Hey guys it's a new restaurant, it has some kinks to work out. My husband and I ate there last night for the first time. There really isn't much of a menu, more like nibble food. The burger I had was decent. Eric stone dropped by the table to ask if we had been spoken to which we had not at that time. He took our drink orders for us. Don't care waiting if I have a drink. All in all they have some things to work on. I'd go for cocktails next time. read more

Great atmosphere. We sat literally on a dock with music playing. Very friendly staff. Kitchen is small, but guaranteed our food was fresh. My husband and I split the dirty chips and the Caribbean Jerk Chicken. Both were excellent. Portions are large and filling for the price. The rum punch on special was very good too! Had a fantastic time X-mas eve with our waitress Nicki. Band was a lot of fun, did shots with our waitress and the owner. However, we went back on X-mas and after nobody approached us at the table we went to the bar and finally got the attention of bartender. (He was very busy doing nothing) He was a condescending, obnoxious d-bag. Asking simple normal questions like," is there waitress service?" or , "can we get a pitcher of beer? " He kept giving answers like "It's Christmas" (and nothing else) Making its feel like complete idiots for just asking a question. Telling us they don't serve pitchers when we had five the night before. read more

The Best Bang for your Buck in the Keys! Our family of 6 visited Dockside Tropical Cafe during our trip to the Keys in January 2014. Our server allowed us to choose any table, all of which have views to the water (some are inches away!). She was extremely polite and helpful, not patronizing, not the usual tired of serving tourists. We couldn't get enough our 5-rum punch and the pina coladas, not to mention the very fresh black bean salsa and best dirty chips in the Keys (can you say bacon and gorgonzola?). The meals were an absolute deal for the $$. One family member said it was the best rueben (mahi mahi) they've ever had. Fantastic seafood chowder. The BLTs, burgers and house club sandwiches were huge. Yummy sides and the side salad was huge with corn Chex on top (yes, and it was good!). You can see the chef preparing everything from the open air kitchen (kudos!). You can't beat the music, dockside dining, manatee viewing and people watching (motoring over to Dockside on their dinghys from boats moored in the harbor). The fresh food and top notch customer service will keep us coming back each year. Love this place! read more

I am not sure why there are some bad reviews on Yelp. We had read them, but the guy behind the desk at our hotel recommended the place and he was right. It was a good choice for us. My wife and I stopped in twice while we were visiting the Keys. First time was around 8:00 on Friday night. I had the Blackened Fish Sandwich and my wife had a Steak special. Erin was our waitress and she was friendly and did a very good job. She was attentive and the drinks and food came out promptly. The fish sandwich was excellent. My wife ordered a Key Lime Martini and I sampled from their Tequila bar. She said it tasted good, but a bit too sweet for her taste so she switched to a margarita. The Eric Stone Band was playing and they were very good. The music was a mix of cover songs (mostly rock) with some original songs off of the lead singers CD's. Since we enjoyed the night before, we went back to Dockside Saturday night. The same band was playing but the play list was mostly different - and still good. I thought about ordering the Fish Sandwich again since I liked it so much, but decided to go with appetizers instead. Our waitress, Sara, suggested Hog Handles . . . We didn't know what to expect, but it is tender pork on a bone. Never seen it before, but it was great. I would definitely order it again. We also had coconut shrimp which were tasty. The food from night #1 was very good, but we came back for the atmosphere and the music. It is hard to beat a warm winter's evening next to the water having a drink, enjoying good music and good food. We will definitely return to Dockside. I recommend trying the Hog Handles and Blackened Fish Sandwich. You can't go wrong. read more

I had an opportunity to spend three days in Marathon and knew that the old Rocco's Dockside bar had been reopened as the Dockside Tropical Cafe by TropRocker Eric Stone and his wife, Kim, Yoga Queen , also known through Latitudes and Attitudes, Cruising Outpost magazine, amongst others.. I spent three evenings at the cafe and will sum up my experience by saying- All of the food I had was excellent, from the Hog Handles, Blackened Fish Sandwich, smoked fish dip and the Bob Bitchin's Big Bad Beach Burger. Excellent! Oh, and those onion rings are over the top good! Bar pricing for beer and liquor was fairly priced. No complaints there. And a nice selection. The entertainment, well it's a club in the Keys owned by a well known TropRocker. That pretty much speaks for itself. How could it be better? Especially the Sunday night Open Mic Night was very entertaining, there's some real undiscovered talent out there. And anytime Eric Stone and his band are on stage, if you're a fan of TropRock music is Rock Solid entertainment, whether they're playing Eric Stone classics or playing cover tunes. Just count on a good time. I give a four star rating rather than a five only because at times the service was a little slow. But, who cares really. Worst experience in the keys. Do not go to this restaurant. Terrible awful service, mediocre food. Not worth it at all!!!

Dockside is a must visit. Food was fantastic. Prices were average. But the service was absolutely great. In the Keys, everybody seems to have a no rush attitude. At Dockside, our waitress was the best. We had a party of 10 and not one order was wrong. Defiantly coming back next year. read more

Pew wanted to like this place. Walked in and the service was friendly, that is were it all stopped. Food took 1:45 to come out and it was wrong, no cheese on the burger, forgot the sides. Food was cold and subpar. At lease 5 other tables walked out or were clearly unhappy. Do not go for food. Perhaps a drink at the bar would be fine. read more

Horrible. 5 beers on tap were out. I had a local draught, my wife yeungling. Both pints. Cost $11. The rug coasters had mold on the bottom. Restaurant had a horrendous smell. One drink and gone. Went to island fish company and got 2 24 oz draught for 3 dollars less. read more

The food was worth the 2.5 hour frive from Coral Springs. The Jerk Chicken was the best.

We have been in there several times at different hours, and have found that breakfast is really the only time to go there! We were there last night and the place was mobbed! Not enough waiters and certainly not enough in the "kitchen". Waited 1hour and 50 minutes and by then a very disappointing burger. If that was a 1/4 pounder I have to adjust my scales. Eric Stone may be a great singer, but it is so loud that everything gets muffled and the lyrics are totally washed out. We will not come back here again in the evening. Talked to some boat owners who said they would not come back to this marina because of the noise! If there were negative stars I would have given it minus 2 stars! read more

Rude and slow bartenders. 10 min to get a drink and they seemed to act like they were doing me a favor. Bar was not busy only about 8 people there. If they worked at our local bar up north they would be looking for other employment. Will never stop again no second chance. read more
