Awful experience. I had an order coming in from GunBroker at the beginning of June, I heard online that DOA had cheap transfers so I selected them. I called them beforehand letting them know and specifically asked if they needed any more information from me, to which they replied no. The rifle got there about a week later and I went in to pick it up the same day after work. The employee I was speaking with was extremely condescending and before I even had the chance to fill out a 4473, I was told I was too young to have the rifle transferred to me, despite being legally permitted to. The employee cited a store policy prohibiting them from transferring any type of weapon to adults under 21, which was never disclosed to me even after specifically asking if they needed any info from me before shipping the gun. After over a month of back-and-forth over what to do with the rifle (since the seller didn't accept returns) I ended up paying to have DOA transfer the gun to Freedom Outdoors where I was able to have the gun transferred to me with no issues at all. Overall, I had a terrible experience with DOA, not only because of their unconstitutional store policies, but also because of the attitude I was given by the staff. The gentleman looked at the approved ATF Form and proceeded to tell me that it was incorrect and basically that I was an idiot for following the directions from the company that produces the item. It's a great looking shop and has a lot of stuff but I will gladly bring my business elsewhere. The gentleman behind the counter was 100% incorrect and this was verified by the ATF. This is the most customer service friendly gun store I've been to in the Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake area. Period. The item I wanted to purchase was out of stock so I ordered one from a different out of state store and used them as the receiving FFL. I used them for two reasons, they are extremely customer service friendly. When you're in the store they make you feel comfortable and don't talk down to you like your inferior because you have less knowledge. Two, they are by far the cheapest FFL price in the area. $20 for unlimited items as long as it's in the same transaction!!! Superior Pawn charges $50 and McX charges $45 for example. From the time I went in to browse to the time I went in to pickup my item, they were very friendly and professional. The owner or manager did a great job ensuring the staff puts the customer first and makes us feel comfortable. Each member was rude, snotty and down right unprofessional. One member in particular, Chris, was the worst. A real punk! And, when I called on the phone to disgust a particular item that they stock and sell, an Iver 12ga, he did not have a clue as to what I was talking about. Until I came back to the store to educate him on it. I recommend just staying clear of this store. There are plenty of places to buy arms, at better cost, real knowledgable courteous service and they actually want your business. I found this store on my way home from work one day and decided to take a look on line and see what they were all about. I'm glad I did. This is a small store, but has a large selection of AR-15 lower and upper receivers, pistols, complete rifles and parts. A lot of their inventory is not on display but don't let that deter you. All you need to do is ask. If you take a look at their online store first you can make sure they have what you are looking for in stock. The owner of the store is really helpful and great to talk to. DOA - Dead on Arrival. Placed an online order with them, parts broke before the gun was ever fired. Could not get a response via email, called multiple times with no answer. Finally got an employee on the phone, who gave me an attitude. I offered to send pics of the damage, he grudgingly agreed. No further response from them via phone or email. The point of online selling is to reach a larger market, but it seems like they probably are only good if you're in the VB market and can look them in the eye.
