that does darn work. Most of the shops (even Dutil) simply use a patch, which never looks quite right and feels right. Frank does it like the real pros and he definitely colour matched it well. As a selvedge denim enthusiast, there is no one else that your denim deserves most! GTA is lucky to have him for sure! read more

Doctor Denim does great work, but thus far, twice, I have not received any responses for requested repairs to my jeans. I have followed ''à la lettre'' their instructions to take photographs, filling the forms and following up by email. No responses, even after frequent follow ups. Good work, but not great service. I tried to get a repair done with Doctor Denim, but he was extremely rude and dismissive. He emailed me at 11 am the day of asking to arrange a pick up within the next 2 hours, to which I asked him if my address would work as it was right off the DVP exit so I thought it would be more convenient for him. Note, this location is maybe 5-10 minutes driving from the downtown location he mentioned, which I ALSO agreed would work for me. Anyway, he suggested I pay extra for gas to pick up at my location, I said no, it's really close to his original suggested location, and before I got the chance to say I'd prefer the other location he mentioned, he basically hung up on me! Any blowouts in your denim, Doctor Denim is your goto. I'll be honest, the site seems very untrustworthy but I heard about this spot from a friend so I gave the "sketchy" UI/UX a shot if this meant I was able to salvage my Nudies for a very affordable price. The turnaround time was less than 48hr. I was very happy with the results. The dye was on point. I haven't worn those Nudies in years because of a blow out but after my friend recommending me here, I am happy to be wearing these more frequently again. Thank you so much, you are amazing. I had 4 pairs of jeans repaired by Frank; 3 were ripped in the crotch area and 1 was ripped in the knee area. Frank was quick to respond and even offered to do the repairs on a Saturday (I told him I had a busy schedule and I could drop by Mississauga on Saturdays). The repairs were done within 2 hours and he charged $70 for all 4 pairs. Great price and great service! read more

Got two crotch blowouts fixed for a total of $35. Really good work at a really good price. I'm pretty sure the repaired sports are now the most durable part of my jeans. Will be getting my business again should I need more repairs. read more

Particular customers with particular questions and expectations that a 13-inch rip can be made undone and invisible for good, as I understand, are served in the GTA by skilled on-site repair facilities inside dry cleaner shops where you can sit down next to the seamstress, follow the work as beind done and even give them instructions on the process. Another option for you may be denimtherapy in New York City, they are supposedly the best (and cheapest) in the denim repair business and love "special" customers. I had a few pair of Nudie jeans with small tears and areas that were really worn in the crotch that needed repair. This tends to be a problem with my jeans. In past I had taken them back to the store where I purchased them and they arranged for repair somewhere in Toronto (I think a place somewhere on Queen??). I was extremely disappointed with the jeans I had repaired by them. All they did was sew a non matching denim patch on the inside and then used some non-matching thread to attach them. It looked terrible!! It drew more attention to the area than having a rip there. Plus it was about $30/ pair. After researching some better repair options (which I should have done first), and from reviews from friends, I came across the Doctor Denim website. Using the form on the website, I submitted a request for a quote. The same day I received a reply from Frank asking for some detailed photos of the damaged areas. I sent Frank the pictures he requested and he provided me with an awesome quote. First off I have to say this is amazing, knowing how much it will cost before even dropping off the jeans. He also assured me this was an easy fix. On top of all this Frank asked what area of the city I lived in. After I told him he and mentioned he would be there the next morning and he could meet me to grab the jeans. How awesome is that!! I was able to meet him 5min from my place! I agreed and dropped off my jeans the next morning. To my surprise I received a text saying they were done the same day! He sent me preview photos as well, showing the work. All I can say is that he worked magic on my jeans! Somehow he was able to repair the areas so well that they look almost like new. He was able to even blend the thread colours so it matched the worn areas of the jeans...crazy! Needless to say I am very pleased with the results and will be mentioning this to all of my friends looking for a denim repair as well as to the store the next time I'm in there to buy a new pair. I hope they will pass this contact to any customer that cares about their jeans and wants to bring them back to excellent condition. Last week, I called Frank at Doctor Denim to repair crotch blowouts on two pairs of Nudie jeans. I didn't just want a patch sewn on, and Frank assured me the fabric would be repaired properly with his darning equipment. He happened to be travelling in my area the next day, and arranged pickup right from my house. He did not expect a payment until after the service was completed. He repaired them over the weekend, and sent an email with photos showing the completed repair for my approval. Pickup was easy at his downtown location, and a bargain at $30 ($15/pair). You can hardly tell there was any work done on the jeans- they look as good as new. I'd use Doctor Denim again in a heartbeat. read more
