Doc wine bar has the best ambiance. You can sit inside, outside, at their bar, or on a cozy circular couch. REAL candles flood the space and make it look very intimate and cozy. The servers are all straight out of Italy, which is a great thing for an Italian restaurant. The pasta is all made fresh daily and they offer specials so don't forget to ask about them. I've been here a couple times and the pasta is always the best thing on the menu. The wine by the glass is okayyyyy, maybe I got the wrong thing. BUT the cocktails are amazing and the bartender is great! Also they always accept walk ins!

I used to love this place, it us getting so bad, they serve crostini on white bread, but on the menu says sourdough, horrible

I've been a long time frequenter of the DOC Wine Shop nearby on Broadway, and I finally made it to their sister restaurant on Wythe. If sitting on the sidewalk here sipping on a glass of natty wine when the temperatures have come down in late August isn't the Brooklyn dream, then I'm not sure what is. We shared a pasta with their pistachio-based pesto and their gnocchi gratin. I'm a sucker for any dish that uses pistachios in a savory context, and the pesto was definitely the highlight of our meal, with a hearty nuttiness that felt like a revelation. The gnocchi gratin was on the heavier side, and didn't quite fit the mood of the evening.

Five stars all the way around! The waiter was so nice and the food was absolutely delicious. And I have to say, I am willing to travel multiple hours just to have their tiramisu again! The way it melts in your mouth and the perfect texture makes it absolutely amazing!

INCREDIBLEEEE FOOD! OMG. The food here!!! We stumbled upon this place with my 16 year old daughter and everything we tried on the menu was world class!! TO DIE FOR. What a find!! We felt TRANSPORTED to Italy and the service was beyond compare. We discovered a true gem. The bread, olives, bolognese pasta, eggplant parmesan, ceasar salad, we're going back to try ribeye steak, linguine ala vongole and MORE. The romantic, relaxed ambiance is gorgeous - when I say we felt transported - i cannot stress that enough! Service superb!!!!

Came to grab a drink with a friend. The atmosphere is so cozy and intimate. The service was also very nice. I ordered a glass of wine, and they let you taste test it before pouring the rest. My friend ordered a cocktail. We both enjoyed our night caps. I didn't order food, but I definitely will be coming back again!

We were here for a very sad occasion, a celebration of life for a dear person who passed way too young. This was the perfect venue for it. The restaurant is lovely, the food was delicious, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the drink choices. Later we had dinner, and everything was wonderful. I had a little bit of a number of things, but was already full from all the hors d'oeuvres. The Eggplant Parmesan was very good, as was the beet salad, which had beets so thinly shaved, you could practically see through them. The tiramisu dessert was also scrumptious. I don't know how I managed to eat any as I was so full, but I did have a few spoonfuls. Even the bread basket was great, with thin crisps of air in them. I'm not sure what they're called, but it was a thin crispy flatbread that was like eating crispy air. Absolutely delicious!

Tiny Sardinian cafe known for their homemade pasta. It's quite cramped inside and noticeably loud,…read moreso I wouldn't come here with a large party or a quiet meal. They do have some outdoor seating though, so I'd recommend eating outside if the weather is nice. Service was helpful and pleasant if a bit rushed (no knock on them, but I couldn't understand their English too well). Ordered their lasagna (seasonal), arugula salad, and tiramisu. All I can say is that the food was incredible; the lasagna was rich and savory, the salad was crisp and refreshing, and the tiramisu was firm and moist (and not too sweet). One of the better culinary experiences I've had on the UWS. Downsides are you'll be paying for it with your wallet. Everything is on the slightly pricey side (about $25-40 per entree). Personally, I think it's well worth the cost, and I'll be dining here every day (or at least once a week), after I win the lottery, or maybe just on special occasions.

The lunch special for $21 is a great deal! A choice of an app and a main dish. The portions were…read morequite large, not the usual prixe fixe tiny plates. I split the lunch special and the tuna focaccio with a friend and we had a lot of leftovers. The fritto misto was fresh and hot. Lots of squid and not one piece tough or overcooked. The zucchini were a bit oily. The gnocchi in cream, pancetta and mushroom sauce were perfect. The pancetta was cut in long strips, not diced as is usual, and the difference was striking. I really tasted the pancetta and the flavor was deep and not salty. The balance between the sauce, gnocchi and mushrooms was perfect. The dish was really too big for one person. The focaccio could be split as a small lunch or app. At $25 it felt a bit overpriced, there was not a lot of tuna or capers or onions. It could have used some olives, perhaps. But still, freshly made. There are many pastas that I have never heard of - bigoli? fregola? And some interesting Sardinian sauces I have never heard of. So, if you want a penne vodka or spaghetti/meatballs this is not the place, but if you want to explore something different - definitely check it out for lunch. The food took a while bc everything was cooked to order. The service was quite good.
