We stopped by Dobra tea to try out their unique collection of teas. The store was serving limited type of tea, nonfood, since it was Monday noon. The tea store is huge, lots of tables to sit. Alongside tea, they have menu for some bites, dumplings and rice bowls as well. At the far end of the store, they have the sitting pavilions. Guests can take off their shoes and hang out in groups to enjoy tea and food. We found the price of tea and food reasonable. The person working at that time was very friendly. She explained all the tea leaves and their origin. She made our tea within few minutes. We were in rush, so we the drink to go. The tea had excellent flavor, we liked it a lot. read more

Asian tea shop is located closed to downtown Burlington VT. The decoration is very zen and relaxing. The back section is shoe-off area. Many tea pots / cups / cultural artifacts on display. The lady was very nice and helpful. She showed me the menu and asked if we would like a table. Too bad we were on the time crunch, otherwise I really would love to sit and sip my tea. My friend brought me to here favorite little tea shop in Burlington. Can I just say that this place is so charming? We were greeted when we came in the door and tried to decide on where to sit. Sitting in the very back would require use to take off our shoes, which was cool, but it was kinda dark so we sat in the front where we could watch people and cars going by. I really had a hard time deciding what to order as their menu was extensive. I finally decided on a chilled drink, the Forest Dragon, which had 2 types of green teas: a Japanese matcha and a Chinese jasmine green tea with oat milk(it was originally supposed to have rice milk but they were out this day, the substitution was fine by me), fresh mint, cardamom, and local honey. I have been going to Dobra Tea for at least 3 years now. It is my little get away and place I like to meet people to sit, relax and chat. I enjoy the atmosphere and floor seating especially. The tea menu is wonderful, and it is always fun trying a new tea. Some reviews will say the teas are pricey, however I find them comparable to what one would pay for on average at a coffee house. The owner, who is the main tea maker, is very informative. However, she also tends to be busy, so be patient. read more

I would have left if my son was not with me. Can't understand how someone like her has that position. This is soured further by the fact that the staff was harsh and rude to us, and interactions we observed with other patrons as well. It is of no surprise that they have to force a tip. I went on a Tuesday and the restaurant was completely closed. No lights on, closed sign on the door. It was right around 12 so I decided to go and come back 30 minutes later. Still closed with a locked door. I called the restaurant number to ask if the just forgot to open the door if something and the mailbox was full. I hate leaving a negative review but the automatic gratuity even for take out is crazy. I would not have even known if I didn't ask for a receipt. I order tea to go and pastries they gave themselves a tip or over 5.00. I was there the night before and I did not get a receipt but I'm sure the same thing happened. The tea is good, and the place is cute but I don't like the forced tipping especially when they don't even tell you about it. I'm sad about this because I really love supporting small businesses and I love finding tea places but the charging a tip without telling you is not cool. Stumbled upon this location while in Burlington and found the tea blends very unique! The interior is definitely mismatched - sort of crunchy bohemian - but a nice place to relax for an hour or so. I ordered this crazy chilled blend (one of the dragons) that had lemongrass, mint, matcha, etc. and it was really good/I've never had anything like it! This place has a nice atmosphere, a friendly staff, and a lot of teas to choose from. The tea itself was really good, but I have 2 issue that lowered my rating. The first is I said 1 cup each, and the lady that took my order repeated a single cup each, but they brought us each share sizes that both went to waste and cost us over $20. The second is I didn't know any of their prices until I paid because their menu is online and it's split up. What I mean is there is list of teas at the top, and since I found the tea I wanted quickly I stopped looking, but if you scroll past the list there is a second list with the same teas and the price for each. I only found this out when I went back later to see how I paid over $20 for 2 teas. Again the tea was really good, but tea should not be the same price as a mixed drink. I really like the shop; I've been to a couple of Dobra locations and they are always lovely. The ambiance is peaceful and the food is decent. HOWEVER. I ordered tea from Dobra Vermont in August. It is now October, and the order has not been delivered. Dobra has not responded to emails or a voice message. I tried leaving a comment on their Instagram to get their attention, and they reported it as spam! What kind of customer service is that? Absolutely the best tea I've ever had by far. The space has wicker seating some bench chair table combo seating and an area where you can sit on the floor as long as you take your shoes off. Being a larger person I was weary of wicker but luckily was able to snag a bench shortly after arriving. The menu can be a little overwhelming. You scan a code to get full descriptions of the teas listed on the menus and the list is endless!! 38 pages!! I had the black vanilla chai and then decided to try an additional tea. That second tea was the best! CBD Hemp Flower Chai with Matcha. A Blend of hemp flower with Japanese Matcha. Heaven. Also had an order of olives. The man working there was wonderful very calming and helpful. The woman working that day was a little uptight. Some customers came in asking a lot of questions wondering why things have changed from the old location and wouldn't scan the code so asked for her to give descriptions and make suggestions. You could tell she was annoyed but still polite. Couldn't blame her too much. However, changed the vibe in there a bit for me. They offer some food snacks and little pastries, nothing substantial. Nice ambience and friendly staff, but unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the drinks I ordered. The boba texture was inconsistent--some bubbles were decent but some were too soft. My matcha with oat milk didn't have a lot of tea flavor, though my partner's oolong milk tea tasted better. It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't great either; however, if I'm paying over $7 for a boba drink that isn't a large size, I expect more quality-wise. I also was told I'd be charged $14 at the register and when I checked my credit card balance a few days later, I was confused why I was charged $17 (almost $9 for a boba drink???). Luckily I was able to dispute it with my credit card company, and while it's not a lot, I didn't appreciate being charged more than I was told for some unknown reason. read more

As soon as my sister and I walked in, the staff member at the counter told us she was not seating anyone. We didn't even have a second to smile or say hello. She threw up her hands and said she was the only staff member. Looking around, there were plenty of empty tables and we wouldn't have minded even to go tea if she had offered, which she didn't. My order was placed more recently, November 6th 2023, but I have heard nothing from them about delays or deliveries for the past 4 weeks. I have received no response to email. I have called the phone number approximately 10 times over the last 2 weeks at various times and on different days, and have not been able to make contact. The phone rings and goes to a voice mail that is full and then hangs up, so that a message cannot be left. This place was so cute inside! A real tea shop with authentic booths to sit in and the atmosphere had good vibes. It definitely attracted quite the crowd and we stood on line to order a black oolong bubble tea without milk and light honey. We waited more than I anticipated to pay and then to receive the tea. I thought the tea was okay, you couldn't really taste any honey at all, and the bobas were a little chewy and less soft. Also, I am not a fan of the paper straw as I felt it disintegrating into the tea and making the tea taste just ok. read more

I've been to another Dobra Tea before and loved the setting and tea selection - this one didn't disappoint either. The seating area is so peaceful and full of plants, and the decor is really lovely. There are standard woven chairs with tables, but also areas to sit on cushions on the floor. I got the baba ganoush plate and an herbal chai. Both were great, but the plate seemed incredibly overpriced. I paid $9 for a small bowl of baba ganoush, some slices of flatbread (that ended up being a thin tortilla), and a few slices each of cucumber, celery, and carrots. After tax and tip, my bill was $20 for something that wasn't filling at all. I still love Dobra, but I wouldn't go there to get anything to eat, or I'd split the plates with a friend as a small snack. read more

I am a big fan of Dobra and have been to 2 others in different states. I was so excited when I dropped my freshman off at UVM to see this location. I finally had a chance to go in and have a cup of tea and zen. While we are under covid restrictions, I was still able to catch a little bliss at a corner area. There are restricting numbers of people inside and while I was partaking, they definitely turned people away from staying or directed them to the outside seating (fortunately it was a nice day) or take out. My only sadness is that my favorite rice dessert treat is not being made right now (my hearing was not good enough to catch why but all rice items are not being made at this time). My only complaint is that the area you pay and get loose tea from, while being a separate "room", was having line problems - distanced waiting goes into the sipping area and people were not getting that they needed to not be so close to our table. We recently read a book about pu'er tea, named "The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane". The beautiful story about Asian tea culture (great book, highly recommend!!). So, when our travels took us to Burlington, Dobra Tea on a lazy summer afternoon was a great find. We were looking for a bubble tea shop, when came across this gem. Their menu is like a tea bible! Extensive explanations and descriptions of tea types and kinds, world tea regions, preparation techniques etc. I loved all the concentrated information I was able to read. One of the menu sections was devoted to pu'er tea. My daughter was very excited, especially since one of the teas on the menu was made from tea cake, just like in the book we read. We had to try it! Our server was knowledgeable and showed the whole ritual on how to brew it. We thorougly enjoyed it. We also ordered couple bubble teas as well as tried some of their pastries (baklava and molasses cookies). Everything was fresh and delicious. If you are looking for a peaceful place to sip on interesting teas, Dobra Tea is the place with its quirky decor and extensive offerings. This is such a cute little tea shop and such a relaxing and quiet place to sip, talk, and enjoy some fresh warm goodness. Their prices are not cheap, but that's because their products aren't cheap. This place has such a fun ambiance with tables and many other sit on the floor (pillows) tea areas to relax and socialize with friends. They've got loads of teas and a few different kind of snacks available as well if you're hungry. They also sell their tea at the cash register once you leave the tea shop. I kind of love that they separate the cash register from the tea room, it allows you to really enjoy the experience without the usual here's your bill kind of norm at most restaurants and other places like this.
