The beer battered fish yummy, NOT greasy and the batter did not suffocate the fish like many do. Unfortunately they ran out of French fries the side with the fish ( they hand cut them) we were disappointed but settled on the mashed potatoes. Let me just say I'll order the mashed potatoes all night long. They were fantastic!!! The service (Chrissy) was attentive and very accommodating without a hint of frustration. The atmosphere was so nice. While the place was busy we felt like we were having a private party. We will absolutely come again. Thank 197

They are about 6 weeks from home. They have been at it for 334 days. God Bless them! Anyway, we ate at this little restaurant in Downtown Oswego. What a find. Excellent service, excellent food, nice atmosphere. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I had the catfish sandwich, but I also had 1/2 of my wife's Croque Madame. That was awesome! Obviously we won't be returning, but if you live here (or close), you should go.

What to say about Red Sun that hasn't already been said- the restaurant is one of, if not, the best…read morethat Oswego has to offer. Fresh ingredients, delightful flavors, a curated menu and freshly made deserts! We have frequented this restaurant each time we are in town and truly. It never disappoints. From the appetizers to the main courses to the cocktails- Red Sun delivers. On our most recent outing I had the Pig and Swig pizza- fire roasted with pork sausage, broccoli, red onions, red pepper and mozzarella this was absolutely delicious! We shared the fire roasted wings too which were amazing! I had a cocktail- which sadly I cannot remember the name of but I do know that it has my favorite gin- Empress. Red Sun is one of the very few restaurants in Oswego to carry this delightful brand- and it makes me super happy! Laurie the owner, has been in business for quite a while in Oswego and also owns the delightful Port City Cafe right next door as well as the new and exciting Lorbird in Fulton- another amazing experience. We were so fortunate to meet and spend time chatting with her and let me say- this lady knows her stuff. Most inspiring is that she knows her customers and their tastes and she knows how to be successful! Red Sun is an absolute must when visiting Oswego- you won't be disappointed! It's an elevated experience that I truly hope will inspire other establishments to rise to!

With all of that going for it, the main reason it gets 5 stars is the waitstaff. They are professional but also warm and friendly. They treat everyone kindly like family. The vegetables in the salad were sliced so thin you could literally see through them. The service was awful. One person at our table asked 3 times for her meal. We arrived to decorate for the party the room was filthy, no air was turned on it was steaming hot we asked for the air to be turned on and they did, when we arrived back for the party it was still so hot. It was raining out when we arrived for the party and the ceiling was leaking in two spots when I said something I was told hopefully it will stop raining the carpet was soaked and the room smelled musty. The food was set up on the dance floor and served late and very slow to be moved after dinner so no dancing could happen for the first two hours of the party. The food was only what I can imagine was prison quality food it was slop by my standards. Seafood newburg was served and was not labeled one of my guest was allergic to seafood and ate it. They had plastic plates instead of china and they were lunch sized plates. Our meal included coffee and tea and it was never served or set up anywhere. We told them we had 90 rsvp's but wanted the room set for 98, we had about 85 people we were charged for 98. There was a 24 percent service charge added to our bill then he said are you leaving the girls a tip? Of course we did but what was the 24 percent? While we were all dancing all of our man in the moon chocolate favors and the bowls of chocolate kisses were taken from our tables when they were picking up. I was honestly so embarrassed by the whole experience I will promise I will never step foot in the place again. The bathrooms were scary disgusting and the men's room was tore apart . One star would be generous.

We started with appetizers and we were very impressed. I had some fish strips and she had some clams, and both were very tasty. After this I ordered a fake haddock beer battered onion rings and she had a macaroni and cheese with seafood. Everything tasted just wonderful. It was a nice breezy evening and we sat out on the porch overlooking the river which was only about 100 yd from the lake anyway. The part I wanted to brag about was when my wife showed me the cocktail menu and asked what she thought I would think she would like and I mean this light-heartedly because my wife does not like the taste of alcohol. There's only one particular flavor of wine for example that she can have and I've tried it, it tastes like a spoonful of sugar, I'm not a big fan.. but either way they didn't have that there and nothing else on the cocktail menu looked to me like she was going to enjoy it however I had a video that I had saved from you too a year ago of oranda bartender making a drink that could be served to people that don't like the taste of alcohol. I'm not going to go into what was in it here however I showed the ingredient list to the waitress and asked her if she thought that the bar would have all of that and she replied yes so she wrote down to each individual ingredient and came back with this cool looking glass full of pinkish liquid it had two oz of alcohol in it according to the list I gave her, and my wife absolutely loved it. So basically from a waitress telling a bartender. Here's what I want but I don't know the name of it, but here's what's in it... They nailed it. . Add that to everything else that went splendidly, and yeah I would definitely come here again.
